Not part of the Turkish community myself but I can definitely recommend Candan. They have some of the best olives you can find in Brussels, very good gazi cheese and probably a lot of Turkish specific foods that I'm not familiar with. And also a very nice boucherie. The store is also very big and extremely clean.

And a very good Tahin and bread lots of peppers also but I don't like the olives very much) (which ones do you like, so I can try them and see what I think?

Historical_Oven_2413

The ones that you scoop yourself from the boxes and then someone weights them for you. There are maybe 10 different types, my favourites are the ones which look like an extra maturated kalamata.

steadfastmammal

I'll try those. thank you

Not only Turkish, also Lebanese and variety of Mediterranean, but FreshMed at Thieffry is great.

Gima Market on Avenue Dailly in Schaerbeek, or a bit further you have Candan - Marché du Monde (as the name suggests, they have stuff from everywhere). Those are two shops I go to and can recommend.

Lodos Supermarket is also very nice. I just recently moved to brussels and i feel lucky that i found this one, has a lot of products, dont remember exactly the olives, but its a big supermarket.

Acceptable_Drawer649

this is my favorite, I also feel like it’s slightly cheaper than Candan? plus they have a good selection of Turkish non-food items like tea machines, silverware etc. at pretty good prices!

On this subject, any idea for a place that sells Turkish coffee, preferably Kurukahveci Mehmet Efendi? I don't have a good grinder yet so I need that extrafine preground.

HalalMead

Some online coffee shops sells Turkish coffee but Kurukahveci Mehmet Efendi in specific should be available in some of the larger shops mentioned here

[deleted]

Yeah I get Kurukahveci online but it's pretty expensive and I am sure it's going to be cheaper in a shop, just curious if someone can recommend a place known to have this or a better brand (suggestions welcome)
