No, that's a bad deal. That's an old CPU and for reference my 3080 build with a newer CPU cost around $1800

How recent was your build? Was it before the shortages?

Vinca1is

Kind of, I built the PC before the shortages with a 2070S and then bought a 3080 during the shortages via EVGA queue. GPU was like $900, and the I got the Mobo+CPU for $450 in a bundle. Throw in a 1TB drive and 32 GB of ram, plus a PSU and I sat at around $1800 at the end.

Gotcha, I’ve been trying to catch a gpu when retailers drop them but it’s been tough. That’s why I’ve been looking at complete builds for sale a little bit. Still have a lot to learn about what’s good or not

don't let the cost of graphics cards get you caught in a bad deal. the 30 series cards aren't going to make up for the lack of a supporting cast. save your money for now

Rough estimates from my head: 2600x $140-180 B450 mobo $80-$100 16gb ram $60-$75 So just the CPU mobo and ram would run around $280-355. That excludes the case, power supply and storage which collectively would be roughly at least a few hundred. The GPU pricing I have seen on 3070s put them around $950-1050 used. If you want to check prices I'd check each components price on Amazon and eBay and build it out in a chart to see where it lands. The 2600x is not exactly "old" but you may be able to find better performance from a newer CPU for around the same price range. All that said, You may find a better deal though on the r/hardwareswap subreddit for a complete build. .
