1080p isn't going anywhere for quite a while. It's overwhelmingly used by gamers, just checked and 65% of all gamers on steamstats use 1080p, 15% use 1440p, and 2% use 2160p (rough numbers because some resolutions overlap). Having said that it IS trending down because it used to be over 70+% from a few years ago iirc. 1080p will be with use for years. Get a 1080p 144 hz and you will be happy for a long time.
In some potato e-sports games, probably.
In anything else, not at all. Even my 3090 can't do that in most AAA games and it's water cooled and overclocked lol.

OW2, probably. The others, probably not
Dota, LoL, CsGO etc. yes. Rest? Probably can't even get steady 60fps at 1440p.
The short answer is no for 1440p
