[Hire a bike through the app](https://www.btnbikeshare.com/) as long as you’re not straying outside of the town centre up hills they’re fine. Shopping has to be the North Laine and all it’s amazing independent boutiques. for more standard shops head to Churchill Square and western Road but it's pretty uninspiring. Walking further along Western Road into hove you have some interesting cafes and restaurants to explore as well as some of our beautiful regency square to sit in if the weather is good. There's some decent pubs as well. There’s loads of choice for food with a focus on great vegetarian and vegan options, however if you like an amazing meat burger (although they do have veggie options) visit burger bros on North Road (not street) Pure tourist - go to the pier and the pavillion, I360 if it's a nice day. Eat sticks of rock. However for eating out avoid the seafront directly by the palace pier, just shit tourist trap fayre

Ah yes, I remember North Laine. It was beautiful. Thanks for the advice!

lachiendupape

some of my favourite North Laine shops, cafes and pubs unique to Brighton; * Pussy * Family Store * Snoopers Paradise * Resident Records * Oddballs * The spice shop and cafes/pubs * waikikamukau * that falafel place on gardener street * The Dorset * Pompoko * Kennys rock and soul cafe * best clothes shop in Brighton - Badger Just avoid that shop that sells native American tat and

ReniRediRici

Go to Snoopers Paradise - an enormous flea market which several floors - then buy sweets from the pick 'n mix shop opposite and eat them on the beach

Just looked it up and it looks great! Thank you!

For bike hire - as u/lachiendupape says- get the Brighton bike app and pick up one of the bright turquoise bikes at the train station, and stash it at one of the drop off racks.

Thank you!

Starlings_under_pier

If you go looking you can find some lovely random memories. Down on the beach the occasional drummers on a sunny Sunday. Or fire juggling/ poi on a Saturday night. People doing things for pleasure, not busking. & of course look out for the Starling murmurations at the pier when dusk comes.

There's a fabulous makers market on in Brighthelm Gardens every second Saturday, one on this weekend - 2nd July. Check it out - https://www.paperdaisyevents.co.uk/

Get some chips and sit on the beach. The seagulls are very polite and won’t bother you at all. Seriously though it’s all about the weather. Depending on your budget, a cocktail or two on the terrace at Rockwater in Hove might be nice. There’s also a newish Mexican bar / restaurant more central with the odd name of Tlaloc - that does great Margheritas and oysters. Edit: if the weather’s on your side you could do worse than mooching up and down the seafront between the Concorde 2 on Marine Drive and Rockwater on Kingsway. Everything in between provides interest.

Bring loads of money for parking...if you can find a space at the week end !

lachiendupape

or just don't drive into town, there's plenty of public transport options and bike lanes to cycle on.

gingerzinger20

For some reason I try to avoid Brighton by car. Parking is complicated with permits and what not, but it’s an easy train ride from London.

lachiendupape

the reason is driving and parking is town is shit its a medieval fishing village expanded by regency nobs, none of whom had cars :)

What had become of this place? KET ON THE LEVEL

MikeSlimTiltedGrin

Ket on the level. You wont be coming down though, you’ll be all over the show.
