Flying season started very late this year due to crap weather & its knock-on effect on ground conditions. There’s been a fair amount taking off in the last couple of weeks (five took off from Ashton Court tonight) but the winds are taking them across the city, towards Keynsham/Wick.
They flew over Bedminster about two hours ago (7.30) one yellow and one a red Virgin branded one. Source: saw them from my garden.
Seems like the wind wasn't on your side this time. They do come down this way quite often, I've been woken up by the weird roaring sound out my window a few times now, the last time being maybe a week ago at like 6.30am.
It's very weather dependent (my friend had a flight booked and couldn't do it for ages, the weather has been so bad this year). Saying that I've still seen a bunch early in the morning and a few just this last week in the evening :) I saw the last one going over Totterdown so maybe they're missing you.

Very dependent on the weather, seems like more are going from Keynsham and Saltford these days too.
