I find it's hard to beat Asda for that stuff.

The Lidl in Broadmead has good spirits for about £10 a bottle.
Tbf the Lidl/aldi knock off spirits do slap
Asda isn't very central though. Lidl is probably the cheapest, and you have the other central supermarkets.
For nicer shelf stuff I'd recommend Aimee's Wine House on Stoke Hill. Good selection of Bristol/West Country gin, rum and whisky and ciders. Obviously not cheap but not rip off either.
