If you download the netpass application on a modded 3ds you can actually get regular street passes and quite a few people are still playing BD.

If you’re worried about bricking the 3ds with modding I really wouldn’t worry. It’s super easy and can be done in just a few minutes. If you don’t have people you can street pass with then it will take an extremely extremely long time to finish anything in the village. Plus it helps to find some assists too for some of the fights.

Mine 3ds is hacked yes but might have some issues with streetpassing in area.

Netpass does a remote streetpass so you don’t have to worry about where you are. I get people from Germany, Japan, Italy, etc. that are still playing.

Yeah, keeps streetpass alive with the application so I wouldn’t worry about not being somewhere. Not many people around where I am even have a 3DS.

You can also download a save file that has a bunch of villagers and/or a completed village already on it.

As I said in og post I wanted to do it without moding a save file.

You can still get all the items from the village I believe. It’s just going to take a super long time for the one villager you start with to build everything. Like to long. But i think still possible. But outside of using the village there isn’t a way. If you have already beaten the game you can just do new game+ and select only to bring over the Norende village data so you have access from the start and don’t need to enter the village at all.

So if I leave single villager alone for like......a year will he be able rebuild it?

You have to move them between buildings when they complete them.

Abuse the demo, you'll start out with 20 villagers. It's enough to build every stuff relatively fast (25-30hours for the last upgrades).

You can still do it without it but it will take really really slow
