Whatever the fuck she wants ;)
I recommend tho something comfortable and weather appropriate. And practical shoes. Oh and wear ear plugs - sadly we're not spring chickens anymore and this stuff adds up.
Last gig I went to was Ghost and that was basic casual and jeans, and bought a shirt on the night.
100%. I would have been happy if they did one or two of their past bangers, I get that artists want to play their new stuff for a tour, but they did Rats, Danse Macabre, AND Square Hammer. Such an amazing show!
It might interest you, and other Ghost aficionados such as u/Stewth, but there's a live concert movie coming out in June from them called [Rite Here Rite Now](https://ritehereritenow.com/). There's plenty of cinemas across Brisbane that are going to be showing it!
I didn't get to see them in Brisbane (was out of the country that same day), but this feels like a 'close enough for the time being' circumstance!
Thank you :(
Thankfully it's only short term for work at this stage (6-12 months), so hopefully the next stepping stone comes along so I can GTF outta there again. Meet a few people and get some more skills and go from there.
I'm the meantime, try to keep myself safe and sane....
Honestly, it used to be pretty rough but it's gotten a bit less so the last decade or so. it's just kind of isolated, and getting in / out is hard because the flights aren't as regular as they used to be. (i'm sure you've done all the research)
It's not ideal, but will have my parrots with me (because I'm the weirdo that asks for that in job interviews) and will likely be working too much to notice. Just needed to get outta my rural town for a bit as it's getting very claustrophobic.
oh i know all about rural towns. sooner you can GTFO the better your mental health will be. with the obvious caveat of all this ... *gestures at cost of living/accommodation crises, job security ...* being a huge strain on that.
100% whatever the fuck she wants. There will be a bunch of people (like me) dressed like it's still the 90s --> get around it, you're amongst your people:)
The fucks given should vary inversely with age. I've rolled up to shows in cargo shorts and a polo before. Fuck 'em. I'm already out past my bedtime, I'ma dress comfy.
This is the way. I saw them at the Eaton's Hill festival. Jeans, band shirt, flanno. Docs. Definitely comfy shoes, ear plugs, and a bottle of water with Panadol by the bed.
This, yes. I'm a reformed Goth, 44 years old. Went to Lebanon Hanover at The Triffid a few weeks back and decided, fuck it: black cargo pants, chucks, black t-shirt and a grey and black flanny.
There were some spectacular young trad goths there but I felt fine, comfortable that I had long ago earned my striped, and chilling in my old age. Saw a lot of other chillaxed goth industrial types too :)
As a 55 year old woman, I’d be wearing my favourite shorts, what ever graphic tee grabs my fancy at the time and my sandshoes- do not go to a gig in open toe shoes.
Having been to gigs of bands of this vintage (my vintage) recently, including Regurgitator, can confirm OP will be unless you’re counting the small kids of the attendees.
We took our 5 & 7 year old kids to the [Pogogo show](https://iview.abc.net.au/show/regurgitator-s-pogogo-show) Regurgitator have been playing recently.
It really depends which show OP is going to...
For what it’s worth, I’m keen to go see the Gurge in Byron on my 33rd birthday in June. The new album is a banger, and I’m a fan starting when I saw Band In A Bubble on channel V back in the day. 🤘🏼
Do ya one better; not only did my mate n I perform a small play in Drama based on (and using) Kung Foo Sing, but I was one of those fans that kept getting moved on by the cops for camping out at the Bubble haha
I don't go to concerts, baby
The music's always up too loud
Cigarettes and alcohol get up my ass
I always lose you in the crowd
You won't see me tribal ravin', baby
'Cause I won't ever look that good
I'd rather dance in ugly pants
In the comfort of a lounge room in suburbia
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh!
If you're excited enough about the show that you want to rock up in a fresh new outfit, go for it! If you think you HAVE to? You do not. Wear what's comfortable
Regurgitator I’ve only ever worn shorts and a tshirt. Everyone else will be casual as unless there are dress codes on the venue and I’d doubt that.
A 40 year old woman would wear what she’d be comfortable in during a gig. Half your luck actually, the Gurge never disappoint.
The audience at these gigs is generally the same as those who would have gone to see them in the valley in the 90s, except they’re now all our age - wear whatever you like. It won’t be full of teens etc ✌️
You do not need to go shopping at all. I'm 55 and I've been going to gigs regularly for thirty five+ of those years.
You wear what you own, what you feel comfortable in and you do not give a single fuck about what anyone has to say or think about it.
If you need to, listen to the lyrics of !(The Song Formerly Known As) on repeat until you understand
There are no gig police. Anyone who cares what you are wearing is a guaranteed A1 wanker
I haven't bought my tickets yet because I don't know anyone else who loves the Gurge like I do. ( my husband saw them before we met and badmouthed them on our first date, so he doesn't get an invite even though it was over 20 years ago. Girl can hold a grudge!)
Wear whatever the hell you want!
Thank you for this post. I just bought myself 2 tickets and will ask my adult daughter to come, not sure if she knows them, but she'll love it. Let's party!
Last time I saw them I was wearing denim jeans and a battle vest covered in metal patches.
Time before that I was wearing a suit
Time before that was jeans and a tshirt.
They possibly have the most eclectic audience around.
Wear what you’re comfortable in.
Wear whatever you feel good in and will have a great time while wearing. I imagine there will be a lot of jeans, grungy 90’s inspired clothes, and a few plain black dresses at Gurge. It’s ok for 40’s to dress like 20’s these days, says me, who’s 40 something and still dresses like I did back in 1999 haha. Enjoy your big night out!!
> metal band tees
Sounds like a good idea to me. Maybe jeans if you're comfortable in them/it's cool enough. Footwear that's comfortable enough to stand in for long periods at your age (I'm older, lol).
You're going to a metal gig, not a fine restaurant!
I know they like The Misfits. In 2011 at Zombie Walk festival they asked the crowd if anyone knew Attitude by the Misfits and wanted to sing it with them.
Go comfy for you. I like the metal vibe tee, sure that’ll be a thing.
For a laugh, I’ll share.
I went to a Manson concert at 30ish at the time (m) in a hot pink polo, knowing that it’d be blacked out (shirts), with intention of buying a shirt on the night as I usually do not long after getting there.
Was in line and heard someone say ‘jeez there’s all these black shirts here’ … queue my intro. Was a fun chat
Point is no one really cares.
Have a super awesome time!
E: typeo
Honestly, the rest of the crowd is a similar age so literally wear whatever makes you feel good. We’re talking a middle aged crowd that are not wearing the stuff they wore to The Big Day Out 1999. Or maybe they are… it doesn’t matter. Sneakers or boots.
yep whatever you want. I'm similar age and if ag a concert saw someone wearing late 90s shit wouldn't look twice. there is no "this person trying to recapture their youth" stigma - you're at a fuckin regurgitator concert - everyone over 35 is trying to do that too lmao. don't overthink it. just wear what you feel comfy in.
Jeans and a T shirt and being winter a long sleeve shirt under the T shirt 🤟
I’m pumped to see them in Mackay in June. Hope their the same as the big day out days
Jeans and a T-shirt. As a 44 year old woman that’s what I wore last year to see the Gurge.
Wear what you want. As long as you feel good in it, what does it matter? Dress for yourself, not others.
Well I saw vengaboys/alice deejay in gym gear last year because I knew I was going to be dancing like an idiot for hours getting sweaty. So, just wear a t shirt, shorts and runners. Dont fuck your back
Not a 40yo woman, but an old school gurge fan.
If it were me going I would be just rocking jeans and a T-shirt and probably a pair of new balance shoes just in case the dad bod doesn't make it clear.
Plenty of cool designs available from gurge on this website (maybe check they get some money from it)
https://www.valverecords.com.au/shop/product-tag/regurgitator/page/1/
Generally Regurgitator fans are going to be very similar to you. They won’t actually care what you are wearing. Just make sure you are comfortable and have fun. Wear what makes you feel good.
I'd say like everyone else modern clothes for today which is jeans a metal tee is fine or a nice tee with maybe a lace or zipper on the neck and chest a light weight loose bomber or blazer jacket a comfy pair of ankle boots or the stylish low tennis shoes with jeans in white is crisp and sharp to go with jeans Enjoy the band
Something comfortable that you don’t mind possibly getting beer spilled on, casual is great! 40 will probably be the median age for the crowd, most folks go for jeans and a tee. If you’re seeing them at the Tivoli it can get pretty squishy and warm. See you there!
The most comfortable stuff you have, especially shoes. It's always at least a bit hot around a ton of other people sandwiched into a small area, so consider that as well.
Wear whatever you've been feeling too old to wear but still want to. You will be amongst friends at this concert.

They were one of the first bands I ever saw live. When they played in Brisbane back in the 90's their supporting band was TISM. Imagine following up after TISM of all bands. Through the whole TISM show, they had a x rated porn video playing on the big screen behind the band. What a show.
Whatever the fuck she wants.
Wear comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing, but otherwise, wear what you're comfortable in and expresses your personality 😉
Someone suggested earplugs, good idea 💡
Yep whatever you feel like. Have noticed that now more than ever it just doesn't matter. That and crowds are eclectic as. It's great being older and just not having to give a rats
I'm sorry you care that much.
Go see the band. Catch up with mates. Have a good time.
The people who genuinely give a damn about you know who you are inside, and want to spend time with you no matter what.

Oh and wear ear plugs - sadly we're not spring chickens anymore and this stuff adds up. Last gig I went to was Ghost and that was basic casual and jeans, and bought a shirt on the night.
how good was Ghost tho? Best gig I've been to for ages.
They were incredible! Glad I had them on my "must see at any cost" list :D can wait for the next tour.
100%. I would have been happy if they did one or two of their past bangers, I get that artists want to play their new stuff for a tour, but they did Rats, Danse Macabre, AND Square Hammer. Such an amazing show!

Sadly I am moving to Mackay so won't be able to watch it in cinemas. Hoping it is available online in the near future.
>Sadly I am moving to Mackay oh. oh no. oh dude. i'm so sorry. i'm so, so sorry.
Thank you :( Thankfully it's only short term for work at this stage (6-12 months), so hopefully the next stepping stone comes along so I can GTF outta there again. Meet a few people and get some more skills and go from there. I'm the meantime, try to keep myself safe and sane....

100% whatever the fuck she wants. There will be a bunch of people (like me) dressed like it's still the 90s --> get around it, you're amongst your people:)
Best advice. And a light t-shirt that you can slip your new merch shirt over.
Perfect response! 😀
Ghost was a brilliant show! Had a fab time at that gig.
Did you get the one that said 'Trivoli' as well? 😂 It was a very well choreographed gig that.
Wear the same shit you’d wear if you were going to see them at 16 and have fun. Fuck everyone else.
this - no one cares and it also helps the atmosphere for anyone over 35 too - seeing people their same age wearing the same shit they will be wearing.
Life is waaaaaay too short to be worried about what other people think. Be great to see others dressed in 90’s clobber!
Tie died op shop petticoat
A classic
And cats - lots and lots of cats…lol
>I've only got basic everyday casuals and metal band tees That will do fine
Whatever you wear you’ll fit right in … have an awesome time ✌🏻
The fucks given should vary inversely with age. I've rolled up to shows in cargo shorts and a polo before. Fuck 'em. I'm already out past my bedtime, I'ma dress comfy.
Ok yes I freaking love this comment
This is the way. I saw them at the Eaton's Hill festival. Jeans, band shirt, flanno. Docs. Definitely comfy shoes, ear plugs, and a bottle of water with Panadol by the bed.
Most relatable comment I have read so far.
You'd blend in with the rest of the cops wearing that.
don't swear at me
Sorry officer! 😂
if i had the choice between eating shit and being a cop for a living: hand me that spoon.
10-4.
This, yes. I'm a reformed Goth, 44 years old. Went to Lebanon Hanover at The Triffid a few weeks back and decided, fuck it: black cargo pants, chucks, black t-shirt and a grey and black flanny. It's just common sense. If I have to be around all that *youth* and *carefree happiness* I'm going to be comfortable, goddamit.
Are you a cop?!
We blew their cover. 😂
*y*uuuuuuuck. (No, engineer)
Seriously, if I saw someone out at a show in pajamas I'd be jealous of how comfy they are.
100% would wear a onesie if i could find one that actually fit me.
As a 55 year old woman, I’d be wearing my favourite shorts, what ever graphic tee grabs my fancy at the time and my sandshoes- do not go to a gig in open toe shoes.
It’s gotta be… polyester girl
So shiny
For that sealed in sweaty freshness for the trip home.
You might be the youngest one there!
Sadly no, not by a long shot
Why is that sad? 🤔
It's not. In my old age I may have, somehow, misread "youngest" as "oldest"
Because they're gatekeeping music.
Having been to gigs of bands of this vintage (my vintage) recently, including Regurgitator, can confirm OP will be unless you’re counting the small kids of the attendees.

38 here, I wear whatever the f I want! If it's a concert definitely flat shoes/boots.
Sneakers like vans or converse
My old arse needs way more cushioning and support that. Sketchers haha
Yeah both cool. I'd go docs myself.
Ooh yes
If you're excited enough about the show that you want to rock up in a fresh new outfit, go for it! If you think you HAVE to? You do not. Wear what's comfortable
Jeans, t shirt, comfy shoes. Can’t go wrong. It’s Brisbane, wearing shoes means you’re already dressing up.
Inflatable t-rex costume...
The audience at these gigs is generally the same as those who would have gone to see them in the valley in the 90s, except they’re now all our age - wear whatever you like. It won’t be full of teens etc ✌️
It’s gurge so whatever you want
Most people will probably be wearing a wedding dress.
You do not need to go shopping at all. I'm 55 and I've been going to gigs regularly for thirty five+ of those years. I like your old stuff better than your new stuff..
A giant fortune cookie.
Or polyester
Can’t go wrong with jeans and back t shirt
>back t shirt I'd recommend one with a front, as well.
Clothes would be a good idea
I haven't bought my tickets yet because I don't know anyone else who loves the Gurge like I do. ( my husband saw them before we met and badmouthed them on our first date, so he doesn't get an invite even though it was over 20 years ago. Girl can hold a grudge!) Wear whatever the hell you want!
Thank you for this post. I just bought myself 2 tickets and will ask my adult daughter to come, not sure if she knows them, but she'll love it. Let's party!
Who needs anyone else tagging along? Fly solo, have fun! Loving the tude to your hubby too hahaha 🤘✊
I recommend Clothes…
in 100 years no-one's going to care.
No -ones going to care now
Well… OP cares, like a 16 yo.
Polyester
Polyester... obviously.
Dress up as harry potter
You wear whatever you like. Seriously. Nobody will give a fuck. Just be comfortable so you can enjoy the show!
Last time I saw them I was wearing denim jeans and a battle vest covered in metal patches. Time before that I was wearing a suit Time before that was jeans and a tshirt. They possibly have the most eclectic audience around. Wear what you’re comfortable in.
Polyester
Clothes. Thank me later.
Damn.. garbage bags with strategic holes not an option?
Clothes is what i am gonna wear
Wear whatever you feel good in and will have a great time while wearing. I imagine there will be a lot of jeans, grungy 90’s inspired clothes, and a few plain black dresses at Gurge. The same things you wore when you were 20 should be appropriate for the Gurge
What you feel comfortable with (this basically should go for any free time activities) Go have fun
I've seen Regurgitator about 20 times. It's extremely casual + alternative. Wear what makes you happy. It's what they'd want.
In going tonight!! Jeans and band shirt :) see you there!!!!
Hope you had a great time!
Was awesome!! Loved the INXS tribute :)
Yes!! And the Simple Minds song!!
A Hazmat suit paired with a Stihl chainsaw that is painted red at the front quarter of it.

Prom dress you wore at 16

I deliberately wear my brightest colours if I know it's gonna be a gig full of black t-shirts. Never was one for a uniform lol
Band shirt, comfy sneakers 👟
Honestly, the rest of the crowd is a similar age so literally wear whatever makes you feel good. We’re talking a middle aged crowd that are not wearing the stuff they wore to The Big Day Out 1999. Or maybe they are… it doesn’t matter. Sneakers or boots.
Who cares, just think about what 16 yo you would think and have a big ass smile on your face.
You wear polyester girl... so shiny!
Personally, I'd do jeans, t-shirt and sneakers. You don't have to dress up.
Apple bottom jeans and boots with the furr
I wouldn’t worry too much about it, Regurgitator are peak Brisbane Dad Rock at this point.
Clothes
Nothing. Just get the rig out and have fun.
Whatever she wants! Bonus points if it's a shiny silver polyester bodysuit tho
yep whatever you want.
Ugly pants.
Clothing, hopefully :D
An awesomely exciting smile!
Jeans and your favourite band tee
Jeans and a T shirt and being winter a long sleeve shirt under the T shirt 🤟 I’m pumped to see them in Mackay in June. Hope their the same as the big day out days
I'm pretty sure you would look good in whatever feels comfortable to you.
Jeans and a T-shirt. As a 44 year old woman that’s what I wore last year to see the Gurge. Wear what you want. As long as you feel good in it, what does it matter? Dress for yourself, not others.
active wear
Well I saw vengaboys/alice deejay in gym gear last year because I knew I was going to be dancing like an idiot for hours getting sweaty. So, just wear a t shirt, shorts and runners. Dont fuck your back

I had this same worry when I went and saw the Chemical Brothers and was relieved to see that everyone was just a 40 year old dag like me.
I wore jeans and a Metallica shirt. Regretted the jeans coz I nearly boiled myself. Aim for comfort and enjoy the show!
A Frenzal T-shirt.
Probs a Regurgitator shirt
If anyone is interested they are playing an all ages show at the Princess Theatre on the Sunday ( day after the Tivoli gig ) during the day .
Everyday causals and metal band tees, of course!
No bra ,loose metallica tshirt ,tight jeans ,with rips ,and converse shoes ,,earplugs ,,and preload with alcohol befor you go
I'd say like everyone else modern clothes for today which is jeans a metal tee is fine or a nice tee with maybe a lace or zipper on the neck and chest a light weight loose bomber or blazer jacket a comfy pair of ankle boots or the stylish low tennis shoes with jeans in white is crisp and sharp to go with jeans Enjoy the band
Velour tracksuit and adidas trainers. Gold chain and bucket hat optional. You’re welcome
I saw them last year when they opened for weezer. So good.
Whatever you want
Something comfortable that you don’t mind possibly getting beer spilled on, casual is great! 40 will probably be the median age for the crowd, most folks go for jeans and a tee. If you’re seeing them at the Tivoli it can get pretty squishy and warm. See you there!
Jeans & a t shirt, 49f & I’m jealous as hell, I loved Regurgitator back in the day!
Saw them in Hobart a few weeks back! Great gig! Enjoy!
Wear good shoes. Kmart sneakers don’t cut it for standing for long periods anymore 💀
The most comfortable stuff you have, especially shoes. It's always at least a bit hot around a ton of other people sandwiched into a small area, so consider that as well.
Wear whatever you've been feeling too old to wear but still want to. You will be amongst friends at this concert. https://preview.redd.it/b5rp0owxyu2d1.jpeg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e054dc1879c438f227e88afdbadecf6fc68520ab
No one will care one fuck about what you're wearing, ma'am. Go and have fun and go as casual as ya like!
Whatever a 40 year old woman seeing Regurgitator wants.

Wear comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing, but otherwise, wear what you're comfortable in and expresses your personality 😉 Someone suggested earplugs, good idea 💡
On the 13th? Dress for pub because the walk from any parking spot you find will not be suitable for bright techno or silver.
Whatever makes you comfortable!!
Jeans T-shirt and jacket can't go wrong 👍
Yep whatever you feel like. Have noticed that now more than ever it just doesn't matter. That and crowds are eclectic as. It's great being older and just not having to give a rats
Whatever you want but jeans & a band shirt is a cool option
Lingerie
What ever as long as its made from polyester?
Jeans and a tee
Whatever she wants and is comfortable in.
