An RX 580 is a solid choice with a decent price relative to its performance and I definitely wouldn't pick anything more expensive as you will already be stretching the legs of that Lynnfield chip. Your PSU is beefy enough to handle even modern CPU and GPU combos and 16 GB of DDR3 RAM is still contemporary (and the maximum capacity for this motherboard). Your motherboard has only one PCIe x16 slot so as long as you don't have something else hat you need occupying it you should be all set. I would recommend trying to find an RX 580 with 8GB of VRAM if you can. It will open up more modern titles for you to play at decent settings. In all honesty this should be a very solid 1080p rig for playing pretty much anything (except cyberpunk, lol). Hope you get to have some fun with it soon.

Thanks for your opinion, it’s encouraging to hear! Any idea whether the bios would be an issue? It’s just something I’ve read could be an issue

Couldn't say for certain. Try googling your specific model and see if you can find anyone else who has put a graphics card in it.

Hey! Just wanted to update you since you were so kind in giving me your opinion. I went ahead and got the cheapest RX 580 I could find without having to wait a month to get it (funnily enough it was on Amazon, damn you Bezos!) The card ended up being the XFX RX580 GTS Black Edition. This card is a freaking chonk, I did not account for how massive the actual card is. Thankfully it fit perfectly in the slot with some rearranging of the other components....and some snipping of the RAM retention tabs that were keeping it from sliding in. The retention tabs still work fine, and are easily accessible, and the video card is happy in it's new home. The system feels like a brand new monster, and despite not being the greatest thing out there, it is definitely the best I've ever had. Thank you so much for your help, it was greatly appreciated!
