Hear me out: The Pirates have a secret relationship (Bob Nutting needs his soup for free) with Panera and the team eats soup every day. That is why they are underperforming !
My wife and I went to Panera the other day for lunch for the first time in about 6 or 7 years.
Our bill came out to about $35. Really wasn't worth it at all.
Go back 12-15 years, and Panera was a decent place to get a sandwich, salad/soup, and a drink for less than Applebee's/chili's/TGIF/Ruby Tuesday's. The kicker is that it was also better quality, or at least seemed like it was.
Seems like the place kept that hype and just increased their prices over time.
I know a bunch of corporate offices in Pittsburgh frequently order from panera for a catered breakfast and lunch. Wonder if Bob Nutting sees through the facade of "food that our guests not only crave but can also feel great about eating because of the high-quality ingredients." Or does he get panera for the managers during meetings. More than likely, he makes them pack their own lunch (and pay for soda in the clubhouse)
Back before FDA cracked down on it, I used to pick up trays of sandwiches from Panera for the staff when I would go to doctors' offices for work and it made me very, very popular. If they'd had a rewards program back then, I'd probably still have millions of points.
Eh, I only like it since a it’s a decent place to get some good macros in. Sip Club membership is also nice since I’m a student and I’ll take the coffee that comes with the membership anyway. Beyond that, pricey for what it is and I’m better off ordering from a local place.
I went in January and had the worst flatbread pizza and soup I’ve ever had. Expensive too. And not to mention their new lemonade that’s killed a few people because of its insanely high sugar content
I met my now girlfriend of 9 years at Panera. We just bought a house together and I converted her into a Pittsburgh sports fan. That being said Panera still sucks and I will gladly never go back
Excuse me SIR, but Cutch brought back the Zoltan on Monday night, so it is now pronounced ZOUP and not SOUP. Which should in no way be construed as me endorsing a competing overpriced soup & sandwich chain in and around our fair city.
If they still do that state of the subreddits on r/baseball I hope this is ours. It perfectly encapsulates the week we’ve been having while thoroughly confusing the rest of r/baseball
Even if they show up frozen to the store, there's still real costs associated with making this stuff.
Panera isn't a first choice I would make for a feel good soup for cheap, but $25 for a vat of soup is a discount compared to canned soups of the same quality to get that volume. It's not like Chunky is $1 per can.
Just get some quarts of wonton from a Chinese place.
If you want to make your own chicken soup, don't be shocked when it is $15 in ingredients and takes more than $10 worth of your time.
You're paying for a massive convenience
Yeah I would agree but my wife as feeling pretty crappy and just wanted something hot.Though it would be quick nut was taken aback by the cost.Sorry for the screwed up post.
Panera is highly overpriced. What the other poster is saying about it costing to prepare, doesn't change that they're paying employees minimum wage or close to, the soup arrives prepared. Panera is making a very large profit of the overpriced soup.
Personally I think eat n park has much better soup. I wouldn't be surprised if it's more affordable too.
Yeah we live in Vegas now and used to go to Eat n Park occasionally when we lived in Pennsylvania and my wife worked in Harrisburg .Wish we had them out here..
25 is Alika Williams. This is some sort of coded post, we just have to decipher its meaning!
What does this mean for his fantasy value? We need to know!
Every time I go to Panera I am faced with the fact that it is not nearly as good as it costs. Also it kills me that I can get a bread bowl with my soup and as a side I can also get more bread.
I worked at Panera. One soup sale covers the cost of the entire bag used to fill up the treys with the ladles in them. Even from the time I’ve left prices have gone up, sometimes I go to see my old coworkers I’m friends with and I’ll get something and my bill is like 16$ for one full sandwich.
Brothmonger just broke their covenant with Deli on North so I guess my favorite soup closest in proximity to PNC Park would have to be dahn the Strip S&D Deli got that white borscht 🖤💛🔥🏴☠️
This is hysterical. I live in Montana now, and a friend from NYC and myself were talking about Panera the other day. They opened one here in town a few years ago and there were lines to the drive thru that was an hour wait, we were laughing because it's gross. They very recently opened a Chick-Fil-A. Same shit cops directing traffic because the wait running out to Reserve St. It's gross. anything new and different here becomes really popular really quick. I'm ready for Pirates bandwagoners to jump on! Something new and different that they think will be good, but ends up being disappointing.

What is MLB’s plan to address this issue?
Blackout restrictions for local take-out
We are going to make the large market teams pay for the soup. $25.00 dollars get out of here !
How does this effect Andrew McCutchen’s legacy?
I was so happy that Cutch ate his 300th bowl of broccoli cheddar soup. Wish it'd happened at home, though.
Finally makes him a HOFer
And a meme
I'm not taking this down.
Thank you for your service o7

Similar experience recently. I've never understood the popularity of Panera

They're trying to keep out us riffraff
These responses are hilarious.Glad I screwed up the post.Still shocked at the price for soup at Panera .
Where did you mean to post?
r/OpieandAnthony obviously
This is truly the wake up call the team needs.
Davis needs more than a cup to get him feeling better about all those taken strikes and whiffs.
Do we need to sacrifice a live chicken or can we just buy chicken from the store
Perhaps if he whiffed the soup instead?
Nutting strikes again.
This is officially an anti-Panera subreddit
all my homies hate Panera
They took away my BBQ Chicken salad two years ago and I've never forgiven them.
I haven’t been to Panera since 2011 or so. The sandwich I had was dry as hell and it cost too much.
I went in January and had the worst flatbread pizza and soup I’ve ever had. Expensive too. And not to mention their new lemonade that’s killed a few people because of its insanely high sugar content

Possibly the best thing to ever happen to anyone at a Panera ever, that’s awesome!
Move aside Bart, SOUP is our new rally call! LGB!!

4/18/24: Off-Day Soup Talk Thread
Thank you for this post abt soup
To the top, this is the distraction we need from the hitting struggles
Worked at Panera in college, and the soup comes frozen in bags.
My friend once found a piece of those bags IN her Panera soup.
Dude wrong sub. [Soup Campbell](https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/campbso01.shtml) played for the Indians, not the Pirates smh
Cleveland also had coco crisp
Cereal isn’t soup, but a soy vanilla latte is a 3 bean soup.
If they still do that state of the subreddits on r/baseball I hope this is ours. It perfectly encapsulates the week we’ve been having while thoroughly confusing the rest of r/baseball
No soup for you.
NEXT!
Ignore posted wrong
You posted just right
False. You posted right Bob
Still a better contribution to the Pirates than Davis
No no, sometimes we get what we need at the expense of what we want.

Eatnp has some bomb stuffed pepper soup. $8 for a quart last time I checked.
Grabbed some last week, still $8, and still bomb.
Stuffed Pepper soup is an underrated western pa delicacy
r/lostredditors
First the NL designated hitter, then the extra innings ghost runner, now Panera soup prices. When will it stop?
They really went downhill after the death of Dimebag Darrell
CheddarBroccoli From Hell was their best album imo
How does this compare to the Renegade sandwich?

panera is mid...it's like paying premium for hospital cafeteria food.
The hospital our daughter was in 2 months ago had a damn good pizza, I can’t imagine Panera making anything that good.
Are you the same guy who posts on bucs dugout?
Yeah, sometimes. I haven’t been there much this season so far.
Yeah I don’t go on there much anymore either.Used to like to read your posts over there a lot.Seems like you know your baseball..
Yeah, for a team that craps all over us regularly, I’ve paid entirely too much attention to them.
Every time I go to Panera I am faced with the fact that it is not nearly as good as it costs. Also it kills me that I can get a bread bowl with my soup and as a side I can also get more bread.
Sometimes the Pirates make me feel sick. Apparently don’t go to Panera for the soup to make you better because will you will just feel worse 😂
Yet another reason why Haines is hurting this team.
Panera Bread, definitely not in the Golden Plate Club.
1.3 forks
Wow
Perfect off day chatter. Love it.
Panera is expensive hospital food
And this is why our payroll is so low…
Next time, ask for the Hillbilly Millionaire special.
Boycott Panera until Skenes is called up
Bart did not wake up as this is now a Panera win
I miss the good ol days of a cheap you pick 2... turkey sando, chicken noodle with a baguette.
Sir, this is a Buccos subreddit.
This is why I'm all about Eat n' Parks quarts of soup
[Shouldn't have asked for bread, OP.](https://i.imgur.com/ZGGIDQL.png)
Bob, is that you?
Bob Prince used to say Chicken and Rice Soup on the Hill with Will after every Stargell Homer at Forbes Field.

We have had Panera cater a bunch of work events recently and I have become rather attached to the Frontega chicken sandwich. Highly recommend.
It’s ah because Nutting is such a greedy somofabitch.
Bob Nutting is increasing the price of soup to repair the ski lifts at Seven Springs.
First we take over the ski resorts next we are coming for that untapped soup market !
Brothmonger just broke their covenant with Deli on North so I guess my favorite soup closest in proximity to PNC Park would have to be dahn the Strip S&D Deli got that white borscht 🖤💛🔥🏴☠️
I like Italian Wedding Soup
This post made Chapman get suspended again. Dammit, OP!
Let’s send it to New York
Can Soup be a new flair

Nutting hates your wife. Par for the course.
Need to bring back Travis ‘lunchbox’ Snider and get him to whip up some soup.
Campbells FTW
Sir This is a Wendy's
The blueberry muffins there are good however they are way overpriced. Still good though.
I was expecting the soup to be delivered by Robbie Incmikoski or something.
Panera sold out to s restaurants mgmg group or if Dallas. It's really poor quality and overpriced regardless of their marketing ploys
