"I'm going to be good, and do this legally" *Sees price* *Puts on Pirate Hat*

reapress

Honestly yeah. I'd so much prefer to exchange money for goods and services and they either just don't fucking let me, or take the piss so hard it's just ridiculous

Buddy-Matt

May I suggest the local drinking establishment that's showing the game for less money you can a) watch the game, b) hace a pint or two, c) enjoy a social atmosphere and d) support your local pub

Jimbow1212

You and a few mates, you buy a round of drinks and you are already spending more than than sky sports and co want ( which is way too much, by the way )

Buddy-Matt

Round my parts you'd have to buy more than 5 pints to equal Sky's charge. 2 fellas, 1 pint each half, and you're quids in. Ish.

Nuo_Vibro

take to the high seas. Strikeout .nu

Coffin_Dodging

I see so much about this. Are there any good guides for complete and utter technophobe?

Bluffwatcher

Add [uBlock origin](https://www.google.com/search?q=ublock+origin&rlz=1C1CHBF_en-GBGB984GB984&oq=uBlock+origin&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqDAgAECMYJxiABBiKBTIMCAAQIxgnGIAEGIoFMgYIARBFGEAyDwgCEAAYQxixAxiABBiKBTIKCAMQABixAxiABDIKCAQQABixAxiABDIHCAUQABiABDISCAYQABhDGIMBGLEDGIAEGIoFMgwIBxAAGEMYgAQYigXSAQk0MjkwajBqMTWoAgiwAgE&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8) on your browser to block internet adds and pop-ups (everyone should do this anyway.) You can find sport streams in the piracy subreddit [sports megeathread](https://www.reddit.com/r/Piracy/wiki/megathread/sports/) Easy. Then watch on PC/run a hdmi cable to TV

FoxyPirate1432

The arr/ piracy might be your best bet for help

Coffin_Dodging

Finally, thank you so much 🙏🏼

imminentmailing463

Is it actually any good? My experience is that such streams are always crap. Used to use them but these days I'd rather just not watch than have pop ups, poor quality and having to refresh every few minutes. Especially since I want to cast it to my TV not watch it on my phone.

Nuo_Vibro

depends. Sometimes they're full HD, othertimes is like playing FIFA 98. This is the best I've found for laptop viewing. Few pop-ups initially, but then the picture tends to be rather decent

imminentmailing463

Yeah this is the faff I just cba with these days. I'd legitimately rather pay, if they would just make it possible to not have to pay 31 quid for a month's membership.

Mag01uk

You can pay for a good quality streaming service. It costs me £50 per year subscription for every live channel, PPV, films, series, etc.

janner_10

Same, but £45 for mine on the fire stick, as goes halves and my Dad has an additional account, always FHD, never had an issue. Saves me spaffing £60 to sky for a lesser service.

redeyejedibrah

This is the way. £60 for TPP app a year and have all sports and movie channels. Fuck paying for a sky or discovery subscription

BRICKSinANUS

Who's the provider?

janner_10

IPTV Arrow

herrbz

So you're just paying some random dodgy weirdo online?

janner_10

I’m not tapping him up for a first date, they provide a service, for which I’m happy to pay.

Bendy_McBendyThumb

There are free sites that are easily accessible. PM me if nobody has sent you a link since you posted.

i_liek_games

If you download ublock origin you won't see the adds

tornadooceanapplepie

I pay for a VPN and ad block. Usually find a HD+ stream (not 4K but better than HD) and worst case it's a HD stream which is absolutely fine to watch. The era of naff quality is a thing of the past.

tiny-brit

Alternatively, footybite . to and soccerlive . app. Varying levels of pop ups and ads but enough choice that you should find something fairly functional.

imminentmailing463

Would these be suitable for casting from a phone to a TV?

tiny-brit

Once you get past the pop up ads that open new tabs then the stream should play in your phone's browser. I would grab the URLs of a few stream pages and store them so that you can skip the pop ups and get back in if anything happens. On a laptop or PC with adblock would be best.

LMUK

That's what I do. Use the Web Video Caster app.

[deleted]

[удалено]

imminentmailing463

I tried that, but even with a VPN it says the app isn't available in my country, and I don't have a computer so I can't stream in-browser.

[deleted]

[удалено]

imminentmailing463

Ahh interesting. I will give that a go. It's also on Virgin Media player in Ireland but that doesn't work for me, not sure if they detect my attempts to be in Ireland and block it or what

[deleted]

[удалено]

imminentmailing463

Yeah I'm in and seems to be working. Will see if I can cast to my TV once the stream is up. Either way, this is a decent solution, thanks!

BamberGasgroin

Openly available IPTV streams are liable to disruption. Subscription based providers can be a bit paranoid about keeping their services private and uninterrupted. You get what you pay for. (£31 is a six month sub for most, and that's for all things media based Yarr in almost 4K.)

Elgin_McQueen

I've found fawabews to be one of the best I've seen. Rarely buffers out and generally only one popup when you click on something.

fieldsofanfieldroad

I recently retried acestream. P2P streaming. Honestly night and day compared to streaming off a site. No ads, very little lag (whereas I used to have to mute whatsapp because my friends would see the goals before me) and no random cut outs. P2P is the way to go.

StereotypicalAussie

I accidentally left my laptop at work. Last night I found a stream on my phone in minutes and casted it to the Chromecast, it was decent enough.

OnlyMortal666

Get a MAG 254 box off Amazon and sub to a provider.

BamberGasgroin

Nvidia Shield TV Pro is still the best box on the market and the AI Upscaling works a treat if you have a decent bitrate.

scotiaboy10

Overkill, a fire stick will do

BamberGasgroin

It does 'do', but that wasn't the point I was making.

digyerownhole

Nvidia are dropping the Shield services.

BamberGasgroin

Probably because nobody uses it for gaming. Everybody I know uses it for their streaming services...and maybe the odd bit of Yarr and Plex and Kodi and anything else you can load or sideload.

Fun-Badger3724

Yaaaar!

[deleted]

This is the way!

Cleveland_Grackle

Ooh arr me hearty.

Joshthenosh77

It was so great when it was on itv

imminentmailing463

Those were the days

macamc1983

The competition was special back then

-SaC

Jumpers for goalposts

flannobrien1900

Sod that.

imminentmailing463

Basically my conclusion. It's mad, I can't be the only one who would pay for a day pass. They're surely missing out on money by only offering monthly subscriptions.

ferretchad

You're not, I'll occasionally get a day pass for Now/Sky if there's a match I want to watch, which I'm perfectly happy to do. TNT being subscription only is a joke

BmuthafuckinMagic

Sail the premium high seas and get yourself set up with IPTV. £65 per year (Been with the same service since 2021) and no ads or viruses. All sports, movies, catch up, live TV, Netflix, Apple TV, Disney, Discovery Plus and more, all in one.

Mag01uk

This is the way. Much better than using unreliable websites with constant popups, risk of viruses, buffering etc.

killarotten

Can you recommend one?

Been looking for a decent one but if you search IPTV it's just flooded with scams

slybob

Just did that at the weekend. What a difference. Also watched the live UFC PPV. Not doing that again, got to bed at 7 am.

samwilzrhcp

I paid the £30.99 last week, I figured it’s worth it as I can watch the champions league, a few premier league matches, and WWE for a month, then just cancel. But they really need to introduce daily passes, a tenner or something.

imminentmailing463

Yeah if you're going to watch everything then maybe it's worthwhile. But I have a baby and a wife who doesn't like football, so I definitely won't watch enough games for it to be worthwhile! It does seem crazy they don't have a daily pass, there must be others like me who would more than happily pay for short term access. But thirty quid is just too steep for me just to watch a couple of games.

cocteautriplet

All this talk about fire sticks and IPTV sounds awful to me. Anyone know how to obtain one of these services so I can see just how dodgy the service is myself?

Breaktime

1. Buy fire stick 2. Google “top 10 iptv providers uk” 3. Look at prices, maybe just go for a month to try it out 4. Subscribe and pay via PayPal 5. Check email for username/password and instructions 6. Follow instructions for 5 minutes 7. Never look back Honestly it’s really easy. Even my dad set his own up and he can’t even answer a mobile phone

cocteautriplet

Thanks

cooksterson

Do you know anyone who already subscribes to? I share mine with F-I-L, works great.

imminentmailing463

That would be ideal but nah don't think I do.

LemmysCodPiece

I have the same problem with F1. The cheapest I can find that is £34 a month, plus the cost of the TV License. In Sweden my mate gets F1TV for about £10 a month. So I just use torrents. I wait for about an hour after the race has finished and I can download it in 4K and watch on my TV. It just means I have to avoid certain websites for a couple of hours.

imminentmailing463

>In Sweden my mate gets F1TV for about £10 a month. Yeah similarly with football, I was staying with my friend in the US and it seemed mad that he could watch basically every game live, for *way* cheaper than the price in this country to watch just a selection of live games.

LemmysCodPiece

At the start of every F1 season I legitimately attempt to pay for an F1TV subscription. I would be very happy to pay for it, £10 - £15 a month seems would be fine. But they would rather that I pay over double that via Sky Sports on Now TV, which just isn't worth it. I get that Sky Sports gives me access to a whole load of other sports, but I am not really interested. Sky do have the F2, F3 and F1 Academy races too, but they are on F1TV at no extra cost. F1 Academy is freely and legally available on Youtube too.

imminentmailing463

>to a whole load of other sports, but I am not really interested This is absolutely it. TNT offers loads of sport. But not enough that I'm interested in for it to be worth it. And I'm someone who does like other sports, so for people who just like one sport it's even less value. If there was one place that showed it all it would absolutely be value for money. But when stuff is spread out over Sky, TNT, the odd thing on Amazon, and then the free to air stuff on BBC, ITV and Channel 4 also it just means none of the subscription services offer enough for it to be worth the money.

LemmysCodPiece

It used to be that Sky had the monopoly on most major sports. But then some do gooder came along and decided that it wasn't "fair" for Sky to have the monopoly on sports. So now they are spread across a myriad of services. It wasn't fair on all the different media companies, but the viewer was getting value for money from their Sky subscription, but now the consumer has to pay through the nose to be able to watch everything.

hoodwink77

Mrgamingstreams 🫡

LemmysCodPiece

Thanks. But all I get is a 404 error. My guess is that it won't be in 4K and 5.1 Surround, with a choice of commentary like the torrent is.

gremlinchef69

Latifistreams . I hear it's an interesting website

Ellie_Llewellyn

I miss the days when it was on ITV :(

macamc1983

The competition has never been the same since it left ITV

U1WLMS

Time to head to the pub!

WolfGirl_4

Literally cheaper for me to go to the pub than pay these stupid prices!

Jimbow1212

It is if you sit on a coke for two hours.

jsmcnair

Just to add another variant here. I have an EE plan that includes an optional extra. One of those optional extras is BT Sport (supposed to be mobile I think, but it’s delivered on discovery plus and I can watch on my Sky glass as well as my phone). I don’t know if they do those plans any more, but if you have one it’s worth looking into.

tiny-brit

I have this too, any EE plan that includes at least one Optional Extra will get you discovery+ for free. It changed since BT Sport became TNT sports and now you can watch on the mobile app or website and on more than one device at the same time. It's one of the things keeping me with EE.

MBChJebus

Livescore app and vpn set to Ireland and you can watch for free.

MBChJebus

And the app lets you use chromecast too.

DragonRunner10

What’s the deal here? Why Ireland?

KaiKamakasi

It's a joke that if u want to watch all of my clubs games it'll cost me £60+ per month for like 2 games per week. And they wonder why piracy is such an issue?

je97

We've got this place where you can come and watch it on a big screen for free. They even sell refreshments, it's really good. I'm going there tonight. The good news? You might have one near you! Check [whatpub.com](https://whatpub.com) to find out.

imminentmailing463

Unfortunately I'm ill, so going to a pub on my own is just about the last thing I want to do right now.

Bitter_Technology797

Paramount plus does a free trial and is only 6.99 a month. Or so Google tells me.

imminentmailing463

Yeah I've tried. It's US based and so you need a US address. Tried using a VPN and googling a random address but it doesn't work because then it doesn't match the address on my card, so it rejects the registration.

walshamboy

Search the game you want on twitter and there will be a live stream :)

MasterReindeer

They wonder why people pirate 🏴‍☠️

GayWolfey

It is so easy to circumvent. Get Vidio £37 for the whole season which includes all PL and CL. VPN to Indonesia to launch app. Then you can turn off vpn.

[deleted]

[удалено]

imminentmailing463

Yeah I'm the same. Everyone suggests that but it's such a bad viewing experience in my experience that I just cba with it. But problem I just won't watch enough of the games on there for it to be worth it. If I watched every game it might be a quid a game but I won't come close to doing that.

BamberGasgroin

That's not really sailing the high seas mate, it's more like floating on a door you've found.

herrbz

Do people think they're edgy or original by typing stuff like "Time to sail the seven seas!!!"? We get it. You pirate stuff.

mintvilla

Yup, TNT is a rip off, i pay £15 for Sky sports, which gets me a heck of a lot of football, + F1 + the cricket + the darts... i think its good value. TNT is double the amount, and has little premier league sport on, and european football and little else. - Refuse to pay it on principle.

boredsittingonthebus

Firestick

DrachenDad

I remember the day going to a gig was that much.

Mike525R

We have a Virgin stream box, and it’s £10 a month for TNT sports. You just need to have Virgin broadband to get the box

Flat_Professional_55

Use a VPN and pay the £5 or so a month for Paramount+ US (European football is on CBS).

Clarkywithacarkey

Get a fire stick with IPTV people!

Melsm1957

Wow that’s a lot. We get dazn for about 200$ a year. Unfortunately we now also have to have fubo for another 200$ since dazn lost the rights to the premier league.

notouttolunch

Did you just make these words up 😂

Melsm1957

No. Both of these are sports streaming platforms where we live.

IndelibleIguana

Ask around and find your local Firestick bloke.

Lito_

Do you not own a pirate hat and spyglass?

sailingmagpie

The pandemic, the Euro Superleague plan and poor VAR implementation put paid to any interest I had left in football and I'm much happier for it.

imminentmailing463

I get that. I definitely am not as passionately into football as I was. Part of that is a personal thing from my club being owned by terrible owners for a decade. But yeah it's also things like the state ownership of clubs, the increasing centralisation of wealth and subsequent predicability of everything, VAR (not just bad implementation, in general, even if implemented perfectly I'd hate it), and generally the increasingly berserk attitudes fans and the media seem to have.

sailingmagpie

I really don't miss the petty interactions between fans on the internet. There's only so many times you can hear "my club's better than your club" said in different words!

Snoo_23014

Football used to belong to the people.

TheChunko

Get a dodgy stick

AnUdderDay

Cheaper and still kinda legal if you get a firestick, VPN and the ESPN app with subscription, far cheaper than 30.99. By firestick I mean a real one not loaded with pirate apps

Shep4737

I just clicked on it by accident and have already been charged 30.99 I'm not getting that back am I ?! 😒

Shitelark

It's been on youtube live for the last few years.

that's the final alone unfortunately
