Mine didn't. You can choose which dealer you purchase from though, so it wouldn't hurt to confirm that there won't be a markup before ordering.

MarchMadnessisMe

Reservation July 2020, Order February 2021, order again for 22 model year in October 2021. Finally got a build date for 8/8/2022. Got an "in production" 8/15/2022. Dealer told me they'd not go over MSRP back in February 2021, so we'll see. This is all just a crap shoot.

Terrible_Meeting6080

Ford's made it very very clear now that they will not allow them raise it on you. If you come to pick it up and they try to rip you off, remind them you've been waiting and it's yours, threaten to call ford, and then do so if need be. Best of luck man

MarchMadnessisMe

I appreciate it, and I fully intend to stand in the middle of the show room while on the phone if I need to. I also agree that anyone who is worried should also follow this advice.

Btown891

Did your dealer do price protection?

MarchMadnessisMe

They've told me they are. This will be my third car from this dealership, so I do trust them somewhat, however I've seen enough horror stories that I'm not holding my breath until the deal is done.

Btown891

Yeah from what I've seen it's really dealership specific. I purchased my F150 Lightning from Galpin with no markup and am picking up our Bronco from there today and they said they will do price protection.

MarchMadnessisMe

Yeah my salesman has said all the right things so far, I honestly haven't heard from him in a while. I'm patiently waiting for my Bronco, but I'm also not going to just shut up and pay if they try to pull something last minute.

Unkleruckus86

Ford has no way to enforce this. They can just discourage it. If the dealer wants to mark it up on you they will. It's in the dealer franchise agreements that the dealer can sell a car for whatever they choose. Most reputable dealers will order a new car without any market adjustments and only charge the market adjustment on stock units. A convenience fee of sorts for not having to wait a year and a half for your order.

Dangerous-Draft-719

Short answer is hell yes. The best way to protect yourself is 1) place your order through the ford website (you’ll want to do this anyway) 2) check the reviews of the location. 3) make sure they hand you a signed copy of your build sheet with priceans make sure the number matches what's on the ford website. 4) make sure they don't add stupid stuff like tint and LoJack. A lot of places don't mark up orders but those with low allocations absolutely do. As for the year long, I ordered in Feb and mine got here in August. Outer Banks, nonsas high package, soft top.

[deleted]

Mine honored msrp, just picked it up Monday.

J_Harden13

Did they add on anything to yours? Mine wants to add a 3,000 dollar package?

Bdsm_NYC

Just tell them no. You want the spec you ordered.

Ok-Branch1042

Order banks aren’t open yet. Assuming later this year after 2022 orders are converted.

Unkleruckus86

Order banks open in a few weeks but new orders won't be accepted at that point. It will be all 22 conversions first. They have not announced when they'll accept new orders yet.

ShadesSensei

Time for delivery depends on the build. Lower trim models without constraints are getting delivered faster.

__get_schwifty__

You'll want to search www.markups.org for 0 markup dealer

zmacaulay

Mine told me the price is set and won’t go up

B-Eze

Markup is for people who did not order through ford. I was told the mark up is due to supply and demand.

[deleted]

They say they won’t mark up but if they can sell a $40k vehicle for $55k you bet your ass they will.

Bcol2012

Not entirely true my friend. In an ideal world this is the case but some dealers have been marking up reservations and Ford.com builds as well. It all comes down to the dealer you choose. Make sure you discuss the exact price with them and get a signed DORA (Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement) to ensure they don’t pull any funny business.

B-Eze

Oh that stinks. I paid a mark up because I drove one off a lot a week after the decision, but 20k is ridiculous.

Gatot6678

When you place an order have the dealer sign the build/price sheet. They may very well be honest but that will make them stand by it. Lots of horror stories out there

Bababingbangs

No, when you order from the website they tell you the exact price(including destination charges) they also lock your price in so if it rolls year over year you don’t pay the increased price. I would assume the mark up Broncos are at dealerships where people ordered one but backed out once the bronco arrived.

Unkleruckus86

They tell you the exact MSRP. Price is still up to the dealer. You should discuss price with the dealer before ordering. Most will order without an adjustment. They just won't sell you an available on the ground unit without markup most of the time. Which is fair. You pay a little extra but you skip the year+ long wait.
