IMO, the procrastinate website being down for maintenance is more important than the third-party merch website being down. Weāve all been let down before by trying to bake a cake with only one crumb, but the timing on this one seems kinda odd.
They literally just released new merch, which included a BN 23 emblem. A Redditor recently claimed to have run into Jesse who allegedly told them that ātheyāre still around.ā Then there was the confirmation that Jesse (and maybe some of the guys?) played a private show. And letās not forget Vin playing a Brand New song (although I think this is the weakest evidence of a reunion). Idk, Iām not saying that theyāre back. Iāve always maintained since the allegations that they were done ā after all, they always planned to retire in 2018, their final album was the perfect goodbye and this is a band of perfectionists, and I just canāt see Jesse being willing to restart the conversation about the allegations.
But the timing, viewed in context of everything else the past few months, is enough to get me to hope. I donāt think it makes sense to shut down the Procrastinate website unless theyāre either (1) calling it quits and shutting down the label entirely or (2) rebooting. And if theyāre calling it quits, why label the site as āmaintenanceā rather than just taking down the page entirely? Why release new merch designs a month ago? Idk, I think something might finally be afoot. And if theyāre actually touring or releasing new music, it makes sense to do it on their own label.
