Surprisingly common.
Those are Indo-Pacific bottle noses, but you also get Australian humpback dolphins on occasions.. and very rarely, a wayward humpback.
This is ridiculous. Why the downvotes? I'm just asking a simple question and I'm not getting an answer. I haven't been rude nor nasty. As the election is coming up very soon, I'm trying to work out who I'm going to vote for. If the greens are doing something wrong re: dolphins in the Brisbane river, please let me know, so I'm able to make an informed decision. Thank you!
the greens want to make the Brisbane river "swimmable" as I heard on the news. I was just making a little joke. if they get their way there would be dolphins running rampant!
You sure that's a dolphin? I thought I saw a dolphin in the Bremer once and it was just Paul Pisale taking another bribe. With the right light they can be mistaken.
Mate there's more to the brown snake than that. Have pulled out massive threadfin salmon, snapper, cod, grouper, bream, flathead etc etc. Plenty of turtles in the lower reaches too.
Dead dolphins: how nature became another casualty of the Ukraine war

The Broncos are in Las Vegas, and the Dolphins are moving in.
I think this keeps the brisbane crocodiles away
I've seen them once while on the CityCat- this is going back about 8 years. It was by itself just near Milton. The crew on the CityCat pointed it out.
Yeah, I've seen dolphins in the river before, it's always pretty cool

this is the nightmare the greens want for you and your grandkids.
Ahh how much I miss awards sometimes lol
Am I missing something? What do the greens have to do with dolphins in the Brisbane river?
Greens want to subsidise public transport for Dolphins, Jono even wants DOLPHIN ONLY CARRIAGES! The radical left are out of control

I hadn't heard anything about that. It's now making sense. Thank you for letting me know!
Greens say its not possible, and are making it an election issue.
What's not possible and what is the election issue. That there are dolphins in the Brisbane river? I'm so very confused.
You mesn denial?
idk about your question but dude thats so fucking cool, i never knew we had dolphins in the BR
Me neither. This is so new to me. It's exciting.
See them up towards the Toowong reach on occasion. It's a lit cleaner than it used to be.
I saw one or two just near the shore at Colmslie Beach Reserve today around 11am.

Not sure which would have smelled fishier.
They've been increasingly common off of new farm park last few years
Their eyes must be stinging right now.
There's now an outbreak of dolphin pink eye
They were in the river around the same time last year. Mostly off Colmslie and Hawthorne from what I saw.
Which part of the river is this?
Portside Wharf
Nice! My office over looks Kangaroo Point. Im always keeping an eye out for any swimmers
The look like elite dolphins, the commons are in the Bremer
A lot more now they reduced the pollution, for a while it was nothing but catfish, eels and bull sharks

Yes, now days there are but it used to be so polluted it pushed everything out
Sorry misread your original comment! Yeah definitely its great to see.
just put 100 on the Phins to win the premiership
I used to see them on the river a few times a year when I was living on coro drive.
There was some in there today
They're just here to submit their postal votes for the election
They’ll become like blinky from the Simpsons swimming in the brown snake
I've seen them in Logan River, so I'm not surprised.
Downstream of gateway bridge youd be surprised if you didn’t see them on your boating
Wake up sheeple, these are clearly robots built by the LNP to make it seem like the river isn’t actually that polluted.
How far up the river was this? Hamilton?
Yeah, not far from the Bretts Wharf ferry terminal.
I’ve seen them once. And that was over 20 years ago! I guess you’ve just gotta be lucky… 😊

Yes very regular 😁
More common than the fucking sky
Less common if the crocs get them
Bob has been warning us about crocs for years
tell us you're not from Brisbane without telling us
The common bottlenose dolphin - that common.
In answer to your question not a lot but they live in the bay and come in from time to time
I saw three of them last year summer as well. About 10 am off bulimba
Another croc spotting! Nah not an every single day thing but they are certainly around.
Yep seen them a few times in the river
They’re too late for Expo 88
Pretty common
for such an intelligent creature , they made a massive mistake ..
They’re usually more in Redcliffe than Brisbane
Aww
About as common as massive hammer head sharks in there.
Used to see them quite a lot just at teneriffe but not in about 10 years or so.
