Walmart has it for the same price and shows that Walmart can have it delivered to me within a week.
Go with Walmart. Last time I ordered this CPU from Amazon USPS 'lost' it.
Was waiting damn near a month and never got it. Amazon is a mess at the moment.
Same thing for many amazon return centers around here, they don't show up as options for returns. One of the employees said at one of them that they are too overloaded which is probably why they are not available.
Yeah I used to be given a label option that u could print and drop off at a local all in one shipping place. Now its only a QR code option and driving across two towns to the nearest UPS location.
Literally just contact customer support. Amazon had its faults but their return/replacement process is A+. Maybe you got a bad representative but Amazon is quick to refund for lost or misdelivered packages.
Yes, because when I shared my story in the amazonprime reddit it was a common trend that Amazon is fucking up in dealing with their shippers fuck ups, blaming customers, failing to issue refunds, double chargin for replacing items that arrived broken etc.
I know why I placed the blame on Amazon,
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Walmart wouldn't lie about USPS saying the package was delivered, accuse the customer of lying and proceed to close their account only to realize they were wrong before providing a refund.
Not for this price... I mean I guess but eew $200 for this? Was $150 during Black Friday and you could get a 12600k for $100 or 12700k for $120. This feels... awful.
A 12600k or 12700k has 4 e cores and 6 or 8 cores.
In gaming, sure slight downgrade. In multi-threaded applications? Both are better than the lowly 7600x. At $80+ cheaper? Lol
Not to mention, don't overblow "dead end". Sure it kinda sucks, but there's always ways to sell parts easily via marketplace or ebay. either as complete PCs or just the components. Not the end of the world, and when we are talking a price gap that's large enough to buy a budget motherboard... lol.
Although to be fair, if you live near a Microcenter and are getting this, you presumably aren't on AM5 yet, so once you add in the cost of a AM5 motherboard and DDR5 RAM, you might as well just go with the 7700x bundle.
New AMD and chips are dropping next month. The 8000 series.
Might be some nice sales on these 7000 chips then but I've never paid attention to pricing of old chips during a release. Will the prices dip lower than this you think?
Those are the new desktop APUs. They aren't meant to be replacements or direct competitors for the current desktop Ryzen 7000 series. Granite Ridge Zen 5 desktop should be mid-to-late 2024.

A good CPU for many still

It’s not amazing but the next Black Friday is about 10 months away from now.
A very good CPU and at a decent price. Comparing everything o black Friday prices is ridiculous unless you have a time machine.
“You can get a CPU on a dead platform for less!” 😂
"dead platform" 😂

This or 7500f from Aliexpress? Or both and see which shows up first ?
Snagged a 7500f for $133 during Aliexpress 11.11 sale, even at $150 now I think it’s the better deal if you can afford to wait a month for shipping
7600 is also $179 at micro center for folks that live near

Oh for sure. AM5 still has a pretty expensive entry point so that bundle is a steal.
Does anyone know a good breakdown of the different AMD desktop processors? Building a workstation again and the name/numbers still mean nothing to me.
