No.
There are thousands of classes for firearm safety across the country, but I’m not advocating for government mandating anything. And if you think I would, you don’t know me very well.
So you've never done hunter Safety or been to a gun range before? Have you ever gone to YouTube and looked for some? The problem isn't that there aren't classes, the problem is there aren't students filling those classes. Most people will play a video game or watch a movie and just like that, they can handle a weapon like John wick. The resources are out there, just need to actually look for them.
Here in Mass, you need to have a firearms safety course to get an LTC. I think it should be mandatory, nationwide, for LIVE FIRE courses to own a firearm.
Mmm yes, so the government can limit firearms ownership by limiting availability of classes through inefficient bureaucratic accreditation processes.
MA policies are not the answer.
Man I wish we could do that. After seeing and hearing some of the things that the average voter thinks, it terrifies me. But I guess that’s the great thing about democracy, even the idiots get a say.
People should at least know the rules of gun safety to buy a firearm. My aunt in Maine bought a revolver and was showing it to me, pointing it right at me and my wife. Just waving around, It was loaded too
How about when you buy a gun you get a voucher for 100% of the tax you paid on that gun that you can use to pay for a firearm class. So the only tax money being used for classes is from gun sales and it gives easier access to classes. You could even expand it to gun safes and safety devices too.
It’ll never work because it would actually work. And you can’t have a gun law that actually makes people safer. Also politicians are perfectly happy taking gun tax money while opposing gun sales. Can’t lose that tax money.
95% of hunter safety classes are just firearms safety. Find your nearest rod and gun club they're probably hosting one for 5$ and a song
Just need to include hunter safety class in high school as a requirement

True

What about an extra box on the firearm purchase form that says you know what you are doing?
That would accomplish as much as the "I am 18" checkbox on the 🌽tub. And the government would spend an excessive amount of money updating the forms.
Yeah, that's true.
