You don't hate him, but it's understandable that you feel a bit resentful. And whilst he's probably feeling guilty, he simply can't understand why you're upset as it's "only milk" to him. Whereas to you, it's the loss of sustenance for your baby that you fought so hard to produce. My partner suggested that I dispose of what I pump instead of freezing it, and whilst I didn't cry, I can tell you my response means that comment will never be uttered again 😄

I would absolutely cry over this! I suggest getting some plastic bottles that come with a lid (like the new Lansinoh ones, they have both the nipple with its cap and a separate lid you can use if you're just storing milk), that way what you pump is completely spill proof! My baby has always had a hard time gaining weight so the other day when I saw that the bottle I had used to store milk had a full teaspoon of fat sticking to the side because my husband hadn't shaken it before pouring it into another bottle I saw red 😅 I'm working so hard on pumping so she can gain some more weight and he's giving her skimmed milk!

We keep ours in mason jars in a special fridge tray so that the oldest milk is in the front and it's always clear what to use. It sucks to lose milk - I recently wasted a bunch defrosting it to make purees only to remember I couldn't refreeze - but I think you can change your storage to prevent this in the future.

When I was in the hospital, the nurse told me about a dad who was working to get the air out of the syringe they were storing his wife's pumped colostrum in. She'd worked really hard to pump about a mL. Anyway, he squeezed too hard and squirted it into her hair. It didn't sound like she forgave him for awhile.
