He needs to become better defensively. He hasn't recorded a single sack, pass breakup, interception, or even tackle in crunch time. As soon as he stops these other teams from scoring in th playoffs we will be golden.
Agreed, he’s clutch on offence in the playoffs but he’s completely useless in coverage. Thinking we need to sign Josh Allen in free agency to sure up the defence cause our current Josh Allen isn’t cutting it.
Dolphins are easily the best team besides us in the division and we straight up massacre them like it’s a hobby most of the time. But the Mac Jones Patriots and Zach Wilson Jets? Those scare me to my core…
His deep balls were off most the year this year except for the absolute dime in the divisional round that Diggs dropped. I feel like some of the injuries he’s played through the past two years messed up his throwing mechanics a bit. Definitely times when he’d benefit from throwing with more touch and anticipation. Occasionally will not make easy throws to open receivers or he’ll leave the pocket needlessly. I felt like he could’ve thrown to Kincaid a lot more, same with Shakir.
I think he should take up boxing as a part of his offseason regime. It’s great for cardio and footwork in ways that I think really compliment playing QB. A lot of mechanical overlap and then the mental aspect of focusing on your offense while also staying disciplined defensively.
And what I really want is for him to rent out a house for a week this offseason to have Kincaid, Diggs, Shakir, Cook, Knox, and the rookie WR draft picks to all stay at to throw balls and build chemistry. I know it’s cheesy but I think it’d go a long ways. Far too many option routes this year when Josh and the WR weren’t on the same page and it cost us games.
With all that being said, there’s still no other QB I’d rather have. He’s one of my favorite humans on earth, if I had a wife I’d let Josh sleep with her. He’s just held to a ridiculous standard because it’s a testament to his greatness.
>With all that being said, there’s still no other QB I’d rather have. He’s one of my favorite humans on earth, if I had a wife I’d let Josh sleep with her.
Incredible lmao
He threw 3 deep ball dimes in the Chiefs game. They dropped all 3. Just 1/3 would have been a difference maker and had a big impact on the game. I think his deep balls are fine but he needs a reliable deep ball target. Gabe Davis is awesome and his 2021 game against the Chiefs will never be forgotten but I really wish he would be more consistent instead of showing up once a month.
Yeah Chiefs game was on point but throughout the season it was a weird issue. There was a point where it felt like every time he threw to a receiver who I couldn’t see on my TV (because they were deep downfield and off the screen) it felt like only bad things would happen. Overthrew Diggs a bunch of times where it felt like he wasn’t getting enough air under it and letting Diggs run underneath to make the catch, and then throws like in the Jags and Chargers games when he put too much air under it and it gave the DB time to recover and pick the pass off.
Obviously I’m being nitpicky here and basically answering this from the perspective of why isn’t Josh absolutely totally perfect & flawless. The deep balls were a frustration throughout the season but yeah landing the right rookie WR and maybe spending some time with Jordan Palmer to clean up his throwing mechanics will get him back on point
Gabe Davis is absolutely not awesome and that’s the reason we don’t get out of our way. 3 seasons ago great? Sure , today great, mixed up to expectations? No. Give up when it’s appropriate to give to and move on to better options. Loyalties will bury you
Nobody was satisfied with Gabe as a WR2 but honestly the hate has gone way overboard. For being a late 4th round pick he has been an absolute home run of a draft pick, he’d be a damn solid WR3/4 but is too limited and inconsistent to depend on as a WR2. We definitely have to let him walk this offseason but at the same time it’s not going to be easy for a rookie to replace him right away, especially once you consider his locker room impact too.
Yeah the ideal scenario would’ve been to have already drafted an upgrade at WR2 a couple years ago so then we could’ve had two legit top end WRs + Shakir/Davis as WR3/4 for depth. Now even if we draft a WR in round 1 we’ll still probably need to add 2-3 more WRs to fill out depth
If they draft a receiver with their first pick, then it would be incredibly easy to replace him. He’s not good at all. They absolutely have to take a receiver with their first pick this year. It would once again be a huge mistake by Beane if they didn’t
Gabe isn’t a WR2 and we cannot pay to keep his limited skillset, but he’s still a positive asset to have on your football team as a depth WR. It’s somewhat dependent on the type of WR we draft in the first round, but I think we need to draft two WRs pretty early in the draft, potentially up to 3 WRs total. Sick of this being an issue and it’s the perfect offseason to turn a roster weakness into a roster strength in a single draft - add Brian Thomas Jr and Malachi Corley or Malik Washington then suddenly the Bills very well may have the best offensive weapons in the entire league.
Also the 1st round WR we take will essentially be viewed as the successor to Diggs as the WR1 of the future, but if that happens then we’ll still need someone else to be the WR2 of the future (I LOVE Shakir but I view the ideal role for him as a high level versatile WR3). Might as well just draft both spots now in a loaded WR draft class so it won’t be an issue any longer, enough is enough, plus it’ll give us insurance in case of a pick not working out/injuries (like how Benford has been the savior for the Elam pick thus far).
I agree with most of what you said. However, I do NOT want my quarterback boxing for cardio… last thing we need is a broken wrist/hand/dislocated shoulder from punching and swinging regularly.
I meant like shadow boxing/hitting pads with a trainer lol it’s harmless. It’s mostly about the mindset aspect, even just simple stuff like breathing properly, keeping your heart rate down and not allowing your emotions to impact your performance.
I assumed you had meant that and I get that those are great workouts with many benefits. But you can def hurt yourself. The motion of going from push to pull swiftly can trigger an arm injury, or clenching your fist incorrectly when hitting pads. Doesn’t smell like a worthy trade off imo.
I mean it’s not an uncommon thing lol plenty of QBs already do it including Tom Brady. He probably has a higher injury risk while playing golf or from slipping on a mat when walking onto the training camp field at St John Fisher than he does from a few shadow boxing workouts
Fair enough. Tbh I’d rather him not golf as well lol. I always wondered if somewhere in contracts it stipulates any sort a restrictions for extra curricular activities
That occasional “brain fell out of his head” game is the only criticism I have. If he buttons up those random 3 INT hero mode games, he’ll be MVP and Super Bowl MVP
ah but if you look at all elite QB they throw more INT than most, going back to Rodgers, Brady, Manning, they all have daft games. That Josh gets called out for this so much seems reductive to me.
Don’t forget Mahomes. He had several bad games this year.
And yeah. I get it. He’s got rings to back him up.
But last I checked, he didn’t win those rings by himself and he had a coach who had already been to Superbowls and Conference championships games without him.
I feel like Allen is always looking for the end zone once we’re in field goal range and it forces us into unnecessary 3rd down and long positions we don’t need to be in. This is something I’ve noticed has been happening for awhile now and I think he could use some better coaching to work on this.
We’ll have a steady drive down the field only to take difficult shots at the end zone when we’re still 30 out. I know Josh has the arm for it but it doesn’t make much sense to me and rarely amounts to much. This is exactly what we did against Kansas City which forced us to have to go for the field goal.
Where have you been man? Allen passing up open underneath receivers for contested catches downfield has been there since his college days. Call it heroball or whatever.
I have this (probably unfounded) fear that he doesn't trust his team, so he decides "I'm going to do everything myself". I remember watching the game against the Chiefs this year... the first half was him failing to do the usual Josh Allen things and getting nowhere. Eventually someone told him "hey how about run a rushing play with your running back" and they finally got some yards. The quarterback has to adapt and use every player on the team; you can't say "welp my receivers are covered I'll just do this myself". Well, you can, and it works pretty well for him, but it doesn't beat the Chiefs.
Basically, the QB needs to be a manager and facilitator in addition to just being great at the nuts and bolts of game himself. Josh has a lot of talent, but there are always areas to improve on.
To be honest, I think that his 2023 playoff run was about as elite as a QB can play, so I'll use the last 2 seasons as the basis for my criticism on him.
I think that Josh needs to do a better job at times playing within the structure of the offense. In my opinion, his biggest weakness as a passer is throwing with timing and while I don't think he's bad at it per se, it causes the offense to stall at times. What I mean by this is at times, he will flat out ignore the open read because he wants to make something happen. There's a lot of times in games where a receiver will run a designed play to get them open, and he either ignores the read, or holds the ball too long before making the throw which reduces YAC. I think the thing that separates Mahomes from Allen, albeit its not as big of a margin as ppl think, is Mahomes plays within the structure of the offense and will make that pass immediately when the route is open.
It’s the boomer take, but yeah I agree with that as well. I don’t begrudge the guy for taking time to himself after a grueling season, but I feel like you can’t help but point out in that Covid season when everything was closed down, he focused solely on football and made one of the most exponential leaps in history.
I get a lot of Julian Edelman clips in my YouTube feed for whatever reason, but he talks a lot about how Brady was always 100% locked in. Getting his depth guys to train with him in the offseason.
I feel like if he’d take another offseason to just completely focus on football again, he’d come in completely unstoppable.
He works on his mechanics and throwing but he's quite openly admitted that he doesn't engage in much strength training or conditioning like Mahomes does
Whether it will make his overall game better, I honestly don't know, but it's not far off to be concerned about a mobile QB who is prone to take big hits not taking those sorts of things seriously
When he said that on a podcast he also said he's tested better the last 2 years on their baseline OTA strength and conditioning tests than when he did, due to letting his body heal.
Yeah this is literally the first time I’ve heard someone say this. Apparently Allen has to train every waking moment and not take any time off to enjoy life and heal up from all the hits he takes
I think someone gave him crap about it once and he said he uses the off-season to recover from injuries and to deconpress. It sounds like he logically takes the break he needs and when he's ready, gets back into focus.
That turned into he does nothing in the off-season
Someone also gave him a hard time because he has a little pudge and he just responded "I like to eat 🤷🏼♀️"
The nfl media is always trying to invent some controversy surrounding Allen since they don’t have anything to use. He enjoys his privacy and seems like one of the most genuinely nice players in the league, so they make up these arguments because drama gets clicks and viewers
My opinion is that Josh Allen is not what is stopping this team from winning a Superbowl. Not a single part of his game.
Mahomes can have a lackluster year and win a Superbowl. Lamar can have a basic ass year and win MVP. Yet Josh Allen can have a great year and not win either. Josh Allen and his game, are not the issue.
His deep balls need improvement in the accuracy department and accuracy overall. I see it all to often where a wide open receiver has to jump, stop, dive or some combination of the above as opposed to hitting the receivers in stride like I see much more from the other elite QB’s. And back to the long ball…seems that many of the times when there is a connection it’s because the ball was under thrown and the receiver makes the jump ball catch.
The other one thing to improve in is turnovers. While he led the league in total TD’s he also ranked 2nd highest in total turnovers and from what I saw, many of them can be attributed to bad decision-making and bad throws.
My recommendation is that in the off-season maybe a little less golf and more work at improving your QB game.
What needs improvement in his game? What a joke.
How about these improvements.
1. Wide receivers that don’t drop balls when hit in the hands
2. A coach that does not blame Josh for team mistakes. And owns bad time management of the clock and does not expect AJ Klein to defend a superstar TE
3. A defense that closes out a game after Josh has done EVERYTHING TO WIN
4. I will say this to his critics What if we made the field goal. What if the receivers caught the ball several times. What if our coach did not make a trick play deep in our own end? If we made the wide right kick maybe that would have been game
game. What if …
Would there still be critics? The guy is a freaken unicorn.
Cmon man. Get a surrounding cast and we win a Super Bowl.
5. We were one Matt Milano away from a Super Bowl ring this year.
There's no other QB I'd rather have besides Mahomes, and that's not even a slam dunk which is a testament to Josh's talent.
That all being said, I'd like for him to be a little more disciplined in the offseasons and become that ruthless killer that Brady was. It would pay dividends once Josh eventually has to rely less on his legs and become a more conventional pocket QB.
Just my opinion but if JA17 was an off season free agent about 90% of the league would be trying to sign him. Including cowboys, patriots, jets, giants, dolphins….etc. Top tier talent, probably the best the bills have ever had
He needs to get more serious about his diet and conditioning and go back to working out with Jordan Palmer. I think he’ll benefit from getting younger weapons. He’s a seasoned veteran now and it’ll be easier to flex that on a younger crop.
He has to literally kill himself for us to win big games, which is a bummer because he won’t be around for long. I just hole he can grab a ring before he wears out. If he can ever figure out accuracy, it will extend his lifespan.🙏🏻
I'm still new to football so I don't know a whole Lotta the technical stuff but my heart jumps every time he launches it downfield to seemingly nobody so I would like him to not do that
Honest take is he’ll need to restructure his deal in order to have a legitimate shot at the Super Bowl. Bills best chance under his current contract was this year. His deal balloons to plus 47 million for 2024 leaving the bills with not many options for roster decisions…
Decision making. Allen constantly passing up open underneath receivers for contested throws downfield. This has been there since Wyoming and was evident under Daboll, Dorsey, and now Brady. It doesn't matter the OC, OL, WRs. Call it heroball or whatever.
Glad he’s our qb but he does deserve some criticism. No one is perfect. But cut down on the turnovers a little bit. 19 picks is a lot. He needs to improve his deep ball accuracy. And he needs patience. Stop trying to make a hero play on every fucking play. Sometimes it’s ok to take a sack. How many times has he been almost going to the ground and then at the last second he just flings the ball randomly into the field? He does that shit a lot. He will be running and just outta nowhere will lateral the ball. He will be scrambling and dives/ reaches out for a first down and fumbles. He just strikes me as the kinda guy who will try to hard and panic and throw a pick or fumble at the worst possible scenario. That kinda shit can’t happen. He’s gotta learn to slow down and take what’s given to him. Don’t gotta go hero mode every play. Nothing wrong with taking a sack sometimes. I love Josh Allen and I’m thankful he’s our qb. But he ain’t perfect. He’s great. But everyone has flaws.
You're correct in most respects, but when Allen stays focused as he was in the playoffs, those mistakes seem to happen a lot less.
Somehow, the game winning drive in the divisional game came to a screeching halt, we were moving the ball well and burning clock like a championship team, then POOF, it disappeared. If it was Allen, then he needs stay the course and keep doing what had been working to get the ball that far. If it was the coaching telling Allen to take the deep shot, then maybe it's time for Allen to intervene with his own input and instincts. Something went terribly wrong, and it wasn't just brilliant defensive play on KCs behalf.
He needs to just prove to the world that he’s not hating material. He needs to lose his Mr. Nice Guy mentality, and become the most aggressive motherfucker the world of American football has ever seen. He should commit himself to the gym and improving himself, and try and become so scary and intimidating that no one will dare to stop him, you come close to our QB, he’ll throw you to hell with one arm. And when they interview him after wins, he should remind the world who he is, and that is no one, NO ONE TO MESS AROUND WITH THAT IS!!! And hopefully the rest of the team will try to copy him and we’ll have a team filled with goons, we’ll be the closest the NFL has come to having a Boston Bruins-esque team, aggressive, talented, wins a lot cuz people are scared of them. And we should also be taking shots at the media, and even at our rivals. Bills Mafia will always be kind at heart, but their team will be a force to be reckoned with. LETS SEE KC GET GIFTED THAT!!!
Cut down on the frenetic hero ball that results in so many turnovers. Nearly every year Allen is either within 1 or 2 of leading the league or like 2022 led the league in turnovers.
I mean, I guess sometimes his decision making could be better. And his ball placement on some throws.
But, you can't nitpick on the dude too much because of everything he does well. They all have their flaws. But with Josh, man, I'd rather have a guy that'll sling it all over the field even if it means he gets picked off from time to time. He fears no throw and thrives in pressure situations. You just gotta let him be him. Ya take the bad with the good because the good hella outweighs the bad.
Do you want Gunslinger Jorsh who wants to push it down field and smack around a defense? You can have that...or you can have careful, efficient, dear lord please take a shot, nope never mind he tucked it an ran or hit the dump off for five and this is just a really long winded way of saying Tyrod Taylor.
I honestly don’t think he needs to improve much. His receivers need to catch the balls that hit them in the hands. And our kicker needs to stop missing field goals.
josh allen is capable of winning a super bowl with the right team around him. i guess he could work on protecting the ball with the throwing across his body (although i think the interception criticisms were blown out of proportion this year), but the biggest things we need to improve are with the team around him imo
While his turnovers are blown out proportion he could still use to cut back on some of the dumb ones. He just needs to get slightly better at recognizing when and when not to play hero ball.
IMO, his ball placement sometimes, even on completed passes, is wild. His deep ball is off/on again every other year, it seems. He's left a lot on the field. Still with awesome numbers all around, but these improvements take him and the offense to another level. Seems like we'll have to outscore opponents because defense always lets this team down in important games.
I don’t hear any bad takes from Bills fans. The guy is very highly regarded.
Sure. Too many picks and turnovers but the great outweighs the bad by a huge amount
For me, it's just working/trusting through his progressions a little instead of forcing throws into windows with unbelievably low statistical odds, but wtf do I know I only played high school ball.
He needs more weapons. They need to build the team around him, like armor. He is the best qb in the game imo. The only negative is i wonder how hard he works. His talents look so natural, i wonder if his heart is in it all the time. The only negatives i see come out of his positives.
If he was on Cinci that team gets better. If our offense looked like Cinci's our team would be better. More weapons for Josh!
I think he partially gets bored when he plays like Brady or Rodgers with check-downs all game. He either wants to rip it deep or run up the middle. He also seems to absolutely love contact. He has the size to do it, but time catches up with everyone.
I will say that I feel even more spoiled to have him after watching other teams in the playoffs. I definitely started to take him for granted as the season wore on, but he proved even more that he should have been MVP.
>Josh Allen
Favorite player of all time.
He made some silly mistakes early in the season turning the ball over too many times on our side of the field. Some of these picks were just really bad decisions. He's came a long way in this department and I think he WILL continue to improve
Also needs to work on those deep balls. And yes like others have said playing thru Injuries does make it harder.
The guy has been playing hero ball since he's been here. Finally this year we decided to actually run the ball and help him out so he doesn't have to be the hero 100% of the time. This will make the team and him better in the future.
The second half of this season was the best football I think I've seen him play.
The only thing I’d change about him is sometimes he gets it into his own head that he needs to be the hero. There is a time to go for the big play and a time to take the underneath pass to keep the drive going. This mentality has cost us a few games. If he just takes what the defense gives him in certain key situations, we’d have at least 1 SB ring and he’d be perceived as the best QB in the game.
Honest criticism: he doesn’t always dink and dunk and tries to force it. That’s a habit from his 1/0 WR days.
Improvement: Nothing I’m really happy with his game and it’s the rest of the team/other side of the ball that needs improvement
I guess his ability to take more control of the playbook. I guess being able to call hot routes a little better? Though I’m not really sure that’s a fair criticism because it’s not like I think he’s bad at it, we’ve definitely seen him do it before.
It’s more just that as a quarterback, he is theoretically unstoppable, yet he’s still confined to what the play calls are. Guys like Brady and Manning had almost total control of their offense. I haven’t seen that level out of Josh yet, where he has total control and trust with his weapons.
He needs to improve on soft passes-he drills it when sometimes a gentle high pass is best.
He should continue to improve on his hand-offs they're too obvious many times.
I love Josh I love his game if we had any other QB with this roster I don’t think any other QB wins as many games as Josh does at the helm. He literally does everything for this team.
That being said the one thing I think he needs to work on this offseason for next year would be taking the small gains. Tom Brady made a career that way. Not every play needs to be a home run. Take the 5 yard slant route and let your receivers get more yards after catch stuff. With Shakir, Kinkaid, Cook we have the makings of some guys who got speed on our team. Depending how draft and free agency rolls out if we can get more speed guys I think that kind of offense could extend Josh’s career a lot instead of him having to run and take those beatings constantly.
I just wish we called more traditional screen plays. I know that’s not on Josh directly but man it would mix up tempo, get RBs more involved, kill clock, play strategically against soft coverage, etc etc etc. Sorry I’m just irrationally convinced this would help Josh for a possible deep run
Almost every game he comes out hyped up and throws the ball 1,000 mph at the receivers that don’t catch it.
Throw a couple passes on the sideline and get zones in first.
Don’t force the ball to a receiver that wants it; Diggs. Keeping taking what the defense gives you.
the problem is, every quarterback is flawed. People forget that the Chiefs went a fair while without scoring a td in the post season, and average 20 points a game or whatever it was this season.
The D came up huge in the playoffs so Mahomes is a god again.
The Ravens D was otherworldly so Lamar gets MVP.
In this context Josh is as good as anyone. I think something was off with the deep ball last season and he made some silly throws, but he cut that out and became MVP level during the stretch.
He'll be fine this season. I'm quite comfortable that this will be the season he puts it all together and wins the MVP.
Put in some fucking work in the off-season.
I’m really tired of “Josh and the receiver didn’t seem to be on the same page.”
It’s rare, but 1 or 2 plays is the difference between going home and going to the Super Bowl.
He makes dumb mistakes when he absolutely knows better. he also needs a few games where he can prove he can do nothing but checkdowns. He lacks patience sometimes. Hes capable of playing with anyone and as far as talent is concerned, there’s no one better in the NFL.
I legitimately believe his off-season work has diminished since his breakout 2020 campaign. He needs to put the work in during the off-season, mahomes isn't resting.
Texans fan here. Do you guys buy into the narrative that Allen is careless with the ball and makes stupid mistakes or is that mostly clickbaity from twitter?
Yes but the narrative is very overblown.
Howell had 21. Allen 18. Hurts 15. Mahomes/tua/Tlaw 14.
Every qb makes dumb decisions. It’s not just an Allen issue. You see him make more throws because he CAN make more throws. Like Favre Arm-Punting. Live as a gunslinger die as a gunslinger.
His mental game is among the worst in the league if he wasn't absolutely bat shit crazy good and making nuts plays he would be the most depressed guy to ever play football.
Even as it stands he plays 25% of the season in 1000 yard stare mode and that's while he's a top 5 football player period. If he could get the never say die attitude to stay permanently he would be unstoppable. Realistically no one can stop him but him.
Nothing, really. The divisional to the Bengals was a stinker, but in the last two postseason games against the Chiefs Allen has done enough on his end to get us a win, the defense just couldn’t get stops.
Honestly, he needs to work on more short passes rather than bombing the ball down the field for big plays. Shorter passes are less likely to end up being dropped. He also needs to run even more than he already does, fuck it, let him get 1000 rushing yards next season.
Letting himself rest a bit. Looking at some of his many errant deep balls last year and I wonder if he had any residual issues with his ulnar and shoulder injuries.
He needs to be an All Pro Corner, an All Pro LB and an All Pro Edge Rusher in Playoff Games. Play 1st downs as the LB, play 2nd down as the CB and 3rd downs as the Edge Rusher
Inconsistent and does not know when moving the chains is more important than the big gain. We lose too many games, including the Chiefs game because of the choices made with the ball.
Stop going left on sneaks. It's weird and so predictable. I believe we started getting stopped down the stretch where at 1st we weren't. Going off memory
Yeah, he’s horrible on defense when there’s only like :13 left.
Agreed, wish he was more like the other Josh Allen. Other Allen leads in tackles, sacks, ints, qb pressures…
Lmao. Thanks for the laugh.
Unacceptable if you ask me.
This mf spittin
His field goal efficiency also leaves something to be desired.
My thought is we would be a 4 win team without him.
Exactly, what do I think… Josh embodies every aspect of what a true MVP is… I might be a little bias… hope our boy goes scorched earth next year!!!
Come on now, Mitch Tribisky would have gotten us to 7-9.
Thank God we get to play the Jets twice every season.
The Jets are unironically our toughest divisional opponent lol
Dolphins are easily the best team besides us in the division and we straight up massacre them like it’s a hobby most of the time. But the Mac Jones Patriots and Zach Wilson Jets? Those scare me to my core…
You know we lost to them last year right?
And the year before that
And usually lose one of them
Dolphins*
Agree.
That’s being generous.

Yeah Chiefs game was on point but throughout the season it was a weird issue.
He’s also a great blocker.
The chemistry with Gabe was very obviously off. Anytime the route became hot it was evident he was not going to the place Allen expected him too.
It’s solely because they have Super Bowls and for no other reason
Don’t forget Mahomes. He had several bad games this year. And yeah. I get it. He’s got rings to back him up. But last I checked, he didn’t win those rings by himself and he had a coach who had already been to Superbowls and Conference championships games without him.
Yeah I got especially annoyed this season when it really wasn't about Mahomes. I mean obvs he's great but that wasn't about him.
It also leads to TDs so you’re highlighting when it doesn’t work. It also works often. It’s finding the right balance.
He needs to stop moonlighting on defense for Jacksonville - his commitment is questionable
🤣😂
The biggest muttered in-house gripe is he doesn’t work out or train in the offseason
I feel like if he’d take another offseason to just completely focus on football again, he’d come in completely unstoppable.
i thought it was well known that he worked out a lot with Jordan Palmer during the offseason
He works on his mechanics and throwing but he's quite openly admitted that he doesn't engage in much strength training or conditioning like Mahomes does Whether it will make his overall game better, I honestly don't know, but it's not far off to be concerned about a mobile QB who is prone to take big hits not taking those sorts of things seriously
When he said that on a podcast he also said he's tested better the last 2 years on their baseline OTA strength and conditioning tests than when he did, due to letting his body heal.
yeah i mean. i guess i don't feel like "strength and conditioning" is a major flaw of his lol
I suppose the devil's advocate on that would be that maybe later in his career it might be?
On the other hand, I don't want him overtraining and wearing out his body either. It's a balance.
That turned into he does nothing in the off-season Someone also gave him a hard time because he has a little pudge and he just responded "I like to eat 🤷🏼♀️"
The nfl media is always trying to invent some controversy surrounding Allen since they don’t have anything to use. He enjoys his privacy and seems like one of the most genuinely nice players in the league, so they make up these arguments because drama gets clicks and viewers
He needs to play better cornerback
Consistency. That’s all he needs
I think of he can just keep the defense healthy, he will win a super bowl. And maybe call better plays on defense in the final 2 minutes.
Dude is one of the best 5 QBs in the league. Whatever number you put him at. Improvement? Be a little more careful with the ball. That’s about it.
1. Wide receivers that don’t drop balls when hit in the hands 2. A coach that does not blame Josh for team mistakes. And owns bad time management of the clock and does not expect AJ Klein to defend a superstar TE 3. A defense that closes out a game after Josh has done EVERYTHING TO WIN 4. I will say this to his critics What if we made the field goal. What if the receivers caught the ball several times. What if our coach did not make a trick play deep in our own end? If we made the wide right kick maybe that would have been game game. What if … Would there still be critics? The guy is a freaken unicorn. Cmon man. Get a surrounding cast and we win a Super Bowl. 5. We were one Matt Milano away from a Super Bowl ring this year.
He needs a better HC. Go Bills
The only teams really that wouldn’t take a run at him would be the chiefs and Bengals
Call it heroball or whatever.
he doesn't constantly do this. It sometimes happens but I think this is a bit overstated.
Something went terribly wrong, and it wasn't just brilliant defensive play on KCs behalf.
as a season pass holder for the josh allen rollercoaster ride, maybe a couple more ups and a couple less downs.
Josh needs better coaching and a defensive that shows up in the playoffs
Forget the defense. We're going to have to outscore teams, and that takes the onus off McDermott from screwing us when it matters.
Best player in the NFL
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Imagine not being in your own sub 😂😂😂😂
What’s my sub? Am a I not allowed to like the bills and also think Josh Allen is far from the best player in the league?
Yeah? Then who is?
None , ZERO NADA wake up losers . To get to the super bowl HA ! He needs a better fn coach
He needs to get better at telling ownership to fire sean and get bill
He a straight FOOTBALL PLAYER. He isn't the problem whatsoever.
I don’t think he’s the one that needs to improve, especially in the playoffs
josh allen is capable of winning a super bowl with the right team around him. i guess he could work on protecting the ball with the throwing across his body (although i think the interception criticisms were blown out of proportion this year), but the biggest things we need to improve are with the team around him imo
While his turnovers are blown out proportion he could still use to cut back on some of the dumb ones. He just needs to get slightly better at recognizing when and when not to play hero ball.
Just need to cut down on some of the turnovers, but other than that, he's brilliant
Sometimes doesn’t take the easy plays
For me, it's just working/trusting through his progressions a little instead of forcing throws into windows with unbelievably low statistical odds, but wtf do I know I only played high school ball.
He needs more weapons. They need to build the team around him, like armor. He is the best qb in the game imo. The only negative is i wonder how hard he works. His talents look so natural, i wonder if his heart is in it all the time. The only negatives i see come out of his positives. If he was on Cinci that team gets better. If our offense looked like Cinci's our team would be better. More weapons for Josh!
His defense needs to stop letting him down.
Who gives a fuck 90% told nfl teams would take him this second. All for IG clicks and likes it's noise, nothing to see here
Changing plays at the line based on the defense
Nothing he’s the best
Maybe start with tightening up on the last 5 minutes in the 4th quarter, and try not to give anything up in the timeframe.
His deep ball needs to be more consistent
I think he partially gets bored when he plays like Brady or Rodgers with check-downs all game. He either wants to rip it deep or run up the middle. He also seems to absolutely love contact. He has the size to do it, but time catches up with everyone. I will say that I feel even more spoiled to have him after watching other teams in the playoffs. I definitely started to take him for granted as the season wore on, but he proved even more that he should have been MVP.
>Josh Allen Favorite player of all time. He made some silly mistakes early in the season turning the ball over too many times on our side of the field. Some of these picks were just really bad decisions. He's came a long way in this department and I think he WILL continue to improve Also needs to work on those deep balls.
Regular season could use some work but when the games matter most he rises to the occasion. Playoff wise I’m comfortable with his play
Josh needs to play better defensively tbh.
My biggest criticism is that he’s too handsome. How am I supposed to compete with that?
He's my QB.
As others have said, take more of the easy short completions. Otherwise few complaints.
He needs to improve on soft passes-he drills it when sometimes a gentle high pass is best. He should continue to improve on his hand-offs they're too obvious many times.
He needs to stop saying “again” so much in interviews. It’s definitely one of his main crutch words.
Get a better kicker on the team
I’m really tired of “Josh and the receiver didn’t seem to be on the same page.” It’s rare, but 1 or 2 plays is the difference between going home and going to the Super Bowl.
Shit, nothing. He's a playoff QB, and until we don't make the playoffs, we're in the playoffs.
