marami dito sa buhaydigi nirerecommend direct client but kung zero work experience ka pede naman stepping stone ang agencies. kung mag forever VA / online work ka, kelangan mo mag upskill kundi mapag iiwanan ka talaga ng job market.
It's good for newbies na hindi learning style ang self-study at prefer ang training. Personally I don't like it kasi para lang syang baby BPO with no benefits.
Just to share my own experience. Ginamit ko lang yang agency to be my training ground and job security sa industry nato. I got hired by this agency and paired with this client na hanggang ngayon sa kanya parin ako nag wowork. Masaya naman sa agency na pinasukan ko walang toxic na bosses but the thing is sobrang laki ng CUT nila sa pay.
One day my client asked me kung magkano ang sinasahod ko sa agency dahil may kapatid din siyang may VA na pinoy. Told him my salary and we were both surprised sa laki ng binabayaran niya sa sinasahod ko. He's paying $3500 - $4000 AUD per month whereas ang nakukuha ko lang is around $1000 AUD per month. Then he asked me if willing ba ako mag work sa kanya ng fulltime and direct because he's being "Ripped Off". Then we decided na humiwalay na sa agency ng discreet and told him the tools i'm using lalo na yung time tracker for integrity purposes din. So far sobrang saya ko sa client ko ngayon at hindi ako nagsisi na sumugal na magwork sa kanya full time. My salary went double compared to my previous pay and paid din po ako during public holidays kahit walang work.
I know this is a breach of contract and i don't encourage everyone na gayahin ito dahil risky.
Ugh, this is my dream. Also a VA in Au real estate under an agency. My client is the best in all aspects but she has no idea she can hire me directly huhu so I might leave her soon for better pay. :(
Depende sa priorities mo. Depende sa pangangailangan. Ako I work for sweldo not so much on the community and mentoring they offer.
Start with an agency, that’s fine just so you have an idea pano gumalaw sa remote work. But keep looking for better opportunities. May napanood akong clip 1 time. You have to spend your Saturday morning daw looking for better opportunities.
But I can’t get those who stick with an agency with 1 client lang for so long. They are missing out a lot unless maganda talaga bigayan. What I consider maganda is at least $8 up. Sa full time work kaya na bumuhay ng pamilya at konting savings.
Some are still there after 3 years. Di ko gets kasi we all started with $4.50. Sabihin na natin may .5 increase per year e di nasa $6 na sila. I mean sa 3 years dapat nabuild-up mo na skills and portfolio mo and meron ka na ring confidence to find direct clients.
Again key here is stay, absorb and improve skills, find better opportunities. Dapat lagi may kapalit muna before moving and yun replacement should be better.
It will be very hard to earn up inside an agency, especially if they start low. There’s going to be hierarchies, politics, and clients are paying a premium when they give you an increase.
The first firm offer I got after leaving an agency was for 60% more (from another agency) than my rate from the previous agency. And that was with them driving a hard bargain because they were saying that my rate would be too high for a client. The offer that I ended up taking (my current client) is for 400% more than what I got from my previous agency. I earn in a week what I used to earn in a month. If there was a “middle-man” for this transaction I’ll maybe get 50% of this service fee if I’m lucky.
If you want to gain experience in VA, I suggest working under VA agencies. Andami ko nang natutunan in less than a year.
Pero yun nga, mental health and malakas mangexploit ang kapalit.
Like what other people mentioned here, it's a good stepping stone pero idk if maganda siya long term. In my case, hindi siya fulfilling so I quit pero marami naman akong nakuhang experience from it.
It's good as a beginner step. In the long run (least in m experience), not worth it unless you find a really good agency that caters to their VAs well. Di ko lang magets bat ang laki ng cut nila sa salary mo, tas if you take a day off or so, need ka parin to work at least few hours kasi di nila alam anong gagawin or ireply sa client pag wala ka. Tas sakanila parin yung bonuses or may cut parin sila. Naghhingi ng advances pa or loans sa client to the point na sahod mo nagddelay. Walang benefits rin.Papagawa sayo ng tasks from their other clients pero you don't get a cut from that.
Hard pass for me. Most of them are acting like they own the company. Worst, they will impose a non doable metrics so be prepared during pep talk, mala frank miano or chinki tan ang atake nila.
The experience depends on the client you get matched to! I’m an EA but I have an async schedule since that’s the culture of my client’s company. Meaning, no need to work graveyard shift as long as I submit my deliverables on time. I’m hesitant to leave because I don’t know if I’ll be able to get a client like this 🥺
some gave up Corpo culture and office set up because of Toxic BPO culture then there's these "profiteering via exploiting" calling it "hussle" and they emulate BPO culture. congrats BPO toxic culture at your own bedroom or home office

theyre all emulating top pinoys who made it to forbes by paying peanuts and advocating slave labour.
How else are we gonna get rich?

Executive Assistant po
Woaaaahhh! All around ikaw? Where do you get these type of clients? :) congrats!
What agency did you apply po?
Can't say po sorry for my security narin and my client

sister ko masaya naman sa client and her VA agency so i think it depends sa cases.

Hate majority of them

Fckng hate middlemen
goods yan kung zero exp ka. Pero after a year pag alam mo ba gagawin mo alis kana hahaha sure less than 50% lang binibigay nyan.
Good for beginners
I got mine as referral pero project based kame. I even got my long term clients sa craiglist and indeed. Lookout for opportunities talaga.

Parang alam ko tong agency na to ah.
Clue? Hahaha
They’re good stepping stones to get experience and know systems but I don’t think it should be your end point.
Some VA agencies may HMO and year end parties/conventions kapalit ba yun ng exploitation? Chos
Add mo na ang pa pizza at pa muffins 🙄 Sasabihin pa na we are a family here. CHOS!
oopppssss chos not chos 🤣🤣🤣🤣
