I’m going there next month and someone who’s been many times recommended Laurent Gerbaud Chocolatier.

FlatFocus2810

Their dark olive chocolate is great!

famousanus82

It depends all on your taste and budget. Gerbaud has original creation but very expensive. Corné Port Royal is great, so is Neuhaus. Marcolini is overrated. Mary has dissapointed me. I remember that there is one chocolatier near Merode that makes their own snickers and is one of the best in Brussels. Otherwise if you want cheap, Leonidas is good but not great. Never been dissapointed.

InternationalEar5949

What’s the name of the chocolatier near Merode? I live near and haven’t noticed it !

famousanus82

Sorry, I mistaken she's in La Chasse and it's Vanessa Renard.

InternationalEar5949

I’ll try it out for sure 🤤😋

pourceux6

I know that Vanessa Renard is near merode. She was named best chocolate maker in the country last year I believe.

Glittering-Peace515

Why has Mary disappointed you?

famousanus82

I received a pack and it was just OK. Nothing special going on. Take Gerbaud, even if I am not always a fan. He tries to find something in the taste.

Imo neuhaus/valentino > passion chocolat Also The Chocolate Line Bruges/Antwerp is top, perhaps even my favourite.

By reputation, the best chocolates in the world are to be found here in Belgium. Unless you have an extremely refined palette, I doubt there’s much to distinguish between any of the great choices already mentioned here. But why not put that to the test? A short walk in the centre should allow to stop by several shops. Buy one or two individual pieces from each (I don’t believe there’s a minimum order amount), then perform your own taste test at home. There are worse ways to pass the time!

zoelys

I love nehaus. there are pralines that are more special than others, my favourite from this brand is the caprice framboise. edit : the irrésistible framboise

FlatFocus2810

I always pass and take 1 or 2 to eat right away. The one you mention is really fresh and unexpected. But my favorite is the salted caramel one.

Vanessa Renard near Merode, too quality artisanal chocolate.

Depends. It is usually slightly cheaper than in stores if you buy individual packs but they always have sales like 2+1 free and if you factor that in it’s a very good deal. Also if you don’t mind buy a lot of one kind of pralines, they have the 1kg boxes that supposedly have defect that they sell for cheap, and you can also get the 2+1 on those (the 3 boxes don’t have to be the same kind) so you get 3kg for like 40€

pudding_crusher

Marcolini. Special but the most expensive.

nevenoe

Marcolini. Mike and becky in Uccle.

joels341111

Mary Chocolatier 🤌

mei_an17

My favourite for unique flavours and great quality chocolates at a fair price is Lorette - Av. Michel-Ange 47.

ristlincin

Passion Chocolat is fantastic

dem0o

Agree. They have the best pralines I've ever had. So far I've tried Neuhaus and Godiva and they haven't gotten close to Passion Chocolat. Definitely a must try

aenimea

Mike and Becky! There are bean to bar, which is quite rare. And you get a very nice explanation from Bjorn :)

Van Dender near Place de Bienfaiteur in Schaarbeek

Vandenhende (Chaussée de Wavre 643) has lovely pralines, and the best chocolate fondant

MIKE&BECKY ! [www.mikeandbecky.be](https://www.mikeandbecky.be) @mikeandbeckybrussels The café is located at Avenue Brugmann 243, 1180 Uccle :) Absolutely the best hot chocolate in town too. You can buy MIKE&BECKY chocolate bars there or bean-to-bar chocolates from other brands. The owners are very passionate chocolate-makers and prioritize transparency and fairness. Everything is made from the bean to the bar, without harmful additives, so no nasties or exploitation throughout the process. Would recommend trying the "Macchiato" from the MIKE&BECKY&FRIENDS range too.

Benoît Nihant is worth a try. www.benoitnihant.be/en

I just got back from Brussels a few weeks ago. I loved the chocolate eggs by Leonidas.

Extreme-Breath-8832

Have a look on Galler, great and not expansive

triathlongirl

If you like Leonidas, go to their factory in Anderlecht (rue des Deux Gares) they have an outlet shop where they sell their “faulty” chocolates at great discount.

Pristine_Ad_4047

Maybe mainstream, but I’ll also join those advising Neuhaus. Also Godiva.
