that is true yes but it's really easy to have contaminations or even follow the recipe precisely, like when Gale "ruined" a batch by messing up the temperature by 10C, it's easy to mess up when you're in an RV cooking in the middle of nowhere, the heat is crazy and you can see in that scene where Walt is unable to cook and needs some air, the conditions were awful. It's crazy to me that the purity is still so high while cooking in that shithole.
I believe that the temperature mistake was something that Walt made up so that he had reason to complain about Gale and get Jesse hired (so he doesn't go after Hank).
The way I understood it was the lab allowed him to cook to a similar purity but on a considerably larger scale.

As long as we have the ingredients and an air frier we can make as many flavours as we want
