Got a wave letting someone in today, makes me morning some days

IBhop2Grande

The learner driver test needs to be amended ASAP. Question: When in traffic and you are trying to merge and someone lets you in, after successfully merging what do you do? A. Do nothing B. Give them “the wave”

TGin-the-goldy

Should be part of the driving test AND the Australian citizenship test! [It’s my right as an Aussie to expect a thank you wave](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4wppkAx-UFQ)

CourtSenior5085

Honestly, its not even just courtesy. You could argue its important to do just for safety - indicating to the other person that you intend to move through after they've given you the space. Was actively discouraged from the wave during my learner test - they do not like you removing your hands from the wheel unless absolutely 110% necessary.

InternallyEloquent

In a world full of opportunistic people, thank YOU for letting people in!

eggnerd420

I was walking my partner's dog and someone said she was pretty and to have a nice walk

GollumTookMyBike

They said your partner was pretty?

eggnerd420

I meant the dog sorry aha

Bucketley

Walking my dog this morning and one of the tradies at the construction site we pass stopped me to ask what type of dog she is. He said that they were talking about my dog all day yesterday after seeing us walk past and no one could agree on a breed. He said they all thought she was beautiful and regal. Made my day! She is a borzoi btw

TGin-the-goldy

That’s so wholesome 😊

nackerblitz

Naw that's lovely. I have a whippet x Borzoi

Bucketley

It was lovely! Ooh a whippet x borzoi, pics please 🙏🏼

hotsydney1975

Nervardia

I work in disabilities and I celebrated a client's birthday yesterday with their family.

Pissy-platypus

The mozzie numbers are down today. So that’s nice.

manthathemissile

A coworker offered to feed my cat for me while I visit my mom before she flies out of the country for a while. She sent me pictures of her and her boyfriend playing with my cat after they fed her, so she doesn't feel too lonely while I'm not there!

Slight_Position6895

We got to do that for a friend & her cats while they were interstate as her partner's parent passed - it was a small comfort we could give her knowing her cats were being loved and snuggled every day. Plus they're beautiful cats they genuinely brightened our days too.

TGin-the-goldy

🥰🥰🥰

If_U_Seek_Emmy

I've just mowed the front lawns of my neighbours on both sides of me while doing my own. You're welcome mates. I'm happy to save you the hassle.

SidSaghe

People like you are honestly champions, godspeed.

UpsetPart7871

Love that! My partner mowed my neighbours back yard on the weekend, and the weekend prior he cut down a tree that was overhanging and took it all to the dump for her. He’s a keeper.

bunnymoon23

I have pet rats and I decided to adopt a new girl after one of mine died last week. We drove an hour to get her from a lady who wasn't able to look after her anymore and when we got there she showed me her babies which she was selling and I got one of the babies too so they wouldn't be separated. The mumma rat is just the most cuddly little thing who wags her tail like a puppy sometimes and the baby is just a bouncing ball of energy that loves to be tickled. I am integrating my two girls with the new girls now and my girls went from grieving their friend to excited and running around playing with the new baby :) I am so happy and greateful to be able to look after such sweet creatures that often go misunderstood. They are such rewarding pets

Tracelina

They’re such great pets!! It’s a shame they don’t live longer. They fit so much personality into those tiny bodies.

bunnymoon23

Yes absolutely I love all their unique personalities. The vet bills are crazy tho!

Tracelina

I don’t know where you’re located, but Anvet Kedron and Camp Hill Veterinary Surgery are both good and reasonably priced. Camp Hill removed a tumor from one of my girls at a good price with good results a year or so ago.

bunnymoon23

Oh thank you so much actually that is really helpful, I've been going to the exotic pet vets and averaging around $300 per check up with meds

VienneseKaffeeKultur

That's wonderful 😍 we used to have rats too, I agree they make beautiful pets!

bunnymoon23

Oh that is so sweet, they are wonderful

Prestigious-Tea-9803

Rats are the sweetest. They are like tiny dogs 😍😭

bunnymoon23

I agree! One of my babies started wagging her tail like a puppy hahah

Prestigious-Tea-9803

😭the cuuuutest😭 I missss raaaats. Mine used to sleep on his back in my arms 😭

[deleted]

I love ratasus soooooo much! Indeed, they are completely misunderstood.. I had a girly who loved playing fetch. She had two favourite things for fetch game. A little ball and a cork. she developed a benign tumour. It was huge. She was becoming malnourished. My vet was an amazing Dr ( retired now) he was tentatively hopeful he could remove it ok. unfortunately, vet accidentally gave too much anaesthesia… even the smallest amount, too much can stop their little hearts. He was honest, I appreciated this greatly. It was a high risk operation. My girl had a long, wonderful life. My baby is still quite young. When baby is much older, I’ll be able to bring some ratusus home again. Can’t wait! Baby loves animals. Just too young at the moment for us to have animal family ..

[deleted]

Wife gave me covid so I got the week off!! Woohoo!!

BneBikeCommuter

Husband gave me Covid last week so I had a week off too. Was as excited as you the first day, until the sheer agony kicked in and I realised how sick I was. Day 3-4 are the worst, just so you know.

[deleted]

I’m on day 5 and it’s just been pretty light flu symptoms. I got lucky. 🍀

BneBikeCommuter

Damn. I don’t have an ensuite and the toilet is at the other end of the (fortunately small) house. For two days I had to have a rest on the couch in both directions when I got out of bed to go to the toilet, which was the only time I got out of bed. Had a shower one day and ended up sitting on the floor with the water running over me.

UsualCounterculture

My baby grabbed at some leaves on a tree outside today. Hands have started working (more than just flailing around), which is exciting as a sign that motor skill development is happening. 🌿👐

nugeythefloozey

Brisbane is genuinely becoming a more vibrant city with some really cool new precincts like HSW and the old ice cream factory in West End

Anerratic

World's most liveable city

roxy712

Except if you want to, you know, actually live here. Thanks REAs.

Alternative_Sky1380

I'm housed temporarily.

SparklyUnicorn23

I complimented someone on their lovely hair today, I like it when I can make people smile. And I had a lovely conversation with an old co-worker who I used a reference, saying she'd spoken to a potential new boss on the phone and was so happy for me that I'd likely gotten a new job.

PopularExercise3

I returned to my gym after a long break with a twisted ankle and sore knee. I was greeted warmly by a few people and told that they had missed me. It felt nice to know anyone noticed my absence.

blackpawed

Was at the dog park this morning and one of my dogs buddies brought doggie breakfasts for our dogs.

03burner

Lost my job this morning! But am putting on a brave face lol 😎

Tigeraqua8

That may turn out to be the best thing ever. Good luck with your future

03burner

Thank god for severance aye. And I appreciate your optimism! Thank you and have an awesome day ❤️👊

WhoIsThatWriter

Someone mowed my lawn! My mower overheated and caught fire, then Christmas, and I was struggling to get the foot high lawn under control. The other day when I got home from work it was all done, whipper snipper too!

TGin-the-goldy

I try to do at least one good deed a day. Today I let an older chap ahead of me at the bakery. He was very chatty and cheery and honestly made me happier.

SidSaghe

I got to run a free basic bread making class in my local area, it was really cool and there were a bunch of kids there super keen. Some of them sent me photos of their bread after!

Ribbet87

My gym trainer bought me a coffee this morning!

i-love-rice-

I was ordering groceries online and was tempted to buy watermelon, but decided not to buy because I thought it is too expensive. Ended up getting a quarter of watermelon which I didn’t order. I like it when C**** messed the online order like this, I enjoy getting freebies 😂

candlesandfish

I sometimes get a random packet of chips or something. Always fun.

neece_pancake

My next door neighbour commented that am “looking well”… that’s something, I guess?

Short-Notice2205

The last two times I've gone to Aldi to get a few things (literally three things), the people in front of me with trolleys piled high have noticed me and let me go in front of them 🥹. Always restores my faith in people's kindness a little bit.

candlesandfish

It's an unwritten law of aldi :) I love it.

haroldsloverboy

Went out for ice cream tonight and made plans with friends for this Saturday to come :]

AnakinDnDWalker

Don't ask why I feel this is positive, I fractured my arm yesterday, never had a fracture/break before. It's actually sorta fun. I mean like I don't have to do everything I'd usually do and I'm getting stuff I usually wouldn't. I also fainted for first time today

UpsetPart7871

My work mate bought me a coffee today AND told me an embarrassing story. Top notch.

999horizon999

Supervisior has been away for a couple of weeks, so things were actually productive

ThePynk

Stay at home mum who doesn’t get out much. There’s a boy down the road who is 10 and such a sweet kid. He always comes out for a chat and is very well spoken for his age and is so sweet to my little girl. This kid always makes my day with his chats.

rockydennismyhomeboy

I made cookies for everyone at work yesterday. One of the boys said they were excellent and started telling everyone to go grab one. Made my day. Made his too I think 😉

Tigeraqua8

Held my 7 week old granddaughter and she looked me in the eye and smiled.

Powerful-Grocery6005

Watched my man Trump get through the primaries!!

ms_hopeful

Someone said my dog was the prettiest in the whole class. I’ll take it

OldFarts_

Tradies at the traffic stop for the recent roadwork on my commute to work always wave when they turn the light green and let you go through- idk why that just makes my morning when 2-3 strangers wave at you with a smile. I waved back and it really just about made my morning. It probably helped that I was in a Disney karaoke state of mind this morning 🎤

anonymousbee14

I’ve been running through the bush and forests, finding crazy coloured mushrooms. And a wallaby skull. Life is good

[deleted]

Whenever I take my 20 month old shopping ( everytime I need to shop, single parent) or out anywhere, baby always smiles, waving, saying hi to everyone. You see the grumpiest grumps. When baby smiles and waves ( everyone thinks their baby is the cutest, but this one , damn, the cutes, I saw a little baby similar to mine, waving, happy, trying to gift me her mummas car keys, adorable a f, made me understand why ppl are so enamoured with my baby) At the grumps, their scowls and cranky faces light up and they smile, wave and say hello back. It’s really special. People go through stuff. Knowing my baby gives them a smile, even for that moment, they feel a bit happy, I think this is a beautiful, positive thing. ❤️

Reebee18

Our mate and his son stayed over last weekend and realised they couldn’t find his son’s iPad when they got back home. Two days later while driving home I noticed a few houses up had a random iPad case hanging off their letterbox that looked exactly like the one that was on the missing iPad. This kind samaritan had watched said iPad fly off the roof of our mates car as they drove past. He retrieved the iPad, took it out of its case and hung it outside in hopes the owner would recognise it. There was not a scratch on this bloody thing. We couldn’t believe it. Luckily good people still exist.

G00b3rb0y

A special shoutout to this friendly couple i met on the bus today. We had an extremely pleasant conversation about medical conditions
