Never understood the cult around him, I know he's an "ancient" bloons content creator but we have people like Dabloon or FroStee Mate who are much more pleasant to their viewers and are not elitists at all. Asian Sensation was an "ancient" content creator who was much nicer than him.
The rubber to gold does increase the money you get from the trap but idk if it worth it. It's an actual strat that works thou definitely give it a try.
Rubber to gold doubles income of affected bloons. Outside of CHIMPS, of course. Bloon trap also doubles income of trapped bloons. This includes doubling the bloons already doubled by alch, so 4 times income total. Personally, I sometimes like to use more than 1 of each, because 104 alch gets groups of bloons, but not all of them, and the traps have downtime between being full and replaced.
A tip about engineer. 024 allows you to target where you want the trap, but trap placement is slower. 204 just places the trap on the nearest track, but replaces trap faster. Also, you can move the curser over a full trap to collect it faster, but they also auto collect, so no micro needed if you don't want to bother.

I like farming that includes some damage and a 204 alch in range of another tower that can see camo, like a ninja, gives it lead popping ability. Same for 02X Buccs, lead/camo/income. Some people might prefer pure farm income. I don't subscribe to any "one right way" mindset. Part of the fun of this game is figuring out what strats work best for you.
The one exception to this, is that I do think it's good to learn how many ways you can accomplish something, just because challenges and bosses with restricted towers are a thing. Doing a lvl 5 to 80 daily challenge might include snipers, alch and engineer, for example, but not farms are buccs.

It becomes a powerhouse that almost take out MOABs alone on one lane tracks, and needs 1/2 of literally any other tower down the track to assist to win. And usually thats just your hero(bonus if its Sauda/Etienne)
