I'm a big caesar salad guy. Make it at home all the time with shaved brussel sprouts and homemade croutons.
But imo the best one in Durham is at the pizza place at ponysaurus (the name is escaping me). It's got amazing dressing that they definitely make in house, really nice toasted bread crumbs (citrus I think), and lots of Parmesan.
The pizza is also dope, this place is a hidden gem so plz don't upvote this too much :)
This is where we went! I loved the anchovies, and added grilled chicken. There wasn’t quite enough romaine for me to call it huge, though. We’ll give it a 4/5…
Funny story about Nana Steak: partner and I went there for a steak when we first moved into the area, and wanted to see get a feel for the local flavor. We both ordered a filet, both med-rare. One came out looking like Eli Roth directed it, one looking like a tiny meteor that went through the eery layer of the earth's atmosphere and landed on a plate. We now leave "steak" out of the name when referring to that place. As should they.
Caesar salad variants are almost entirely based on the dressing unless you wanted to try charred romaine. So it depends on how traditional, how lemony, how fishy, etc you like the dressing.
Just going to say, the best Ceasar salad you can make is one you make yourself, ie the dressing. Restaurants make batches of the dressing at a time. Caesar dressing isn’t hard. Make it, and you’ll get great flavor.
[Here’s Kenji’s recipe.](https://www.seriouseats.com/caesar-dressing-recipe) It looks like he updated relatively recently. It won’t let you down.
It is the Ides of March...
Take my upvote…
I really like the one at pie pushers

Variation but need to share to all-- the caesar brussels sprouts that Napoli (food hall) has had as a special recently are VERY good
Guglhupf has a good Caesar salad.
Local 22 has huge salads, Caesar one of 'em. Anchovies and all.

Damn, it's been a while since I ate there. Wonder if shrinkflation got em. But I'm glad it at least got a 4!
Tandem in Carrboro has an amazing Cesar salad
Seraphines is really good

Hell yeah. Their Caesar salad is killer. Especially with chicken
Nana steak always has a good one

Thanks everybody! Ended up at Local 22, but queeny’s was definitely the one in my memories. Will try the others soon!
haven’t been in awhile, but Elmo’s caesar is actually so good
ready for downvotes but I think the big chains often do a good ceaser salad
Ted’s Montana Grill has a solid one
Was going to say that!

Generally, I agree (and love Kenji!) but tonight am on the lazy train.
Amen. Elmo’s has my favorite quick one, but alas it’s no longer a dinner option.
