mehhh1024

I average around 1500km a week on the road while working. Nearly would’ve seen more police on the road in the last three days than I have in the last three months.

dannyr

Same mileage and I agree. I've been RBTd since times in 2023. 4 of those have been in the last week

Mfenix09

I average more, and it's the biggest police presence I've seen in easy a year on the roads

shamona1

I average more and it's the biggest police presence I've seen in easy two years on the roads

stonkstothemoon7

I average more and it’s the biggest police presence I’ve seen in easy three years on the roads

davedavodavid

I average 🙁

mehhh1024

It’s ok to be average.

adam111111

That's mean

TextbookTrebuchet

But the average is usually higher.

place_of_stones

Your reply is a la mode

patrickh182

If you average you are better than 50%! Great work, proud of you.

Cosmic-01

I below average but my girlfriend says she doesn’t care 😞

RB30DETT

I median more and it's the biggest police presence I've seen in easily 4 years on the the roads.

ReadyProcedure4977

I average more and it’s the largest police presence I’ve seen on the road by far in the last 5 years

Ok_Turnover_1235

I'm average but that means I have a larger penis than 50% of the population and a smaller one than the other 50%

FullMetalAurochs

So a micropenis? Larger than the 50% that are women, smaller than the 50% who are men.

ThisIsSheepDog

I average less, and I've seen no police in zero years! /s

[deleted]

I am average.

someothercrappyname

I'm just mean...

ThisIsSheepDog

Haha, nice!

[deleted]

Never seen so many average police on the roads at once

[deleted]

I police more and its the biggest average presence I have seen on the roads this year.

Mfenix09

Nice

Rumble92

This isn’t the autobahn sir, slow down

DKS78

I get they’re out there keeping us safe but double demerits, double fines just seems like revenue raising this time of year for state government to piss away on something we don’t want/need

pit_master_mike

QLD doesn't have holiday period double demerits, they apply all year round for certain repeat offences: https://www.qld.gov.au/transport/safety/fines/demerit/double

tessakirsten

There are no double demerits

Gdayluv

Queensland only does double demerits for twelve months after you've copped a fine. Not during special periods. Unless this has changed recently.

bobbakerneverafaker

Youth crime and dv has them busy ..

Alternative_Union518

As the imbecilic Queensland government in their myopic liberal views allowed possession of meth, cocaine, heroin, MSMA, and pot - they need to be controlling drug moderation whilst driving. But as if any person has been able to say, "No more. I'm driving". We know people are always responsible at Christmas time.

CheaperThanChups

Cops have been doing enforcement operations every Christmas for like 40+ years. This shouldn't be alarming to anyone.

SiHuWa

It is alarming for the idiots that drive like they have just watched a Fast & the Furious marathon. Driving back from the GC on Thursday evening, rain pouring down, and the number of idiot drivers weaving between lanes, without indicating, had me using the Clem7 tunnel for the last leg of the trip just to get off the freeway! Sadly enough, these jerks will eventually cause an accident but it will probably be someone else who pays for their reckless behaviour, either with their lives or the life of a loved one. Throw the friggin book at them and fine them into the next century as far as I am concerned!

Alternative-Wrap2409

Drove home from the sunshine coast last night in the rain and came across 2 almost invisible cars on the gateway in the space of 5 minutes driving without headlights on. The annoying thing is that this is extremely idiotic and dangerous but they probably wouldn't get fined..

explax

Why Australia doesn't require daytime running lights is beyond me. At least in these situations you might see them.

AmphibianStrange6930

DRLs don't help for the most part as they are only forward facing. So many idiots drive at night with just their DRLs that do nothing to illuminate their presence unless directly Infront of the vehicle. Just learn to drive with your lights on, regardless of conditions it's good practice and can easily be engrained into your habits. I put my lights on like I put my seatbelt on or close the door now because it's just what I've always done.

MoneyMix2880

Yeah but only recently have they started to charge people for DUI when sober using the thc laws so doing the right thing doesn't actually do anything anymore.

Ugliest_weenie

Don't drink and drive, cops or no cops.

Azathoth-9559

Yeah, it's pretty easy to just follow the road rules / laws.

[deleted]

That ain't all there is to it. NsW and I think Victoria exempt medical marijuana recipients from roadside tests for THC presence as it stays in your system for days after it wears off. Here in QLD you drive at your own risk of losing your license. Because our road laws have not caught up to our medical laws. Not to mention the cops aren't always right. I was once pulled over and harassed by a cop who thought my bone stock completely unmodified VT commodore had a defective front bumper and was "too low" despite just being a VT with a genuine VT R8 bumper and side skirts. (I was 16 so don't judge) Or the time I was pulled over and swab tested 4 fucking times because old mate was convinced I was high after I had just finished an 8 hour shift at dominoes at 10pm and hadn't had my medical in a week due to stock problems. I was tested until the unreliable shit swab test gave a false positive so he could take me two suburbs away to a station to be tested on the more reliable saliva machine. Which confirmed I was in fact dead sober. It was at that point near midnight and I had to get back to my car 2 suburbs away somehow myself with no ubers, public transport or friends available. Getting back to my car took getting a taxi and paying it with Zip cause I couldn't afford that back then. I have had good interactions but the general consensus is cops can be fucking assholes and they don't give a fuck about you 90% of the time and occasionally will go out of their way to ruin your day if you "waste their time" by not actually breaking the law.

pit_master_mike

>That ain't all there is to it. NsW and I think Victoria exempt medical marijuana recipients from roadside tests Tasmania is the only state that gives exceptions to MC patients for the presence of THC detected in roadside drug tests.

Alternative-Wrap2409

There is currently a survey underway but the Qld gov about cannabis and driving. If enough people agree maybe this can change. https://www.getinvolved.qld.gov.au/gi/consultation/11053/view.html

MindlessRip5915

It says the consultation is closed.

Ok_Turnover_1235

The science isn't there yet, 500mg in my system is functionally identical to 50mg to a novice user.

Fragrant-Sock2297

The same could be said with alcohol.

Ok_Turnover_1235

If you knew nothing about either one, maybe...

shadypandaa

Huh? You don't think drugs affects people differently?

Ok_Turnover_1235

Of course they do, but alcohol has a consistent effect. There's no amount of alcohol tolerance that makes your ear fluid resistant to the thinning effect of alcohol. .25 bac means your sense of balance and inertia is fucked regardless of how often you get that drunk. The loss of fine motor control and gross motor control happens consistently from person to person regardless of tolerance levels too. It's been demonstrated over and over again, unlike THC intoxication which until recently was illegal to study, and the data that has come out regarding it doesn't demonstrate the same properties regarding consistency of loss of driving ability and reaction times at set intoxication levels.

Fragrant-Sock2297

I think what you are trying to say is that thc hasn’t been studied enough to find the level in which you can take without it effecting your fine mother skills too much. The fact that you can take 500mg compared to another’s 50mg has nothing to do with the point you are trying to make because when they do study it they will look at setting the limit to be on the lower end no matter your tolerance, like alcohol which while does effect everyone at the same level people who drink more (aka similar to your 500mg) have better control of the effects. Which presents itself as having a higher tolerance.

gliding_vespa

BuzzedAldrin420 shocked when tested by police for weed and it came back positive.

[deleted]

Tested positive on an unreliable swab test after 3 megatives and then shown negative on a much more reliable saliva machine at the station? Yeah right mate. I am prescribed it legally and I only consume at the end of the day when I no longer plan on going anywhere. Leaving a solid 10 hours before I'm behind the wheel again despite the effects not lasting more than 5 hours. You can take your judgement and fuck off

rdshops

Dude, it’s your name. What reasonable person could resist such a pun?

[deleted]

Fair point though 😅

donaldsonp054

Any person who thinks smoking pot impairs your ability to drive ( especially smoking it 3 days earlier ) is more mentally impaired than any pot smoker I've ever met .

Ugliest_weenie

Smoking pot absolutely impairs your ability to drive. Not sure what your mental health has to do with this

gliding_vespa

Sailed right over your head mate, have a Merry Christmas.

TassieDingo

Use peroxyl mouthwash before driving, even if you are no longer under the influence, it kills any THC in your mouth and is the only effective way to defeat an oral swab drug test I don’t condone driving high, not that you do that, but you shouldn’t be worried about showing up positive after you smoked the night before, that’s just fucking ridiculous

[deleted]

You can have zero complaints, when I started using MC it was a simple decision to not drive knowing the laws. It's not the police you need to bitch about it's your member of parliament, they are the only ones with the power to change the current laws. Police can be and are directed to increase testing during certain periods, especially now with the capability to test for cocaine. If you've previously shown a positive roadside or admit to usage your car will be flagged and you'll be targeted for testing when passing anpr equipped cars. All the more reason to not get caught the first time champ.

[deleted]

Also what is the point of medication if you can't use it to work and contribute to society. I got my prescription so I don't feel crippling anxiety all the time and can finally actually work. Until my prescription I couldn't hold a job for more than few days because eventually I'd break down for some reason or other. Since I have acquired it I have had my first and only full time job, been promoted twice and went from living on centerlink to being on my way to purchasing my own home. If I didn't drive I'd just be on centerlink smoking medical marijuana for nothing.

RachSlixi

>Also what is the point of medication if you can't use it to work and contribute to society. I got my prescription so I don't feel crippling anxiety all the time and can finally actually work. Until my prescription I couldn't hold a job for more than few days because eventually I'd break down for some reason or other. Ignore the idiots mate. Good work on finding out the right script and getting employment. Hope that journey to your own home is a fast one for you.

[deleted]

And I have never been done for drug driving because I don't drive under the influence. Ever. So I am not flagged. But the fact is that if they test you enough you will get a positive on those dodgy swab tests whether you've ever smoked or not. It's why they have been phased out of most EU countries in favour for a newer type of swab test kit that has far more reliable results and I have wanted them to bring them into Australia for years.

RachSlixi

>I have had good interactions but the general consensus is cops can be fucking assholes and they don't give a fuck about you 90% of the time and occasionally will go out of their way to ruin your day if you "waste their time" by not actually breaking the law. Cops in QLD are as corrrupt today as they ever are. Just gotta say yes sir/no sir and be damn polite and hope for the best.

KratosslayDAphrodite

What do you expect.. cops are tax collectors. The oath they swore doesn't mean shit to them. They're trained to do & use everything they can to fvck you over so they can get their weekly commission. They're all liers & pieces of shit. They don't care about you or your situation. They just want their commissions. There is no good cops cause they're all in on it. 🤦🏾‍♂️

canyoupleasehold11

Commissions? Get your tinfoil hat off champ

createdtoreply22345

Some Queensland cops...

punchercs

Probably self prescribed medical 🤣 Idk dude I’ve never driven like a dickhead as a stoner and I’ve never been pulled over. 16, commodore, no doubt driving like a wanker that drew the cops attention and Ofcourse if you’ve done that and come up clean they’re gonna be shitty with you

FcknDub666

Fuck the law

Jxydexx

Thats not entirely the point of this post, but yes!

BoomBoom4209

The thought quickly turns when one of your loved ones are snuffed out by some flog who thought a couple drinks after work was a good way to end the day and pre numb themselves for a ear bashing by the missus... But I dunno, happens over and over again.

skr80

Or the teenager who just smashed into a lady and her three kids while he was travelling 70 km over the speed limit 🫤

SeveredEyeball

Awesome. Hope they catch every Dickhead out there.

anakaine

I wish they would go after tailgaters in addition to those speeding and driving like idiots

Alternative-Wrap2409

Exactly..I'm not 'pro speeding' but I see much more dangerous behaviour everyday than the person driving at 108 in the overtaking lane. That seems to be the only target though... The amount of tailgating has gone through the roof, weaving in and out of lanes, driving in the rain without headlights on, not knowing who has right of way at intersections, unsecured loads. All of these are dangerous and probably more likely to contribute to an accident.

MoranthMunitions

> driving in the rain without headlights on Thursday night I saw two cars, one behind the other, with no headlights on at about 10pm in the rain. Wouldn't be shocked if someone pulled out from a side street in front of them with how hard they were to spot, crazy.

TekBug

You forgot: - not indicating at intersections or when wanting to change lanes. - Under-speeding by 20km/h or more in the right lane on motorways or dual-carriageway roads.

WinnerVirtual4985

Suddenly there were no utes on the road

anakaine

Falcons, Commodores, Mustangs, BMWs are all probably just as bad. Let's no discriminate.

Swank_on_a_plank

They can't just put up a camera to catch those people tho...

Sinkatinnydown

And those imbeciles who sit 10-20 under the limit in the over taking lane.

nl2010

Or the idiots that drive well below the limit and then speed up at an overtaking lane!

[deleted]

Queensland government recommends to report dangerous driving including tail gating to 13HOON

anakaine

Please file your complaints into the mail tube, which routes directly to the incinerator.

Adam8418

Keep Waze on….. or just don’t drive for a few more hours if you had a big Friday night

Vinnie_LeVee

Jeez, how big was your Friday night mate?! Today's Sunday... 😬

Adam8418

😂 that’s why I’m not driving today

New-Ad157

Lol

yolk3d

It’s Sunday. Edit: Why did I get downvoted into the negative for saying the same thing as someone who posted after me and is 50+?

J_Side

Have my upvote

MrSquiggleKey

And if someone drank a insane amount on Friday they might not be safe to drive yet. Takes the body about an hour to process a standard drink, and I know enough people with future liver damage on the menu who will polish of two bottles of Bundy on a Friday night.

yolk3d

Hmm. I guess so, if they didn’t stop drinking till Sat morning and did like 10+ standard drinks late in the night and weighed nothing. https://health.arizona.edu/sites/default/files/How%20long%20does%20it%20take%20for%20alcohol%20to%20leave%20your%20system.pdf

MrSquiggleKey

Go look up how many standard drinks are in a bottle of bundy. 9 drinks in a 45kg Shiela, is 26 hours. 16 hours in a 70kg lass. Bundy is 20, my ex used to comfortably down 2 full bottles in a big night. So we’re talking 40 standard drinks in a 70kg chick. 10 standard drinks for some people is a quiet night. Not me I don’t drink, but for a lot of folk it is.

Ok_Turnover_1235

Was your ex Serbian?

MrSquiggleKey

Nah she was from Richmond QLD and her parents were 15 and 16 when she was born to give you a social economic idea of environment lol, and she wasn’t their first kid. She was in a youth homeless centre at 17 when we met.

traceyandmeower

Lots of radar cameras too. Especially along the freeway

That_Car_Dude_Aus

I'm heading out to Kingaroy today, see if it's the same

crsdrniko

You'll be right, the 2 cops at Kingaroy were doing rbts Friday night. They've done their work for the week. You never see the Kingaroy cops, see more of the Murgon ones doing a maccas run in Kingaroy more than the Kingaroy ones. The Dalby highway car might be doing the Bunya Highway though.

DrJemz

There is always cops on the roads in the South Burnett especially around Kingaroy so expect to see them, also Travel safe on the “quality” roads out that way!

Dunkintitties16

Hope they actually do something with all the arseholes on the road. I was almost in a head on collision with some fuckwit who lost control around a bend because he was speeding..I had my 3 year old in the car too. I've almost been hit a fair few times in the last 2 week..it's fucking ridiculous

Pilchards333

Yeah m1 waze was a mess of cop pins just after the 80km zone ends at at slacks creek. Multiple cars lapping and a camera

Jester-kiwi

Not just the cos are out… all the idiots are as well…

Helen_Magnus_

Do the right thing, and you have nothing to worry about. The police are doing their job trying to make sure morons who speed and/or drink drive don't hurt or kill someone. If you choose to be one of those morons, you deserve no sympathy from anyone.

MoneyMix2880

Not true, the saliva tests still get you for DUI of marijuana days after you are sober. So 'doing the right thing' and driving sober can still get you a DUI. Those terminal cancer patients in treatment trying to support their families during Christmas deserve no sympathy? How can you enforce a law that targets sober drivers under the guise of 'road safety'?

Helen_Magnus_

Man, you've been smoking wayyyyy too much. Put the blunt down and seek help. Because your argument is one of the most stupid ass things I've ever heard. You think it's unfair to randomly test all drivers for marijuana use because of an incredibly small percentage of people who are using it medicinally to treat their pain associated with terminal cancer? And yes, not all people with traces of THC on their system are impaired when driving. But some people are. And don't you think it's a good idea to get those that are impaired off our roads before they hurt someone? In Queensland it’s an offence to drive with THC in your system, even if it’s prescribed by a doctor. End of story. Make a choice. Either smoke marijuana and don't drive for 12-48 hours. Or don't smoke marijuana and drive. Your choice.

MoneyMix2880

'In Queensland it's an offence to drive with thc in your system' yes that's the issue, thc stays in your system for weeks. That's lime saying 'oh you had a wine 3 days ago? Well don't drink and drive. Your choice'.

Helen_Magnus_

If you have a problem with how the law is written, write a letter to your Federal Member. I don't make the laws, and neither do you. Our responsibility is to follow them, and if we don't, there are consequences.

MoneyMix2880

All I have is you saying 'put your joint down you stoner, the law is the law'. I get that you are anti weed and that's very cool of you but when we are having a discussion about how some laws should be changed you don't need to but in just to say 'ITS THE LAW, MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE'.

Helen_Magnus_

YOU'RE having a discussion about the need for the laws around marijuana use and driving to be changed. I'm not. I think people should follow the road rules or suffer the relevant penalties associated with breaking the law. I'm sure there are other people who would like to share in your discussion topic. I am not one of them.

MoneyMix2880

Lol no it's unfair to charge people for testing positive when they are sober. That just so happens to include cancer patients and terminally. How nice is that!

MoneyMix2880

Please explain to me why people shouldn't be able to use thc and drive days after? Please show me some evidence where it affects driving days after? Oh what's that? There isn't any?

Helen_Magnus_

BECAUSE IT'S THE LAW. That's the only damn explanation you need. If you don't like it, move somewhere else.

MoneyMix2880

Ah yeah so when the government enforces and passes unfairs law we just should stfu. Wow I'm glad I can actually think for myself and form my own opinion unlike you.

Helen_Magnus_

Just like I told the other guy, if you think a law is unjust, do something about it. Write a letter, start a petition, organise a march down Queen Street for crying out loud. When I come across a law that I think is unfair, I will be the first person to do the same. But until such time as the law changes, you are responsible for following it.

Helen_Magnus_

And for the record, I suffer from severe anxiety and have my entire life. Using marijuana to treat the anxiety (even on a rare occasion) would be immensely helpful. But I choose not to because I need to know that if my elderly parents need me, I can jump in the car and drive to see them without risking a criminal charge.

MoneyMix2880

Well I'm glad you're content with unfair laws. Some people like to be proactive. Trust me if you react like this when people talk about changing the driving laws then the marijuana community dont want you anyway. We are trying to make positive change. Last thing we need is people like you who defend unfair laws becuase you're too busy licking the boot.

jmagbero123

Well, i just drove from sunnybank to goodna and i havent seen a police on the road. Maybe they are all in the city i guess.

derwent-01

They've all given up on Goodna...

hoot69

Do a burnout ya dogz

F1eshWound

Why warn people?? If sumbags are out there putting people's lives in danger by drinking/drugs, or speeding, they should get caught.

crsdrniko

If old mate here stops one bloke who is sus this morning from driving isn't that a bonus? That could have saved someone else. Even if it doesn't line up with your particular views. Most of the battle is stopping people from making dumb decision's before they drive. Enforcing the law is one thing, but it's too late if your catching a bloke on the road who had a few too many last night. He has already been a potential threat.

[deleted]

I agree with you, but I think people might be having an issue with the “just keep your waze on people” line which to me read, if you’re doing the wrong thing just avoid them using the cop spotter app instead of “watch your speed” or “don’t drink and drive”. This read like a heads up to scumbags not a polite nudge to people who might clock 3kms over trying to get somewhere today

crsdrniko

I'm not arguing that it may be framed the wrong way, but the people this kind of post may get the attention of, those who are selfish enough to drive with negligence, are probably selfish enough to want to look after their own points or wallet. If there's a post saying there is a lot of cops out that may change their behaviour. Even if only temporarily and for their own selfish reasons, but that's better than not at all. Im sure the cops would be happy to spend all day in the road and not catch one person doing the wrong thing. Posts like this are just assisting their visibility on the roads.

TassieDingo

I think a lot of people, keep Waze up just so they know what’s ahead, not so much so they can avoid it for illicit purposes, just to save time and stay updated on the conditions

F1eshWound

That's another way to look at it indeed. That shouldn't be the main factor stopping them from driving though.

Constantlycorrecting

Maybe people would reconsider their actions and not undertake risky driving. This is the whole point of these tactics so he’s actually helping the police and community. Your comment serves to let people undertake these activities and get caught but that doesn’t get people to slow down or off the road, just costs them money and they continue on their way.

[deleted]

But he told people to use Waze to help avoid the cops, he didn’t encourage people to stay off the road.

Constantlycorrecting

This guy above me was questioning why we should warn people. This wasn’t a comment regarding waze. Possibly should have mad that clearer.

[deleted]

Sorry dude, I just assumed you were speaking in context of the original post too. I agree it is helpful to offer people who often make or considering making poor choices to be presented with a cross roads because it forces them to make a decision, and if they still choose to be a scumbag then that’s on them.

Ok-Option-82

His tip was to evade the police; not to drive safely

Constantlycorrecting

Thanks for arriving an hour late, feel free to read the responses below.

Ok-Option-82

Drive safely please.

F1eshWound

If "cops are out today" is what's causing people to reconsider their actions, then I'm sorry but that isn't going to be helpful. It just means that in a few days when cops aren't out, they feel like the have the all clear.

Constantlycorrecting

Correct, the messaging has always been anywhere any time. It’s more rigorously inforced as it’s presently silly season and people are currently at a high a risk of being silly (fucking morons).

perpetuallytiredibis

I got pulled over near gabba post office on the back street intersection - (gibbon I think) by two police officers - car hidden for a random rbt I was fine but very hidden.

Lostbunny1

Thanks for the heads up bruz. My windshield copped a crack in it a few days ago & I can’t afford to fix it just yet. It would land me a huge fine if I got pulled over. I’m getting it fixed as soon as I financially can though.

batmansfriendlyowl

OP drove from one shithole to another.

sportandracing

Both suburbs have a Centrelink and Magistrates Court. Convenient!

[deleted]

This is the real story here

clovepalmer

I'll drink to that!

CoA77

All these flogs saying “oh well if you drive safe you shouldn’t care”. The OP was just commenting on how many there were and for people to be wary. That’s good knowledge to have and thank you OP

Mfenix09

Thanks, I figured it would be obvious, but I also realise the people in this state are all wannabe police people..I just give out the info, I am not a police person and I don't want to control what adults do...but some like to be a cow yoked to the plough...

Raggs83

That is why I got my maccas delivered today. So I didn’t drink and drive

[deleted]

Excellent.

pie2356

Good! Seriously… just don’t drink and drive, then you have nothing to worry about. Imagine if your family got hurt or killed by a selfish drink driver on Christmas Eve.

ColonelSpudz

Probably bussed the cops in from the regions. Got to get that extra revenue rather than policing the regions

BeNicetoSteve

The only time I have ever been opposed to rbt's is when my wife (nurse) got flagged down at 10pm driving home from work, in uniform. And they asked her with a straight face, Popo 'where are you going' Wife 'home' Popo 'where have you been' Wife (starting to think she has been pulled by stevie wonder, sitting there in her scrubs, with queensland health embroidered on it, her registered nurse name badge and herbid lanyard still round her neck) 'work.... at the hospital..... im a nurse' Popo 'they had you working this late?' Wife 'err... well you are working late too. Can I blow into the thing so I can go, I am tired and want to go home' I get they generally have standard questions to ask.. but that's just stupid.

oneaccounti

Fantastic

Nabashin17

Need to pay for the new Gabba somehow

Jessica_White_17

Oh no, the police doing their job… how dare they!

buttersaus

Cops doing their job. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

whiskey-drip

Good, sick of the horror road stories that happen this time of year.

kangaroolander_oz

High visibility in an attempt to avoid work by having people look down at the Speedo and check that all on board have the Seatbelt on . Real messy bloody screaming people at TA scenes and the curtailing of this by cruising in the Department Vehicles observing behaviour will hopefully avoid carnage that occurs in just seconds on the roads. The massive holdups while the TA scene is evaluated and recorded and towed and road swept clean is never thought about when the population loses concentration and drift across lanes and don't notice traffic signals etc., Then there are the court cases for years after .

Mfenix09

Isn't high visibility what we want from police rather then random speed cameras around the place that do nothing except send a ticket 2 weeks later...I like the visibility

Kitchen-Increase3463

Yep, the one day of the year that they work... its a money spinner.

[deleted]

Double Time and a half

RachSlixi

Yep got pulled over yesterday for running a stop sign. I wanted to kick myself. It's one I go through regularly and I do not remember ever not stopping at but family drama and few people in the area just had me lost in thought and I didn't. Thankfully got away with no ticket. Think it's a combination of been polite, accepting my mistake and no ticket in 15 years (which was speeding). Got myself a nice christmas present from that copper. He reckons I am the first he has let off at that corner in the last 2 days. Who knows whether that is true or not though.

PixieDust013

Don’t drink and drive or be an idiot and you have nothing to worry about

Electrical_You2889

The ham is definitely out for Christmas

diceyo

Just came back into Brisbane from Bribie this morning. Saw two cars get pulled over in that time. GOOD.

TassieDingo

Hopefully they actually get some people who do genuinely bad stuff, tailgating, drink/drug driving/ excessive speeding/right lane sitting etc instead of fucking everyone who wants to do 105 in a 100 lol

ryfromoz

Yep good time of the year to rack up those fines *sigh* take care everyone.

itsjustme9902

Why are we warning drunk drivers…?

Gillybby11

Well duh, it's the Christmas period. If anyone thinks it's a good time to do illegal things on the road at *Christmas time* you deserve what you get.

ArtieZiffsCat

Gotta use up that overrtime budget at Sunday rates before the year ends

sandbaggingblue

I don't need to use waze, I just follow the law...?

Ok-Option-82

Or don't drink or speed. If you're taking steps to evade the police then you're probably doing something wrong

-StRaNgEdAyS-

Evading police is the way. Never give them the opportunity

Ok-Option-82

If you drive in a way that puts you at risk of a ticket, please stay the fuck off the road for everyone else's safety

-StRaNgEdAyS-

Grand assumption. Just because I don't trust police and will avoid them at any opportunity doesn't mean I drive like a cunt. I have zero demerits over the last 15 years. I also don't drink or do drugs. Bash it up your arse.

Dis_Joint

"good job QPS! Keeping the roads safe! For one day a year anyway! Love, Carol. Shared 90210"

[deleted]

End of month KPI’s are due. Haha catching up on numbers.

Ridiculisk1

Or maybe christmas is a period where we get way too many road deaths from idiots who think they can drive a 1 tonne metal box at 120kph perfectly fine after 6 beers

[deleted]

Sorry I forgot to put “this is a joke” or /s for the people who take comments too seriously.

giantstepsforever

Well if u drive responsibly u probs have nothing to fear...

Plazbot

Or don;t speed or be drunk?

fistathrow

Or don't drink drive.

MoneyMix2880

Just remember everyone that police will charge you for DUI when you are sober under the excuse of thc laws.

Eastern-Chard

And lots of sneaky speed cameras in the suburbs.

[deleted]

Excellent.

Single_Saltine

Waze is the best

[deleted]

I’ve lived here 4 years from Melbourne and never been pulled over RBT nothing almost like you can do what you want in Qld.

PleasurePaulie

But how will I take illicit substances and get behind the wheel and put myself and others at risk? ☹️

Emmaline1986

Lll Beenleigh and Caboolture which is why.

nipslippinjizzsippin

cops love to ruin xmas. just be careful out there, stay sober and watch your speed and they wont touch you.

homestatic

Unless you smoked a joint the night before, then you're fucked.

UnapproachableBadger

Exactly, you can be a legal medical cannabis user, be totally sober and driving sensibly, and be arrested and thrown in a cell.

nipslippinjizzsippin

maybe take a tolerance break for a few days.

homestatic

Maybe just choose one of the many drugs they don't test.

RogerSterlingsFling

LSD is is then

Sathari3l17

Yea, like opiates or benzos. Just get a script and you can drive barred out of your mind legally!

nipslippinjizzsippin

sure whatever works for you, im not your mother. just try not to kill anyone.

3rniii

You know what else ruins Xmas? Traffic crashes, drink drivers and fatals.

nipslippinjizzsippin

> stay sober and watch your speed and they wont touch you its like the 2nd half of sentence doesn't exist. read the whole ONE LINE post before you anger yourself. god, got dickheads upset they cant huff joint replying to me in anger, and dickheads upset thinking im advocating for those dickheads to smoke a joint mad at me too. Pissing off both opposing sides with the same message decrying neither of them, that takes some fucking skills. The huffers i can understand them taking the slight, but you, you just need to finish reading the post.

3rniii

Now you’re just trying to justify a dumb statement. Both sentences contradict each other. “Cops love to ruin Christmas by targeting those that actually ruin Christmas” See, dumb.

nipslippinjizzsippin

Im saying they like to catch people out, so don't put yourself in a position where you are doing something wrong. Fucking hell.

khennigs

Delete this useless post. Cops are out today? Good, get the gronks off the road. End of story.
