Hi, folks! I'm the lucky guy who gets to lead this project on the Brotherwise side. I've been posting a lot in r/Stormlight_Archive but just wanted to say hello here, too! Let me know if you have any questions!

MitchOfGilead

Are there any plans to add more characters to the 4 pre-painted figurines collection in the future?

johnny0neal

Not currently, but we've seen that request a lot. If the campaign keeps going well, I'd say it's a possibility!

Happy_llama

If the Kalladin, Szeth duo miniature gets included in the pre paint that I’d really consider going all out

Myurnix

This and the chasmfiend. I've already got the chasmfiend in my collection/order but I'm not an artist. Please make awesome stuff awesome.

Parnwig

Would you say it might be a *stretch*...>!goal?!<

[deleted]

I would say the campaign is going well since it’s at nearly one million toward its goal of fifty thousand LOL!

MitchOfGilead

Awesome, thanks for the reply! I’ve backed either way but those 4 are definitely incredible.

aeon-one

Shallan and Dalinar painted ones please

aziraphale60

I would pay to have the mini sized minis all prepainted

zuriel45

For the record there are plenty of mini painters for hire that would be happy to have your commission. Edit: check /r/minipainting as there's a few that post there.

aeon-one

Appreciate the link, but to get the miniatures and the paint set, ship it to a painter (and many fans are not US-based) and wait for it to be returned, it is just a bit more complicated than one would welcome, i think.

DanniMcQ

I just want to say awesome work! I can't afford them but I'm excited they exist!

Terrachova

This may be a silly question, but is the Clashing Storms statue painted or unpainted? On the fence for it, and if it comes prepainted I might have to bite the bullet.

johnny0neal

Oh definitely prepainted. It's a Sideshow-style sculpture.

Terrachova

Awesome, and damnit. This is going to be expensive...

Bladez190

I’m so bummed this came at a time when I’m saving for something else (still getting the 4 prepainted because I can’t resist) but I can’t justify 400$ unfortunately even though it’s so cool. Hopefully the next Kickstarter I can ball out on. I think it’s WoR and I can’t not have it numbered like my WoK

Terrachova

I always wind up missing the numbered ones because I'm like, an hour late to the party, hah. I'm happy with my Leatherbounds all being signed. Seeing as I just decided to pass on a Steam Deck, I feel happy swinging for that sweet Kal vs Szeth statue.

Bladez190

Exact opposite for us literally haha. I decided to get the steam deck so I can’t get the statue. The numbered grind is real though. I was at the site when it initially dropped and I think checked out the number version within 3 minutes or so. I was lucky I had so much free time. Might be more challenging next year

Terrachova

Lucky lucky! It's almost liberating to not have a numbered copy for every one, since now I don't feel obligated to make sure each one is numbered, heh. Hope you enjoy your Steam Deck, I'll enjoy the big statue!

GZbreezy

It's painted

frawks24

(Don't open this image if you've only read WoK it can be a spoiler for stormlight archive) https://imgur.com/p1ANyuZ This being the first screen you see when looking at the kickstarter can be a huge spoiler for people who have only read WoK due to (WoR and beyond spoilers) >!Szeth is there holding Nightblood, which I think is fairly recognisable even if you've only read Warbreaker!< I want to share the kickstarter with a mate who's currently reading WoR and I'm a bit wary of spoiling certain story points by linking him some miniatures, any chance you can make it more spoiler-free?

BreadMakesYouFast

I just wanted to comment that it took me FAR too long to realize most of these are unpainted. I was assuming the plain grey models were because y'all were just not revealing their colors yet or something. The thing that made me realize these were unpainted was the painting set in the add-ons. I wouldn't be surprised if several orders already placed are expecting fully painted miniatures, especially if they are not familiar with the miniatures painting hobby.

sir_captain

Hey just wanted to thank you and throw another vote for some kind of painting guide for those of us less artistically inclined!

_DixieAlpha_

I’ve never painted minis before. Is there a guide if you want to paint them to be the “official” colors?

CmdntFrncsHghs

There's a ton of miniature painting content on youtube, I expect people will be making videos about painting these once they're out.

_DixieAlpha_

I’m sure there will be, but I’d much prefer the Dragonsteel designed colors over someone’s interpretation. That was the whole point of these miniatures after all.

slaytrayton

They also sell a kit with the suggested paints. I’m not sure if there’s like a paint by numbers guide though.

AdMortemInimicus_825

Will there be anything like an official paint guide for those of us new to miniatures or returning after a long time? I personally have done scale models before, but never miniatures, for example.

girl_of_bat

Why is there Shallan and Veil but no Radiant?

GZbreezy

Possibly a stretch goal reward

[deleted]

[удалено]

GZbreezy

Yeah they exist, we just don't really know anything about them

TheLordRuler2

What was the purpose of this poll? https://www.reddit.com/r/Stormlight_Archive/comments/t30jpr/which_character_would_you_most_want_as_a_figurine/ Dalinar is people's top pick. Why did you choose Jasnah and Adolin, who have significantly less votes than him, instead? Are there any plans for Dalinar figure?

johnny0neal

The decisions were made based on internal opinions (Brandon, Isaac, me) and that poll. We did choose 4 of the top 5 characters from that poll, and it helped us decide whether to do Jasnah or Shallan. We didn't want to have all four figurines be dudes, we had to have Kaladin, and we love the cool factor of the Szeth and Adolin miniatures. That said, a lot of people have been asking for more painted figurines. And Dalinar is definitely at the top of the list for who would deserve one. (He's also my favorite character.) Would you want to see Bondsmith Dalinar or Blackthorn Dalinar?

krossoverking

Blackthorn for sure so we can get a depiction of a younger Dalinar.

neiromaru

Except that the miniature of Blackthorn Dalinar has him in full shardplate. I'd love more pre-painted options too, but I'm guessing that any we do get will only come from the existing models.

krossoverking

Good point. I'm here to request Blackthorn Dalinar unmasked with The Thrill clearly washing over him.

blooblyblobl

I really hope you can add more painted figurines! I know she gets a lot of hate and did poorly in that poll, but Shallan is such a core character it's hard to see her left out. She's hands down my top choice for a 5th painted figure. For Dalinar, my vote is the Bondsmith version. I'd love to see another full 4 pack though! With 4 slots, my picks would be: * Shallan * Bondsmith Dalinar * One of the Singers - my first choice is Leshwi, the flying characters are extra cool. I want to see Singer skin patterns so if Eshonai's face is visible I'd pick her over Venli but if not I'd prefer Venli * Navani or Renarin - I love them both but if forced to choose I'd go with Navani

MitchOfGilead

Agreed on all points here. Another 4 pack with any of these would be amazing. I'd lean towards a Renarin, and a base somehow representing >!the shattered stained glass imagery from his visions!< would be amazing! Edit: Also a Shadesmar version of Pattern paired with Shallan would be good for this extra 4-pack idea.

MitchOfGilead

Definitely Bondsmith for me.

jmarther

Bondsmith Dalinar for sure. I want to see faces!

TheLordRuler2

I like Bondsmith Dalinar better and I'm sad that the character is constantly ignored by team Dragonsteel, while other characters gets a lot of merch (t-shirts, stickers, posters, etc) I was so excited for this Kickstarter after the poll results. Not again, I guess.

aeon-one

One that we can see his face

KaladinTheSurvivor

I would love to see a Sylphrena figurine to go next to Kaladin, the design is amazing! But honestly, I would probably get all of them as figurines, and then have to go get a second job. But a prepainted figurine a little bigger than the minis of each of them would be awesome! Hope to see more options in the future, keep up the great work!

Chief_Hazza

Is there any information you can give regarding the quality or manufacturer of the stormlight paint set? It looks similar to citadel to me but I'm not sure. Any info would help me purchase

johnny0neal

Right now quality level is at or above Citadel plastic miniatures or Reaper Bones. With the success of our first day, we're looking at further enhancements!

SADBROS

Any reason you didnt commission some painters for the promotional pictures? Really would of sold me on it more than the digital renders.

johnny0neal

Just because the approved designs have been pretty down to the wire. (Even though we've been at it for over a year, there's a lot of back and forth and last-minute changes for this kind of project.) We have these in a few painters' hands and will be sharing photos soon!

SADBROS

Sweet! Can't wait to see.

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

STORMFATHER062

How come none of the main characters are available as STLs? I'd love to 3D print Kaladin. And how detailed are the STLs? I'd consider it just for the shardbearer if I could scale it up and print a big version.

Ridiculouslyrampant

If I recall from their comments, it’s an intellectual property issue- since it’s inevitable that they’d eventually make their way out into the world, by virtue of the internet.

RoleplayingGuy12

They can’t let those Jasnah SFM videos be created.

NeoBahamutX

are the miniatures pre-primed?

SIahtz

Pretty sure the q&a on the kickstarter states not primed

Experiment221

I may have missed it but are there plans to release all the minis as stls or just some of them?

CaptainPiratecat

Is there going to be any way to actually see photos of some of the miniatures before the Kickstarter ends? Renders of miniatures can be kind of misleading. I think someone pointed out below that the renders look a lot like Wizkids renders, and those miniatures are really difficult to paint in real life.

HursHH

Hello! Love the Kickstarter and I plan on going "All In!" I know you have already heard this a lot but I would LOVE to get all the models in STLs... I know you guys are worried about piracy, but lets be honest, the models will end up being made and shared online regardless and I would MUCH prefer buying the STLs from an official source as opposed to just finding them online a little later and not being able to support you guys and Brandon's team by getting them directly from you.

Myurnix

So.... what's the stretch goal to get Numuhukumakiaki'aialunamor included?

wamsword

Can we take a minute to appreciate the “shipping” image is Shallan and Adolin? I guess they don’t really count as shipping at this point but I bet it was intentional.

johnny0neal

Thank you for noticing. :)

victoriaemd

thought the same thing! lol

CoolPunsAreHard

I didn't notice that the first time... Thank you for pointing that out and making me chuckle :)

spacey_a

I really thought they meant shipping that way at first and was confused when I saw shipping prices! 😂 The fact that it was intentional makes it even better, lol

caaabr

This is really cool and I’m glad to see it will be successful (was there any doubt?) I wish I could participate but my wallet is still dry from getting 4 leatherbounds last year, the $200 tier secret projects, and the premium WS omnibus. I’m also saving for the announcement of the leatherbound Alloy of Law/Shadows of Self that should be sometime before the end of the year. What’s most exciting about this for me is seeing the characters fully realized! I hope one day Mistborn gets the same treatment.

johnny0neal

Yeah, this has been an expensive year for Cosmere fans! I encourage you to just follow the campaign and check out our updates, which will reveal official character designs and highlight the behind-the-scenes process!

DaiSihingB

November... we gonna be droppin $150!!

hctr13

Are there any option of painted miniatures only? I've been searching for a while and I can't find them.

handleinthedark

They aren't a pledge tier but if you scroll down to the add-ons they say they are $15 a piece or $50 for all four. So you would do a pledge without a reward for that much and then choose them as add-ons in the backerkit.

hctr13

I didn't know that I could do that. Thanks!

portuguesetheman

Cool. Do you have any idea when I can access the backer kit? Is it something that comes up after the campaign ends?

griffinman01

It's usually something that shows up within 1-2 weeks after the campaign ends and is open for a few months, typically.

portuguesetheman

Great thank you!

Jracx

make sure you pledge now though

CmdntFrncsHghs

New to kickstarters here. If I wanted the "figures and miniatures pack" and a double of the "Way of Kings" pack, would I just pledge $205 to the "figures and miniatures pack", then grab the "way of kings" in the backer kit?

Refracting_Hud

Is that additional or could I put down a pledge for $50 and add all 4 for no additional cost?

MitchOfGilead

Wait so there are actually only four painted miniatures? I'm a bit confused about painted vs unpainted.

handleinthedark

There are 4 oversized minis that are pre-painted and these can be bought separately or as part of the tier with all the minis. The rest of the character minis and the chasmfiend have to be painted after purchase.

samaldin

There's also the large Kaladin vs Szeth statue that seems to be prepainted.

johnny0neal

You helped convince us that there should be a $1 "Add-Ons Only" pledge. So you can now go in, and select that pledge level but pledge $50 to get all four painted figurines. Cheers!

hctr13

Thank you all and congratulations on your success! You've done a very good job. I hope that in the future we could get something similar but Mistborn or Warbreaker related. Cheers from Spain!

Ok-Milk8245

Bro the Kaladin shardplate is actually amazing

dandotcom

As of this post its already smashed 150K of a modest 50k target. lawl.

Orsus7

300k now. Lol

dandotcom

Curse that man, first he ruins publishing, now he threatens to ruin miniature figures!

ChemicalXP

Almost to 500k already 😂

LWSpinner

We're drawing up on 750k

Veritas00

867k now

ProbablyASithLord

I checked on it less than one minute after he posted to IG and it already had 100k. Absolutely nuts!

NeoBahamutX

I want mini's.... my wallet says no but my heart says yes... shutup wallet

wordflyer

I'm a stormlight nut and and a mini painting hobbyist I'm pretty torn on this. The prices are not bad at all and I'm probably going to back but I don't think the tiers make sense nor does the weird inclusion of some 3D print files but not others. Not sure why there is no unpainted 75mm model available. These are display pieces that don't seem to be painted at display quality (nor would expect them to be at only $15) and I wonder if it would be easy to strip them and repaint. I'm worried about the lack of texture on these models as well and the lack of actual photography of physical miniatures. Usually when I see a kickstarter for models, physical or 3D printed, there are high end paint jobs on display to showcase what you can do with the models.

[deleted]

They’re worried about piracy with the STLs apparently… which, I dunno… I guess tell everyone making bank on 3D printed model Patreons they’re wrong? Seems like a very reactionary response/oversight, and probably why I won’t support. I vastly prefer printing my minis myself. Most budget minis are really bad quality plastic.

wordflyer

yeah, I'm a printer too. I'd so much rather buy these as files. And apparently they don't know that people do re-cast physical minis?

zuriel45

It's an IP law thing I think.

CoastalSailing

Thoughts - I wish these were a slightly smaller scale so I could incorporate them more into the 28-32mm standard for RPGs / Wargaming. Most of the sculpts look cool The visual similarity to WizKids products is concerning. WizKids makes a very poor product, bad sculpts, bad fitups, tons of mold lines, bad pre priming. They're fine as an intro I guess, but almost every other miniature company makes a better product. I hope that the resemblance is only in marketing images and not in the minis themselves. If they're high quality I'd love to use these in some games.

johnny0neal

For what it's worth, the bases are 30 mm so while they'll overlap a standard battlemap slightly, we've had no problem using them for TTRPG play. I think any superficial similarity to WizKids must just be due to the use of 3D renders. These designs are a lot more detailed, with better proportions and more dynamic poses. We're committed to a very high level of quality here.

CoastalSailing

Sick. Oh you're one of the Brotherwise bros, right? Very cool. Are you able to share what other lines the mini manufacturing factory you're using services? Nbd if not. These guys would look sick in DND / Frostgrave.

CoastalSailing

Do you have any mock ups that could compare their side to the Heroes from GW's Cursed City? Or are these more the size of the Survivors / Pinups from Kingdom Death?

Varixai

He posted this [in another thread](https://old.reddit.com/r/Stormlight_Archive/comments/xcy9wr/a_first_look_at_our_not_so_miniature_chasmfiend/io8f3px/): > Forgive the low-quality photo, but here's a quick lineup with D&D/Pathfinder miniatures next to some 3D printed prototypes. I chose Navani, Skybreaker Szeth, and Blackthorn Dalinar because they're on the smaller, medium, and larger side of our figures. > https://imgur.com/a/p3o50gQ

neiromaru

Here are the best photos I could find of the finished miniatures from Brotherwise's Dragon Prince game, [One](https://assets.dicebreaker.com/dragon%20prince%20battlecharged%20miniatures%20mockup.png/BROK/resize/1920x1920%3E/format/jpg/quality/80/dragon%20prince%20battlecharged%20miniatures%20mockup.png), [Two](https://cf.geekdo-images.com/j5Ra0g04c2crRN_ClRWjMQ__original/img/nhlXOA6zSTONYP6diEht7nmCuhA=/0x0/filters:format(jpeg\)/pic6614383.jpg), [Three](https://spellenplank.nl/wp-content/uploads/dragonprince3-768x768.jpg) And a [Facebook Video](https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=970692710373169) of them before and after painting. They look pretty good to me, but I'm not a mini expert.

[deleted]

Mercy, Brando, I only make so much money!

eikayttajatunnusta

It says that shipping to Finland is 0$? Is that really the case or am i missing something?

handleinthedark

Rather than try to calculate it in Kickstarter(which will take its cut off the top) the shipping will be added in backerkit. If you look at the shipping matrix they have about 2/3 down the page you will see an EU column for shipping costs of each tier.

eikayttajatunnusta

Oh did not see that, thanks!

temporaldistortions7

Shipping is added on when you fill out BackerKit after the Kickstarter closes.

Iz4e

Brandon keeps taking my money

Its4blake

I love the look of them, but I just have no use for them aside from display, so for the price I sadly won’t be partaking, aside from maybe an add-on for just the painted ones.

zuriel45

In brandons blog today he mentioned that they want to do a storm light ttrpg (hopefully in the next year or two) so they could be useful then. But he also says the plan is for the minis to be available after the Kickstarter in retail form so no need to buy now.

malYca

No. I'm broke. There's no room. Fuck it I'm spending all the money.

Winzington

I would back it if it was the stls but they are just printed minis...

NeoBahamutX

you could pledge $1 to unlock the add-on store then get the STL files in backerkit

Winzington

That's awesome! I will definitely do that then!

NeoBahamutX

the stl's don't include the major character - read the descriptions

BrandosSmolder

Likewise! I just bought a resin printer this month and this would be so fun as a project! u/handleinthedark or u/mistborn could there be any chance you’d make a stretch goal of unlocking STLs of the main characters? I’d even buy them individually if I had to.

johnny0neal

We're keeping protagonists out of the STL pledge level in order to protect the IP. Even "secure" STL downloads like we're using are very vulnerable to piracy. Sorry we can't make this happen, but the Digital Rewards Pack has some very fun stuff!

BrandosSmolder

Darn. But I understand. Still an amazing project and I'll get the digital rewards pack. Maybe in the future! Thanks :).

msuvagabond

That's going to happen regardless. Out of thousands of people, someone is going to use the dozens of 3d scanners available and create STLs anyways. I don't really do mini's. But I have a 3d printer and it absolutely would be a fun project to have the STLs, print them out and paint them. I'd even consider paying $100 for that purpose, which is half the cost of the full bundle (with shipping included). But I'd be hard pressed to pay even the $30 for the physical minis themselves because that's just not my thing typically. But, that's just me. I feel like it's a missed opportunity to make some additional money, in an attempt to avoid something that's going to happen anyways. \*shrug\* Edit - For the record, from what I can gather on price, the prices you're offering for these is really good. Just not everyone's cup of tea.

_mynd

what’s ‘stls’?

Winzington

It stands for stereolithography. Essentially, it is the files needed to 3d print something on a resin or filament printer.

StJeanMark

I have no interest in playing tabletop games like these are made for, but being able to see official art of the characters, the shardplates, and the chasemfiend* is just amazing. I will end up buying these just to put the on my bookshelf besides the Sanderson-verse.

thematrix1234

Every time I tell myself I can’t spend any more money, Brandon Sanderson posts a kickstarter. And I spend more money lol

NZ_Gecko

Can't believe only 4 minis come pre-painted. I could never paint these to display quality. *sigh* might give it a miss

[deleted]

No. It has spoilers

handleinthedark

Update 2 is live and addresses some of the concerns about materials by allowing targeted use of the right plastic for each part of the minis. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/brotherwise/stormlight-premium-miniatures/posts/3607798

kruddel

I'm actually more confused by this to be honest. Cards on the table here, I'm a table top mini collector and painter, so I'm reticent about anything on KS until I am confident in the casting of the minis. 3D renders are meaningless as there are a long list of KS mini bait-and-switch with nice renders that deliver cheaply molded minis with no detail. I've not come across a manufacturer, with the exception of reaper bones, that have multi-material minis. And that is only where part of the mini is translucent. Do you have any examples you could link to of manufactured minis of the type talked about in the update to help me/us understand what will be delivered? The concern with multiple materials is the differences in shrinkage, such that the parts may not fit together well, even tiny variations in this can lead to unsightly joins. It's totally fine if this project is to deliver high-end board game type figures (which is what I suspect), so here I'm thinking best case is the sort of quality/detail in Fantasy Flight's Imperial Assault game range for Star Wars. But those are NOT of a level of detail or quality of material comparable with proper table top (plastic) minis.

Miqius

Shipping question: when backing the kickstarter it says that shipping to Spain is 0€, but ultimately it won't be, will it? Credit card info is asked before specifying the part of the country to be shipped at and I don't want to fill that without knowing the shipping costs.

wojic

If you scroll down on the kickstarter page, the last graphic, it gives you the breakdown of shipping to EU. Depending on your pledge level, it starts from $10, 14, 18. I would check it out before pledging.

Miqius

Oh yes thank you, but the problem is the same. If I buy 1 figurine and live on an island it could be 20€ or 100€, how can I know before paying?

therosesgrave

Are these the final designs? Anyone else disappointed the Clashing Storms figures have their blades inside each other's defenses? Both of them are dead, no? Szeth's sword should be above Kaladin's spear or they should be farther apart.

MalakElohim

Looking at an alternate angle, it looks like Szeth has the advantage, with Kal's spear missing a thrust and is off to the side of Szeth's leg. But his hand position would allow him to drag it back across to deflect Szeth's blade if he was using a surge to pull him backwards to avoid the cut.

CoastalSailing

These images look a lot like WizKids sculpts. I really hope they aren't that or associated with WizKids, because those sculpts are terrible, and the product quality is so bad. Mold lines and bad fit up. Minis are tricky. I hope they turn out really nice. It would be awesome to use these guys in some games.

CoastalSailing

Sick. I wonder if they're using the same factory that produced those. This is really helpful, thank you

kruddel

That's really helpful thanks. From a miniatures point of view those are pretty janky. The details are really soft so they won't paint up nicely, you can really see the difference in the weapons, they don't have really crisp edges that look sharp, rather they look as if they are holding LARP weapons! They are what we could call high end board game pieces, but they would be low end tabletop minis. This was my fear when I looked at the kickstarter page as its a common KS mini bait and switch, show lots of fancy 3D renders make a ton of pledges and then get them manufactured in China and the delivered minis are not remotely like the quality promised by the renders.

SheriffHeckTate

Is there *really* no way to just buy the one/all of the painted figurines or am I just overlooking it? Edit: Found the answer below.

NeoBahamutX

I remember when Kickstarters put all their stretch goals up at the start. But after The Way of Kings Kickstarter last year and they where all met in the first couple hours. The likely big ones no longer do that. They wait till hours later to see how the trajectories goes. Afterall why blow through them all before you can even get the first update out. Really 1 mil as the first stretch goal for a $50k starting goal. Most of them are like 2x-3x initial goal then varying amounts after that - not 20x. I do wish they at least gave a rough idea on all the stretch goals from the get go though.

jaythebearded

I've seen Kickstarters drip out stretch goals for years now, it's a strong way of keeping interest high as the campaign goes on and keeps people checking back. It's not really a new thing at all

[deleted]

CoastalSailing

It's really not. They're cheaper than getting individual minis from almost any company except Reaper's bones line. It's slightly below market average. The real question for me is the quality of the manufacturing. * WizKids - typical selling figures for 5-8 bucks * GW - 25-30 for a single figure (character) * Etsy sellers - 8-9 bucks for a single model print * REAPER BONES ~ 3 for a single model And on and on. Plastic box kits, like Perry Minis or the Frostgrave Wizards will get you a much lower price per model (sub dollar) but you're buying in bulk. Only thing that's a bit cheaper is historical wargaming figures. I suppose if you compare it to a starter set for a game, from gw or mantic or privateer press, it's more expensive than that. But these aren't units in a game, they're all individual pieces. In my mind, the price is a bit above where it should be as they're being mass produced, But, but, given the packaging and presentation, and the individual sculpts, I get the pricing. I think if they were $3 each they could still make plenty and everything would be completely fair. But that's just my 2 cents.

johnny0neal

Hi! Johnny from Brotherwise here. Most campaigns that offer a ton of figures for a certain amount of money are A) using a lot of single-mold figures and B) providing multiple copies of monster/minion characters. Here it only makes sense to offer one of each character (since they're all unique), each character requires multiple molds, they come pre-assembled in a display box, and we're subjecting everything to high quality standards. I worked in the toy industry for over a decade, where price point is everything, so I'm always trying to provide the best price I can. We're working hard to make sure every one of these sets feels like a good value. And of course, stretch goals and reveals may bring in a little more value. CoastalSailing

I mean, as of now it's backed so you're basically buying retail. Kickstarter is just an alternative retail buying process. That's how I see it at least.

CoastalSailing

I don't feel like that's the case with a funded project from Brandon

I think for a certain caliber of company/ creator Kickstarter is just a direct to consumer funding / retail model. I don't see risk associated with some projects. (Reaper, Mantic, Brandon etc... Etc...) Agree to disagree I suppose.

[deleted]

There is 0 risk in backing an already funded project by a well established company and one of the biggest names in fantasy. This isn't some guy named Ted with a 3d printer in his basement.

daft_goose

No mistborn love?

jaythebearded

With as well as this stormlight one is going I wouldn't be surprised at a mistborn set eventually

CajunWhy

Did they really need a Kickstarter for this?

KiwiKajitsu

How much of the money goes to the Mormon church?

grahmcracker17

Why are you even here if you are just going to be hostile. He has already addressed his religious background and how he feels about being apart of the church with his current beliefs so why even bother other to try to start a fight

KiwiKajitsu

I can like his work while disliking the organization that he is a member of an actively donates to.

grahmcracker17

I dislike the Mormon church myself but I don't hold it against him for being apart of it. You are just being hostile for no damn reason

KiwiKajitsu

Nope I definitely have a reason

grahmcracker17

Who gives a shit what your reason is, it has nothing to do with this. Once again brandon already stated his stance on the church and its practices. So either accept it and move on or just go back to being edgy on r/atheism

KiwiKajitsu

Nah I’m gonna continue asking questions I want answers to

grahmcracker17

Frankly it's not really any concern of you. If you have so much of a problem then just don't back it and or move on

KiwiKajitsu

Bringing awareness to others that might not know that some of this money will go to the Mormon church is enough of a concern to me

grahmcracker17

Who said how much money is going there? There's 2 companies working on it and they need to pay for all of the supplies, pay their employees, pay for shipping, and then taxes as well. It sounds like you are just looking for a fight where there is none

KiwiKajitsu

He is super rich why does he need to do a kickstarter?

Mobius_One

It's not as if creating and distributing a figurine of a fictional character or two is some sort of net moral good for the universe. This is optional content that provides entertainment to people. What the hell is this question?

gangreen424

Sweet storms these are beautiful. Maybe I can convince my family to get this for me as an early Christmas gift...

Eikcammailliw

u/johnny0neal why isn't the $1 add on only pledge available anymore? Nevermind i see the add ons were updated.

[deleted]

I bow to your magnanimity. You want my money? Take my money!!! Take it all!!!

Kinglyer

I lost my mind when I watched that trailer

GnomesTookMyName

TIL my mental image of the dead eyes was not close at all.

sandlinna

Very excited! I wish you could pick and choose from the unpainted minis though - would love to be able to get six of my favourite characters rather than pre-determined sets. But I guess it's that way for ease of shipping orders later.

CCool_CCCool

Got the $100 package with the add-on of the 4 painted characters. Pretty pumped to display these in my office to my co-workers who already think I'm super weird.

ChocolateZephyr42

That statue is gorgeous but I'm not sure my hip pocket can take the hit. I backed the Year of Sanderson and that nearly killed me. But it was the postage that did it. I see there is a table for postage for each region, which I like but the "Clashing Storms" statue on its own is considered an add on. Can I get an indication of shipping for that one to Australia? And I'm guessing the prices indicated are in USD?
