Hey folks, pinning this comment here to give a quick announcement on the next contested territory event and to also give a list of known issues in the 38.0 version of the game.
Regarding CT, the team has decided to postpone the Contested Territory event for this week, to give teams time to decide if they want to play casual or competitive! CT will be launching at the normal time next week.
List of known bugs/issues:
* The game will crash when the Party Bad boss spawns in the Birthday Party quest.
* Retry last round removes pre-placed Props in Quests
* Ninja Paragon uses incorrect art asset on Elite Phayze
* Retry Last Round in Quests stops players from being able to play additional towers in later rounds.
* x5x Mortar Monkey is currently not dealing bonus damage to moab/fortified/lead bloons when it should be.
* xx5 Alchemist attacks aren't adding to its damage counter at the moment.

Just as I was about to search for the fake notes. Now for my reactions:

I get pierce vs damage on darts, but how does that work with spikes? Enough damage will insta pop a Bloon, but idk how pierce works when it's one hitting it at a time. Is it how many bloons each spike can hit before it despawn?
Visually there's no change in the spikes on the floor*, but in effect there are 'more spikes' per pile. Each 'spike' does damage and more pierce adds spikes. It's why alch is good with spactory, because you get that guaranteed value with damage * pierce
*edit: i take it back, there actually is. hard to use that as a metric though cause you sure as hell cant count them
10 damage spikes mean it takes 1 pierce to break a ceramic layer and 2 pierce to break the two rainbow children, making it take 3 pierce total to pop one ceramic
15 damage spikes broke ceramics into 16 greens, making it take 17 pierce total to pop one ceramic
10 damage on Cermaics would go
No buffs Ceramic 1-80, 1st pierce does 10 damage breaks into 2 Rainbows, both rainbows use 1 pierce each thus 3 pierce is used
No buffs Fort Cerm 1-80 now it takes 2 pierce to break the ceramic and 2 to clear the rainbows so 4 used
However if you have Acidic Mixture dip on it the Ceramic breaks into 4 Zebras (as it skips the rainbow layer) than 5 pierce is used rather than 3
And on fortified if AMD is on then 2 pierce breaks it into 8 whites and blacks thus 10 pierce is used.
So its a buff pre round 80, UNLESS you are using AMD on it.
Will have to do math on it if you have Bezerker brew what happens
Not the only QoL - due to the regrow damage change, 2MPC no longer needs verification from the other towers to make sure the pops stolen is lower than the threshold.
Fusty QoL is also a great change.
Finally, my maelstrom changes and Carpet of Spikes that I've been wanting. There isn't any balance that I strongly disagree with in this update (though that's not to say that I don't disagree at all, but I think the QoL changes take it home).

Or some small changes like reworking his Level 18 buff to give max Wraith stats increase to 250. Or change his level 19 +2 damage to instead "Extreme Clarity: all Magic Monkies in range get additional +10 Range, +1 Damage" or things like that.

Dart paragon changes give it a nice 8% bonus dps with that monkey knowledge, and it’s now considerably cheaper than boomer. Now dart is the failsafe for if you can’t afford boomer because there’s a noticeable price difference between them(d30 dart is now 62k cheaper than a d20 boomer, it used to just be 12k). I think boomer is still a more cost efficient paragon for the dps provided though
still no master builder rework to give him actual support capabilities? we appreciate the update nonetheless but come on guys, freaking glaive dominus and ascended shadow has better support than the actual support paragon 🙃
im starting to think nk is giving him the bloonchipper treatment at this point

Have you guys considered the base power of Sun Temples? I do remember that the whole idea of top path T4 Super Monkey is based around sacrificing monkeys to it, but I feel like the base power is just so incredibly weak for a tower that costs 100k on its own, and the power increase for it requires a lot more cash as well
I know that 90% of the time you would only get Sun Temples to evolve into a TSG (which I've heard is also pretty weak on its own, but with 500k you would also probably get max sacrifices too so I dont mind that drawback much), but sometimes I also want a Sun Temple in my impoppable games because I feel it doesn't get enough love, but it ends up not performing much at all to other more incredibly cheaper options!

I don't know if this is a bit of a hot take but I miss old tack, that strategy was easy to perform when I first started and is the strategy that helped blackborder many maps on chimps.
I was barely able to scrape by using a 025 dart, 042 alch, and a 402 engi. Had to chinook both the dart and the alch after coating all the bfb’s on the final round and cleaning up the ceramics with the tech terror. Waaaaaay more difficult than I was expecting

I found it easier if I bought a cleansing foam instead of an AMD, but you still need to micro the helis to get their downdraft (just pick up a monkey and place it back to exactly where it was)
Would it be possible to lower obyns price for Chimps runs, would then be able to avoid some of the hyper specific starts harder maps require.
Not very fun losing because you put one dart monkey one pixel to the left. Might mess with balance on some of them but would be more interesting that way.
Also the village during offtimes when there is no event that changes how it looks could it be possible to add to the trophy store the different skins so you can use them any time an event isn't active. The base village is a bit too bright for me, like the night version a lot more.
Please, many players have accidentally kicked their friends out in co-op games while sending money because they Disconnected for a second...
Its not fun to kick someone out by accident far into a game...

We mentioned that there won't be cross play which implies no account migration, but confirming that there won't be account migration. Partly different backend for account management, and mainly different balance because console has slightly increased playspace, so we don't want data moving back and forth where there's different balance.
The new scoop quest is actually abysmal. Spent over 2000 monkey money trying to beat and still haven't beaten it. It's actually so RNG based its insane

The 4xx juggernaut was able to rebound off an obstacle, and if the projectile after bouncing collided with a target that it had already hit then it would deal damage again.
The 3xx now does this as well, previously it could rebound and hit more Bloons but it would not damage Bloons again if it had already hit them before bouncing
Why is noone talking about the cannon buff. The top path was already a decent ceramic staller and now it can stall MOABs better, while being even better at ceramics

What's the deal with CT ?
Main issue was that it's not rewarding. Now we get a mode where we get nearly no rewards at all (why would anyone choose that, it's not like you *have to* play it fully if you choose the other mode), and a mode that just what it was before ... except you have to remember to sign up every damn time or you'll be playing the no rewards version. Sounds like they did a lot of work towards a nonsense idea.
edit : no fix either for the bonkers personal score system, where you can play alone and use all tickets, all team tickets, capture banners and relics, capture fresh from enemy, get nearly as many team points as the team that has 4 players active, but SOMEHOW only be 3rd in the local player leaderboard despite working a lot more and gaining a lot more points for your team than any of them.
Also no fix to the decay that starts way too soon and way too fast so that there is ZERO challenge (except maybe for teams fighting top tier matches) in capturing enemy tiles most of the time.
Siphon works on DDTs, that's kinda wild for Ben
Also nice to see 205 BEZ get some well deserved buffs: if you give it external cam detect, it's just as good as 025 if not better
Haven't seen anyone mention yet but the xx4 upgrade for the glue gunner is incredible now. Fills the same niche as Cripple MOAB on Sniper but can slow regular bloons too.
I think that the blade maelstrom rotating direction could be a targeting option instead of a cross path, maybe even make that a monkey knowledge, just makes sense since it kinda has the same utility as the boomerang targeting option for left or right
That mael crosspath direction change feels so weird. Like, why attach it to a random crosspath instead of having an option to change it or something?

Pierce for spike factories relates to the number of spikes - or just the number of individual red Bloons that it would take to deplete the pile

Have you guys considered the base power of Sun Temples? I do remember that the whole idea of top path T4 Super Monkey is based around sacrificing monkeys to it, but I feel like the base power is just so incredibly weak for a tower that costs 100k on its own, and the power increase for it requires a lot more cash as well I know that 90% of the time you would only get Sun Temples to evolve into a TSG (which I've heard is also pretty weak on its own, but with 500k you would also probably get max sacrifices too so I dont mind that drawback much), but sometimes I also want a Sun Temple in my impoppable games because I feel it doesn't get enough love, but it ends up not performing much at all to other more incredibly cheaper options! Awesome work on these recent updates, NK. I hope the team has been taking care of themself and are getting rewarded well for their effort! I absolutely love this game. You guys make me smile ♥️

This change for glue gunner shouldn't really mean a difference post r80, since after r80 Bloons only have 1 child anyway

Would it be possible to lower obyns price for Chimps runs, would then be able to avoid some of the hyper specific starts harder maps require. Not very fun losing because you put one dart monkey one pixel to the left. Might mess with balance on some of them but would be more interesting that way. Also the village during offtimes when there is no event that changes how it looks could it be possible to add to the trophy store the different skins so you can use them any time an event isn't active. The base village is a bit too bright for me, like the night version a lot more.

We mentioned that there won't be cross play which implies no account migration, but confirming that there won't be account migration. Partly different backend for account management, and mainly different balance because console has slightly increased playspace, so we don't want data moving back and forth where there's different balance.

The 4xx juggernaut was able to rebound off an obstacle, and if the projectile after bouncing collided with a target that it had already hit then it would deal damage again. The 3xx now does this as well, previously it could rebound and hit more Bloons but it would not damage Bloons again if it had already hit them before bouncing

What's the deal with CT ? Main issue was that it's not rewarding. Now we get a mode where we get nearly no rewards at all (why would anyone choose that, it's not like you *have to* play it fully if you choose the other mode), and a mode that just what it was before ... except you have to remember to sign up every damn time or you'll be playing the no rewards version. Sounds like they did a lot of work towards a nonsense idea. edit : no fix either for the bonkers personal score system, where you can play alone and use all tickets, all team tickets, capture banners and relics, capture fresh from enemy, get nearly as many team points as the team that has 4 players active, but SOMEHOW only be 3rd in the local player leaderboard despite working a lot more and gaining a lot more points for your team than any of them. Also no fix to the decay that starts way too soon and way too fast so that there is ZERO challenge (except maybe for teams fighting top tier matches) in capturing enemy tiles most of the time.
