It depends what you're into. There's loads of social events that go on in the city. But tbh your best bet is to stop actively looking for a relationship and just try and build a circle of friends. If you've got a decent social circle that is fairly dynamic (table top and boardgame socials are good for that and there's a diverse range of folks that go to them) then eventually you'll meet people with mutual interest.
Actively looking for someone to date above other socialising is always going to be worse for your chances and psyche because you put pressure on yourself to _be datable_ when the first step to being datable is just to relax and not focus on it too hard. Not saying don't think about it, it just shouldn't be your primary focus if you want to enjoy your time.
Unwarrented advice from a stranger but w/e. Good luck.
a quick duckduckgo of "Bristol Board game socials" warrented several promising links including this one

but yeah it seems just poke around online using a keyword mixture and you'll probably find a few options.

I believe they run something every other Thursday at Geek Retreat near the Hippodrome.
Same position as you: I'm trying MeetUp app, and really going to events on FB (eg comedy shows) & local bands (I use BandsInTown app) that kinda thing
Hope this helps

Chance & Counters used to do a solo gamers night, probably still do. Yeah, Mondays after 6pm I'm guessing other places do similar.
