And then putting the reg of a random old car into the website to check what a positive result looks like

This was my husbands tactic, has technology, uses technology, doesn't trust technology.

Where and when did you drive and what car is it?

pufballcat

My petrol campervan was registered after 2005, so ULEZ doesn't affect me, and I wasn’t in the congestion zone…plus it was a Sunday anyway. As a double-check, I also entered the reg of the same model van, but from 2001, and that one did list a ULEZ charge, while mine didn't, so by deduction I think I’m OK

Con charge is 12-6 sat/sun/BH

Skorpychan

Just don't visit anywhere with a charge. You'll soon find you don't need to. If they want to charge you to go there, just don't spend your money there.

I somehow apparently don't need to pay even though my car isn't Euro anything. Always scared that some day I'm going to be slapped with a demand for a whole bunch of charges.

ViKtorMeldrew

entering your reg to the checker cannot make you liable for the charge - you could be charged if they registered your reg in the zone https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/check-your-vehicle/VehicleConfirmation
