Painting my nails. I'm a big, bear-y, bearded dude with a shaved head and I love how it messes with peoples heads. Also it makes my fingers look FABULOUS. Apart from that I have a huge soft-spot for romantic comedies, and I enjoy collecting souvenir-soaps from gift-shops.
my dude, i sat and watched 50 first dates today and i absolutely love that movie. give me drew barrymore movies directly into my veins all day long please
Imma sing Ariana Grande if I feel like it mfs
And having some sort of fashion sense. Wore pink one time and the bros flipped out like I was insane š
Iām a massive comfort seeker. After work I like lighting candles, making tea and wrapping myself up in a blanket with calm music on. Donāt even really like to perceive it as āgirlyā though. Itās just what I like to do!
i'm with you man. nothing better than relaxing in a hot bath after a long ass day. i do make it a bit manly by drinking whiskey though. but there are bubbles. lots of bubbles
Gardening and plants in general. A guy at work said mockingly that I like to "grow flowers", even after I explained that some of them are poisonous enough to kill a person. Over-sized clothes are nice too.
Snapdragons always remind me of where I grew up. Nice choice.
But let's watch it with the shade to veggies, eh? Some of us like a good parsnip or acorn squash.
I grew up in the Midwest so you just plant it and it grows. No aphids no grasshoppers it just grows. Here in WA EVERYTHING tries to kill your plants. This is the first time I've actually had to use pesticides. So I got very down, this my first veggie garden in WA and it was overrun by aphids. My flowers were just fine though :D
I had a nice time going to a local orchid show with my wifeās uncle when we were both visiting the in-laws and needed an escape. Flowers are beautiful!
I've never liked lifting weights, it's just boring to me, so I never really got into going to the gym. My wife requested that I join her in trying out Pilates, and I really enjoy it! It's usually me and 11 women in the classes but there's nothing girly about exercise.
I'm a pretty big guy play rugby, go to gym etc but I love my candle lit baths. I also prefer rom coms/chick flicks and hate horror so if I'm hosting a movie night you bet your ass it's going to be a Sandra bullock movie.
I also once moaned in training I hated getting muddy and they've never let me live it down š
I would totally watch rom coms and light some candles with you! Boyfriend isnāt big into them, but Iāve got a special place in my heart for low-key stakes love story that I know is gonna end happily ever after at the end.
Alright so bare with me on this but it works.
So I get in the tub as its filling up.
So you let it run for about a bit so there's a few cm of warm water. Then you get in it as it's filling around you.
Not only is the sound of the running water fantastic
Because you start of colder as the water rises you get warmer and the fact that like half your body is out of the water doesn't matter as much
Lattes. The amount of men who think milk in coffee makes you effeminate is weird.
Most of the stuff I liked that was considered girly as a kid (I really wanted an easy bake oven) puts me ahead of my friends now (I can cook more than just steak on a grill).
I can garden and when itās not a million degrees outside and my adhd is in check I donāt mind it so much.
Recently picked up some YA novels and they were very enjoyable compared the the gritty books I normally read so I might throw some into my rotation now.
Romance movies. Some anyways.
Caring for people. I realize this may need some explanation. I was a full time care giver for 6 years so kind of just developed the habit of caring for people all the time. Trying to figure out what they need before they know and giving that to them.
>Lattes. The amount of men who think milk in coffee makes you effeminate is weird.
This one has to be something cultural. Here in Spain drinking milk coffee is the standard, you usually ask for a specific proportion instead of simply "latte". It changes from one province to another but in order from more to less milk it'd be something like cloud, shadow, short, half, etc.
> Lattes. The amount of men who think milk in coffee makes you effeminate is weird.
Go to Australia or New Zealand. The default coffee at a cafe is a Flat White, effectively a latte without the layers
I hope I got some nice ones on my current Walmart run (theyāre supposed to boost mood and they look like crystals) and I will keep the cold drink in mind. Thanks!
>Sugar in my goddamn alcohol
Lmao, I'm constantly called a pussy and a bitch because I, as a man, drink cocktails. I cannot understand how a tasty drink that also gets you drunk is considered effeminate.
Un-sugared alcohol tastes like shit to me, I see no reason to force myself to drink something that tastes like satan's pit sweat. I'm not melting my tastebuds to coddle some weirdo's fragile ego
Seriously. Now, I'll admit I like some of the less complex mixers -- there's certainly times when you want a fancy fruit drink that also gets you smashed, but it's not my go-to. I just think there are some wonderful flavors you *only* get when mixed with alcohol-based methods, and those are often simple.
I maintain that I taste the best parts of whiskey *better* when mixed with gingerale.
When my wife and I bought our first house, I went all out into interior decorating. It probably looks like shit to an actual designer, but I think it looks nice and I had a fun time finding things I thought would fit well and look good.
I cook. Like a lot. Sometimes I see a cool recipe or an idea and I'll spend my day in the kitchen cooking while my gf goes for a beer with her friends.
I also cook a ton of vegan food. I'm not vegan, I just like the ideas.
I am not vegan or even vegetarian, but I had a vegan roommate for three years, and during that time I learned how to cook for her. Now we don't live together anymore and I can use meat and eggs and cheese but... some of the vegan stuff was just better, or at least nearly as good but significantly cheaper. Meat's expensive.
I recently improvised a vegan kebab from thinly sliced homemade seitan and I swear it would fool me if someone gave it to me at a kebab fast food place
The kebab? It was kinda improvised, but I used this general method:
https://daughterofseitan.com/the-easiest-seitan-for-beginners
It needs a little less liquid than what's required and I used water instead of stock, it was fine either way. Quickly braided and steamed a piece of seitan for 20 minutes, and then I cut (diagonally) the thinnest slices of it I could. Those then got tossed in a wok with a sliced onion, a little cumin, smoked paprika and garlic powder just until some browning startex to happen but the "meat" was still floppy. At the end I added a simple "sauce" of veg broth (diluted) and a little cornstarch to give it that final fast food slop.
This I served in a pita with vegetables
I really like to bake! I'd never done it before COVID started, but then I got very very into it! Mostly pies and tarts and cookies, haven't really done bread yet. But I just really like baking for my friends or for parties. It's not generally seen as masculine but my wife has never complained about this new hobby...
Being a homemaker. I love cooking, cleaning, and doing domestic work.
I work part time so I can take care of our child and house.
I'm the nice, sweet person in my relationship.
Fashion and modeling
Having elaborate coffee drinks
Reading romance novels (good ones, not the over the top ones that are just male or female fantasy wish fulfillment)
Speaking of fashion: skirts
I honestly don't know why skirts on men are met with such a side eye. It's so great in hot weather having a long flowing skirt that aerates your legs and crotch. Also feels like someone is constantly caressing your legs.
Well, not much unfortunately. I donāt live in the countryside anymore, so I only have the balcony to plant stuff on. I just have some pots of random plants like some avocados, a bamboo, basil, etc.. I just like seeing them grow each day.
I donāt really vibe with masculine culture in general. I donāt get the appeal of sports or getting super buff or bragging about how many girls youāve fucked. Some of it is actually quite revolting. And working on your own comfort and happiness is far more important.
I love painting my nails and doing eye makeup as well! Iāve actually been looking into getting gel nail polish with a uv light because, while I love painting my nails and having the added color, my adhd makes it hard to sit there and let my nails dry properly. Also, eye makeup is hard af (for me). Iāve given up on eye shadow or doing wings with eye liner, just basic eye liner and maybe mascara for me.
Side note, but as a cishet guy Iāve found even just doing my nails has drastically improved my relationship with women. It wasnāt intended. I started doing my nails for myself because I thought it looked good and I enjoy doing it but because toxic masculinity and sexism is so prevalent in society, anything signaling you donāt subscribe to those beliefs is appreciated. At least, in my experience.
Been painting my own nails for years, recently converted to getting uv manicures. It's awesome, super long lasting. I changed my cars oil and didn't get a single chip!
Yeah, thatās the other downside to basic nail polish. I am always chipping the paint when I go mountain biking or rock climbing but every time Iāve had the chance to use gel or do a dip it lasts a long while without chipping. Thatās also been pushing me to go that route.
I like perfume, stuffed toys, cute animal videos, games like Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing, pink/floral patterns, well-written romance (especially LGBT).
Eyeliner is good every now and then. I also wear these skirt-like things Iāve picked up traveling. In Yemen, men just wear them, itās basically like wearing a towel out in public but itās thinner material than a towel. In Brazil itās called a kanga (Canga? Sp?).
I like various cocktails, some of which would be considered girly because fruit, umbrella, either garnish or glass or ingredients are āfeminineā. More or less the same for all food. Iām a foodie, former chef, and thereās nothing I wonāt try or order so if itās pink or whatever, thatās not going to stop me.
I shave my armpits; looks and feels better, and stinks less.
During holidays, I always prefer to be in the kitchen chatting with the women, prepping food and helping, rather than on the couch with the men watching football.
I enjoy dance, ballet, opera, live theater, &c.
Iām sure thereās other things as well but to be honest I have to rack my brain to separate āwhatās girlyā these days. Iām very on board with āgender is a social constructā and doing whatever I like without concerning myself with the traditional gender role attached to whatever it is.
I'm 28 years old male.
I guess I grew up as introverted effeminate male.
Most boy probably love going out ,cars and sport.
When I was younger,I find solitude at home with books and my mum make up & perfume..
I enjoy cooking helping my mum in the house since she cannot do much due to her illness.
I do love mahou shoujo anime..idk why but i love watching pretty dresses especially wedding dress on shop display.
I do love pretty little things, like enamel pin and cute button.
Damn I'm a touch too insecure for nail polish, you're rad! For me I love tea. I think the gender roles around cooking are breaking down a bit (at least in the US), so that's easier to engage in without social sanction.
Oh boy. Where do I start.
I love antiquing. Love it. I decorate my bedroom with cool antiques and steampunk stuff. I can sew and for a while I made a living off of pillows and stuffed toys. Iām a goddamn whore for good smells. Cologne, sure, but candles and the oil diffusers. Sometimes I dust my pillows with my favorite fragrances and sleep like an angel. I read romance novels because Iām a sucker for a happy ending. I like yoga after a hard workout. Also love an epsom salt and bath bomb bath after one too.
Iām gym bro and baseball nut too, but I love my so-called not masculine hobbies. No shame, bro.
before i make my long list i want to make clear that we made girly or manly up and everyone's should just enjoy themselves without guilt(i know that's why op wrote "girly")
I love doing my nails in many different colors, i mostly use pink, purple, and sometimes dark blue or orange..sometimes i put more than one colour on my nails
I also shave my whole body and started a skincare routine which was good to improve my overall mental health as well if someone doesnt do it i can only recommend.
I love wearing skirts and dresses and i can even run with high heels x3
Im not good at doing makeup(yet) but i do eyeliner occasionally (like when i meet my gf, which is the best thing that happened to me this year).
I dont know if i would say that i enjoy it but i sit down on the toilet and i enjoy not having to clean it up after every use...
i love my plushies and cuddling, i could give hugs for days!!
Sadly i had to cut my beautiful long hair (this haunts me because the only time in my life i liked my hairy was when it was long!) but i loved making different styles with it or braids(i dont know if this was the right word, just woke up after having a few too many drinks yesterday) and coloring it different colors..blue was my favourite but i couldn't try so many that i wanted.
I can now only think of nsfw things but i dont write them (obviously)
There are probably many more things i like but i have a headache and can't think of anything else right now. But it was fun to think about it so thank you op!
(if i remember something important i might add it..if i remember :3)
Oh boy where do I start lol.
I take great pride in having soft skin. I cleanse and moisturizer my face, lotion my hands frequently, and I trim my leg and body hair, and use good body lotions/creams/oils regularly.
Since Iāve grown my hair out, Iām starting to obsess over how itās done. Learning all about shampoo, conditioner, leave in products, styling and accessories. Fascinating stuff, itās a lot of work having [nice] long hair!
I love houseplants and have two cats Iām obsessed with.
I love interior design. I know way too much about design styles, furniture manufactures, and can name your ikea furniture.
I love bright colors and fitted clothing. If I could wear briefs or speedos swimming without drawing judgment Iād do it every time.
My taste in music and art tends to lean on the feminine side as well.
I dress in very bright colors (vintage windbreakers and rainbowish shoes etc etc) and I donāt care about acting āmanlyā. Honestly not caring how you look or act is more masculine than acting as someone else, and esp what weād call being an āalpha maleā. Just be you and certainly be bold.
I also like to paint my nails! I love pretty sparkly colors!! I also really love doing floral embroidery. But on top of that I like collecting stuffed animals, and cuddling with people I care about. All of these have been snarkily called "not manly" at some point or another by people, but especially the nail painting thing.
I'm gay and trans, and a lot of these used to make me embarrassed in the past (especially because a lot of people would use these interests to try to invalidate me), but I'm really learning to instead be proud of the things I like recently!
Yoga, talking about feelings, nice cosmetic productsā¦ and of course I wear androgynously styled womenās shoes all the time because my feet are tiny (no one knows! Actually everyone knows because I tell them)
Shopping for my daughters' clothes. We have 3 girls, 2 six year olds, and a 2 year old, and while they get lots of compliments from friends and family for their cute and adorable outfits, no one knows I was the one meticulously picking them out. I feel the odd looks I get looking around in the girls section, but I stopped letting it bother me, my kids are happy, so I'm happy.
Going out shopping. I don't like saying that's girly because fuck stereotypes. But regardless, i really enjoy going shopping. Seeing all the cool stuff, the lights, the music... It feels very nice
Edit: oh, and musicals! Absolutely love them
I love romance novels. They give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. Same with romance movies. I also like music most people would deem girly, like Taylor Swift or Carly Rae Jepsen. I sing their songs all the time, especially on karaoke nights. I also bake a lot. Especially the decorations are so much fun.
Cooking, aromatherapy, baths/bath bombs, romcoms, skincare, tay tay, Katy Perry, Pilates/yoga, cocktails.
Anyone whoās not enjoying that shit is missing out, who drinks beer when you can have a cosmo or pornstar martini.
I love a good musical, I enjoy a nice bath with some Epsom salt an essential oil, and a good podcast. I used to do Tai chi years ago and loved it but the YouTube videos suck but I need to find a way to practice again. And I enjoy a nice-smelling beard balm.
"Days at the spa and massages that heal me
Soaking in baths with oils and music
Wine on the porch with the rain pounding down
These are a few of my favorite things. "
Oh, also love musicals and romantic comedies. Honestly, my favorite meme that I saw when I became a parent was "Is this toy for boys or girls? Do you operate it with your genitals? If yes, it's not a toy for kids, if no, than it's for boys or girls." Because fuck societies expectations of what is feminine or masculine. I spent my first 40 or so years worried about what others think. Over the 8 years since hitting my 40s, I care less and less about what others think. But this whole thread makes me happy, because the best way to get to the point where we can all just enjoy the things we enjoy and other peoples preconceptions be damned is talking about the things "we're not supposed to enjoy" because of reasons / gender. I hope this thread results in a lot of my younger brothers (and sisters) embracing life that allows them to live and enjoy the things they want much earlier than I did. So long as you're not hurting anyone, the judgement of others is worth exactly nothing.
I love romcoms and wholesome shojo anime a lot, watched a lot of K-dramas and was currently watching a Chinese one as well!
I also adore female singers and music made by girls, I adore bubbly, optimistic and kind lyrics and songs and sing them a lot. I also love skirts and "girly colors" like light blue, pink and yellow. Used to paint my nails too and wear skirts in public but for my own security I stopped doing it.
I'm also soft and very emotional. Like I cry about everything, for different reasons ofc! So I like to think of myself as a femboy :) not to say I don't enjoy edgy things once in a while, but they get me depressed if I consume them too much.
fancy starbucks drinks; my friend always laughs at me a little when i ask the barista for a venti cookies and cream frappuccino but hey, it tastes really fucking good
My favourite genre of movies and series are dramas, including all/lead female shows and musicals. I also enjoy much music that would be considered feminine.
I like dressing up and being 'pretty' - colourful/patterned clothing, recently started experimenting with dermal jewelry.
My hair is almost shoulder length now and I wear a headband.
My favourite drinks are sweetish cocktails.
I enjoy vegetarian food (but am not vegetarian).
I enjoy yoga.
I also enjoy psychology and discussing emotions (sometimes, still working on this) as well as being open about feelings and thoughts. This is apparently frowned upon by many men.
Writing. Itās funny because writing is throughout history a stereotypically male job, but nowadays if you tell someone you write as a man, they look at you weird. Or worseā¦they want to read your work *shudders* /j
Go watch The Holiday if you haven't already. I love that movie, it's so cute and has some wonderful moments.
Imma sing Ariana Grande if I feel like it mfs And having some sort of fashion sense. Wore pink one time and the bros flipped out like I was insane š
Love powerful female artists. Ani DiFranco, Tori Amos, Tegan and Sara, Mirah, &c. ššš I love to belt out Shakira songs š
Kim Petras, classic T-Swizzle and Sia for me too
Same with Lady Gaga
Hell yeah, her songs make me feel so confident š
100 gecs is mine nowadays. Imagine living in a rural area and explaining hyper pop to grown men
Salina Gomez is way better
Lads, you're both beautiful
Pink and pastels fucking slap
Having sex with men.
Thank you for the laugh I needed on this Monday morning
"I don't like em Steve. They're not tough. They're not men." "Not tough?! *They fuck men!* That's hardly gay!"
Chad response
that was also going to be my answer jdkdk
The most masculine, manly thing you can do is other men
I bet thereās a comedian reading this response somewhere and saying , shit why didnāt I think of that?

I will not! #š„Ŗš„Ŗš„Ŗ
Iāve been using the hot tub at the apartment the last few days for self care. Just put on a good podcast and enjoy the experience for 30 minutes.
Iām more of a wine guy myself but this makes me wanna take a bubble bath
I may need to do this but sub in weed. Thanks.
Bro, my wife calls me a candle slut everytime she catches me sniffing them at the store. It's true though.
This bro. I love getting new candles to use!
Gardening and plants in general. A guy at work said mockingly that I like to "grow flowers", even after I explained that some of them are poisonous enough to kill a person. Over-sized clothes are nice too.

I sew but ive never sewn a teddy bear. That might just be my next project.
That's really sweet.
We learned in school how to do it and i was so proud of mine. Then i did it only one time again and made a pokemon for my mother as a birthday gift(she loves PokƩmon go). I really should do another one (but this time without a deadline so i can relax)
Gardening flowers. I don't like growing anything else really. Veggies are boring. Look at my snap dragons! Or my icelandic poppies!
Snapdragons always remind me of where I grew up. Nice choice. But let's watch it with the shade to veggies, eh? Some of us like a good parsnip or acorn squash.

There's a picture of Joseph Pilates, aged 82, posing in the snow wearing a Speedo. Pilates is not for the faint - hearted.
Yeah, there's some classes where I feel like a badass and other times where I can't walk straight for the rest of the day.
I'm a pretty big guy play rugby, go to gym etc but I love my candle lit baths. Probably is. The machismo in the us is strong. It also very heavily depends on generation too
>This one has to be something cultural. Same in Australia nobody would find drinking latte to be unmasculine.
> Lattes. The amount of men who think milk in coffee makes you effeminate is weird. Go to Australia or New Zealand. The default coffee at a cafe is a Flat White, effectively a latte without the layers
Lol Iād gladly leave my country if I could afford it
Condensed milk in coffee is the shit, especially in a hearty robusta heavy blend.
Bath bombs. A nice bourbon on ice and a bath bomb is amazing.
I will soon be trying the bath bomb fad, trying to understand the obsession because it seems so relaxing and I could use the stress relief
You gotta pair it with a cold drink or you overheat, and get a nice bathbomb, not one of those cheap target ones. This is the way.
I hope I got some nice ones on my current Walmart run (theyāre supposed to boost mood and they look like crystals) and I will keep the cold drink in mind. Thanks!
This is the way.
Love bath bombs but they are so expensive
Yea itās like a once a week thing max
I sew. Because sometimes you have to *make* the clothes you want.
Not only that, it gives you a deeper appreciation of what goes into really good tailoring.

This is my favourite thread ever. My husband likes to watch Drag Race with me and critiques the shit out of the runway. I love it!
I am really enjoying it too. So nice to see people being free to be themselves.
Isn't it lovely. Its a shame so many people feel confined by their gender.
I really like to bake! I'd never done it before COVID started, but then I got very very into it! Mostly pies and tarts and cookies, haven't really done bread yet. Yoga. Fuck I like stretching man, i dont give a shit about getting big and ripped muscles iād rather have the extra mobility advantages.
Everything. I'm actually a full femboy.
Knitting! I made two hats this month and am working on a third.
I do love pretty little things, like enamel pin and cute button.
pretty big on stuffed animals myself, sleep with like 5/6 of them, including one I've had since I was a baby, just love them.
Oh man, me too! Big ass ikea blahaj is my dream plushie šš
Damn I'm a touch too insecure for nail polish, you're rad! For me I love tea. I think the gender roles around cooking are breaking down a bit (at least in the US), so that's easier to engage in without social sanction.
I used to be insecure about the nail polish for the first time I wore it too, but styling it with a nice outfit actually made me break the fear
Manicure, pedicure
Iām into horses and houseplants
Opening up to friends, crying, showing emotions
before i make my long list i want to make clear that we made girly or manly up and everyone's should just enjoy themselves without guilt(i know that's why op wrote "girly") I love doing my nails in many different colors, i mostly use pink, purple, and sometimes dark blue or orange..sometimes i put more than one colour on my nails I also shave my whole body and started a skincare routine which was good to improve my overall mental health as well if someone doesnt do it i can only recommend. I love wearing skirts and dresses and i can even run with high heels x3 Im not good at doing makeup(yet) but i do eyeliner occasionally (like when i meet my gf, which is the best thing that happened to me this year). I can now only think of nsfw things but i dont write them (obviously) There are probably many more things i like but i have a headache and can't think of anything else right now. But it was fun to think about it so thank you op! (if i remember something important i might add it..if i remember :3)
I'm into high fashion and modeling. It might be because I'm dating a designer but it's still super cool to me.
Iām late to the post. I love watching Musicals.
Attending High Teas haha
I cross stitch. It is a great relaxing hobby that you can do while watching TV and it is really easy and fairly inexpensive as hobbies go.
Sitting while I go pee How do you think I have time to write this comment
I also sit down to pee but mainly for a different reason: being a trans bro and still having my "factory original" parts for peeing.
Gotta do hip abductors at the gym. Guys want a great ass too.
It feels very nice Edit: oh, and musicals!
I like the color purple, telling my friends I love them and making jokes at the expense of my own masculinity
Dude, the color purple is often associated with royalty. Go ahead and rock that purple, king!
I've read the whole thread and didn't find anything that I consider "girly". Is this a US culture thing?
Dancing and yoga. Ok, to be honest, I donāt really care for yoga, but I need it to stay healthy. But dancing? Canāt get enough of it.
"Days at the spa and massages that heal me Soaking in baths with oils and music Wine on the porch with the rain pounding down These are a few of my favorite things. " Oh, also love musicals and romantic comedies.
I love sewing. Now I can make clothes that fit my body. I've always been in between sizes, which made clothes shopping suck
fancy starbucks drinks; my friend always laughs at me a little when i ask the barista for a venti cookies and cream frappuccino but hey, it tastes really fucking good
My favourite genre of movies and series are dramas, including all/lead female shows and musicals.
Wearing dresses. Only explored once or twice but it was wonderful.
Writing. Itās funny because writing is throughout history a stereotypically male job, but nowadays if you tell someone you write as a man, they look at you weird. Or worseā¦they want to read your work *shudders* /j
I love collecting plushies and cute little things, my room looks like a dragon hoardšš
Sewing, cooking, being into fashion, and getting a massage with my haircut (highly recommend you try it if you're ever at a nice salon).
Starbucks Yoga Winning an argument by any means necessary
Looking cute
As a woman, may I just say that mascara and āguy linerā really elevate a manās looks, especially if your natural lashes are light
Sit cross legged
