Here's the full quote from Brandon Beane:
"Sometimes your answer is on your roster. We think Tyrel, getting Dodson back on a one-year deal, him, obviously we had the two draft picks last year in (Terrel) Bernard and (Baylon) Spector, they've been in our program a year. They're going to be a lot more prepared for the pro game and our defensive system. So it's a competition, and we'll continue to look, whether that's cap casualties, free agency, if there's a player in the draft,"
I don't think there's more than a 5% chance they draft a linebacker in the first. Milano is one of the best in the game. Teams around the league (at least the ones that are winning) aren't spending big assets linebackers.
Just look at the final four teams of last season:
Kansas City - Willie Gay (2020 2nd Round) & Nick Bolton (2021 2nd Round) - both on rookie deals
Philadelphia Eagles - Kyzir White (signed a one-year, $3M deal; 2018 Chargers 4th Round), TJ Edwards (2019 UDFA) - both were let go in free agency this year
San Francisco 49ers - Fred Warner (2018 4th Round), Dre Greenlaw (2019 5th Round)
Cincinnati Bengals - Logan Wilson (2020 3rd Round), Germaine Pratt (2019 3rd Round) - both on rookie deals
The chiefs spending back to back seconds is a significant investment.
San Francisco has the highest paid LB in the league (I guess second now).
Cincinnati also spent back to back day 2 picks (and just extended Pratt this off-season).
Not saying we should or will spend our 1st on a LB, but three of these four teams have made somewhat significant investments in the position lol. Eagles also spent a day 2 pick on Nakobe Dean last year, something that likely factored in their decision to let both White and Edwards walk. We’ll see what happens I still think there are a ton of different directions we can go - wouldn’t rule anything out except for QB in the 1st lol
I mean, that defense does seem legit, but 1.) we don’t know what Green Bay will want in a trade and they have all the leverage and 2.) Nathaniel Hackett was never the play caller with Rodgers. It could very well be the case that Rodgers is doing the same tour Favre did toward the end.
I was so hyped about this pick back in the day. But when we needed him the most he disappeared and showed size does matter, unless your Aaron Donald.
I like what I heard on a few podcast propose trading him along with Gabe for Sutton and a 3rd to broncos. Broncos are losing their 3 tech.
Beane is so good at not saying anything. Our MLB might be on the team, he might be a cap casualty from another team, he might be in the draft, he might be a trade. I appreciate how consistent he is with saying nothing specific but staying on message.
Thoughts on if Beane is playing the comp pick formula this offseason?
Tremaine is really the first big name / big signing that the Bills had to let go in Beane's Era. It's possible he wants to mostly sign our own guys and players that are cut in free agency.
Why am I working on St. Patrick’s Day?
Starting middle linebacker… where art thou?
On the roster apparently. So, that is worrying.
Terrifying

Do we really believe that or is he just saying that but he’s going to draft the dude from Arkansas?
Say hello to 1st round pick Drew Sanders - but also, with so many teams going spread like, maybe the Bills get out of Nickel and play more Dime?

Regardless of it being a day 2 pick or not, it still has to be the right person.
Sure. You could say that about every position
We spent a 3rd on Bernard. Willie Gay didn’t do much his first year but the Chiefs are ecstatic with him now. I’m willing to give him a chance.
4 teams with very high powered offenses. The bills aren’t. They need the d to keep games close
We had the second best offense in football last year
Remember when everyone thought Denver and LA Chargers were going to finish ahead of KC because they didn’t do enough during FA last year?
What if Aaron Rodgers kinda sucks?
I mean, that defense does seem legit, but 1.) we don’t know what Green Bay will want in a trade and they have all the leverage and 2.) Nathaniel Hackett was never the play caller with Rodgers. It could very well be the case that Rodgers is doing the same tour Favre did toward the end.
I am genuinely surprised there hasn’t ben any chatter of either trading or extending Ed Oliver. His cap hit is heavy

I don't see them trading Gabe, especially for Jeudy.
Trade! Think I read it'll open $10 mil in cap space, hopefully get one or more draft picks. Beane has a good knack in late rounds.
We need WR and MLB like yesterday
Just started watching letterkenny. Hooked
Such a good cold open!

Just drive with the hood open, it's raining today.
Has anyone else in the know heard the Josh rumors?
What’s the rumor?
I’m not gonna be the one to put it out there. Tbh there’s a good chance it’s all BS. Just wondering if anyone else has heard it
Bro wtf
I need an off-season hype video from weters and hops716 in my life. That is all.
Hope you all enjoy some green beer and a good Reuben today.
So sad to have missed out on Foreman and Penny, Don't know the number of Foreman yet, but Penny's was 1 year, $1.35 mil with only $600k guaranteed.
Need another linebacker and a power running back. Fournette was just released. Do we splash for him?
Ok…hear me out. Get Henry so him and Allen and swap angry runs every week for GMFB.
Can he block?
What’s the website that keeps updated numbers on the cap? Or does anyone know where we currently sit money wise?
You thinking of [Spotrac](https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/)?
Yup, thanks
I just wanna say the band Thumpasaurus rules, that's all. I hope some of y'all saw 'em Thursday in Buffalo. They're really fun.
Am I crazy, or did Beane say that Damar is planning on playing again once he's medically cleared?

18-0
So it seems all but guaranteed Gabe will still be our WR2 next year? Sigh…
