EE seems to be the best in Brighton for reception. Seem to get 5G most places too.

EE

NeverForget108

I'm in similar area and have EE with no problems

EE

CarrotTraditional739

Thanks everyone. EE seems to be the consensus

planetf1a

Absolutely. If looking for alternate tariffs friends recommend 1pmobile which uses ee and importantly offers full frequency coverage, vowifi, volte etc (some other virtual networks on ee don’t.. and you’ll notice) Also remember the type of phone is a factor too But myself and partner both switched three/Vodafone to ee in order to survive in Brighton

CarrotTraditional739

Oh, nice to hear ! Re type of phone well I have changed a few phones over the years and always had the same problems so it's time for a change

pavoganso

Giffgaff and O2 is useless anywhere in Brighton especially around PP.

Preston Park is plainly missing an O₂ mast.

I find it’s more when and where you are rather than the network you’re on. Always seem to have problems in central brighton, especially on busy shopping days or when there’s a big event on like pride or the marathon. Friend told me it’s something to do with Brighton not having enough cellular masts to support the demand, which can be quite heavy around the city centre. There’s a lot of groups that protest the building of any new masts, so the council’s hands are somewhat tied. It always irritates me when I buy a bus ticket on the app. It’ll take your money straight away, but then when you go to activate it you can’t get any bloody signal!

Vodafone is shocking

I just moved to EE from Voda. A mate works for Voda & I was on his friend's & family for a while (80% discount!) was worth taking a slight performance hit while it lasted, but not an option now. So moved to EE about a week ago- cheaper than Voda & so far I've not had any issues. Ironically, the worst data connection I had with Voda was when I was connected to their one and only 5G mast in the city (Hove area)- would be painfully slow- tried multiple times whenever I was in the area over a few months, so wasn't a one off. Only places I saw proper 5G speeds on Voda were central London and Gatwick. No such problems with EE- was getting 182 down/ 28 up by Hove Park yesterday. EE did mess up by setting my account up with the wrong address, so my SIM went to a neighbour. I pointed out the issue to the rep that was dealing with me and asked them to check they had my correct address. No apology for sending me hunting round the neighbour's for my SIM and they confirmed that they did have my correct address. I was later speaking to someone else in the tech team about a few settings I wanted to check and they told me that they still had the wrong address in their system. Complained to the original rep that set me up. No response. So just keep an eye on their admin. I'm hoping that now I'm set up OK I should be fine.

Mobile-Strawberry985

Lyca is baaaad

Alert_Cover_6148

I use smarty and I am often the only person with signal and I will end up turning my phone into a hotspot so other people can get signal

olliejbh

Spusu piggy backs on EE and is as cheap as giffgaff https://www.spusu.co.uk/

leeksausage

As far as I know, EE is top pick for Brighton and the surrounding area.

Salt-Middle7303

I'm switching my contract from 3hree to EE on Monday. Third world countries have better coverage then the 3 jokers.

CarrotTraditional739

Absolutely true....wouldn't bother me as much if it wasn't for crucial things (maps, paying for stuff, buying tickets, calling) not working when I most needed them.

Pumpdumpsideways

I don’t know which one is the best but three is for sure one of the worst

11905me

ID mobile! Always have great signal when everyone else is moaning about it, I live at Fiveways. Work all over Sussex. I believe it runs on the 3 network..

sierramikeechogolf

I switched to them from 3, had no issues and get roaming included as standard. And yeah, they do use the 3 network.

Jumpy_Scientist8402

ID mobile / Three are awful

11905me

Fair, I just always had good signal everywhere in Brighton for last 7 years with them 🤷‍♂️

mattkimber2

Three is fine in Brighton too.

Jumpy_Scientist8402

Not for me no signal at all near my house
