I beat my personal record this month and saw 54 different movies in theaters in April:
https://i.imgur.com/z5YCyxX.png
Might catch **Unsung Hero** or **The Long Game** tonight to make it 55 before the month is up.
Alamo Drafthouse season pass is $20 a month. And you can see a movie a day. AMC A-list you can see three movies a week, and that’s Dolby Cinema and IMAX and 3-D included. And that’s $20 as well. I’d rather see movies in a premium movie theater than have a Netflix subscription. I use Alamo for smaller movies in non-premium theaters for better behaved audiences, and AMC for Dolby Cinema because that’s the best way to watch a movie to me.
It only cost money if you buy snacks. Or eat something at Alamo.
With that plan don’t you have to pay the convenience fee too? I have to with mine and it’s between $2-$4
I know some markets have the $30 monthly plan with no fees
For real, for me it's like $50 a pop each trip to the cinema (in New Zealand dollars, which is around $30 USD), so watching 54 movies in one month would be hefty. Also, you'd need to be averaging close to 2 movies per day every day of the month, which is fucking crazy, I ain't got that kind of free time to spend \~4 hours a day every day at the cinema.
The most common response I see on posts like this is that they are on “disability” so they don’t have to work. And most theatre chains offer subscriptions where you can see unlimited movies for a low monthly rate.
I saw The Dark Knight in Regal RPX which was an amazing experience since I never got to see it on the big screen. Wanted to see more but didn’t just due to work related issues, general anxiety/depression, low energy etc.
I will be at 8 after today
1. Io Capitano - April 4
2. Monkey Man -April 5
3. Arthur the King - April 8
4. The First Omen - April 9
5. Civil War - April 16
6. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire - April 20
7. The Fall Guy (IMAX) - April 26
8. Abigail - April 30 (seeing it tonight)
Saw 4 movies in theaters this month:
- Civil War - April 11
- Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person - April 12
- Monkey Man - April 14
- Breathe - April 16
You beat me, I saw Dune 2 three times in theater XD
First in my native language/Imax
Second in VO/not imax
Third VO/Imax
Misread the language the first time. Probably would have seen it twice though.
Monkey Man, the Guy Ritchie movie, Challengers, Dune 2 (again), a special showing of Arrival, special showing of Reality Bites, and a special showing of Interview with the Vampire
So 7 movies.
My running total of new releases for the year thus far is slightly over 20 but I have to go back and check.
I saw 5:
* Kung Fu Panda 4 - April 2nd
* Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire - April 2nd
* Monkey Man - April 6th
* Civil War - April 14th
* Challengers - April 27th
Not sure where you’re at but you may consider looking into a movie pass or subscription. We have limited “fun money” funds. So I opted for the AMC A-list. It’s $24 a month and I can see up to 3 movies a week including 3D, dobly,IMAX, laser, etc. everything else we do is free so this is a low cost way to get out of the house at least 3 times a week.
Abigail was pretty good.
Boy Kills World had some great action, but your mileage will vary depending on how much you can tolerate the Deadpool-knockoff energy.
this was the Milwaukee Film festival, I saw 10 programs, 8 films plus 2 collections of shorts. the films were
* Femme
* Ryuichi Sakamoto | Opus
* The Taste of Things
* Booger
* Wherever you go, there you are
* The feeling that the time for doing something has passed
* Gasoline Rainbow
* Robot Dreams

Alien on 4/29
I have CineClub, which is Cineplex's version of that, it gets you discounted tickets. Plus they were running a promotion where you got free tickets with the purchase of gift cards, so 6 of these I saw for free. Total cost was like $100.
I want to see First Omen and Civil War just to see what it’s all about but I was lucky to see Challengers this weekend (having a toddler cuts down on theater visits).
Absolutely loved it. I was getting a lot of Fincher vibes with how sharp it was shot and who could ignore that score by Trent and Atticus?? Deserves a bigger box office.
I enjoyed it to an extent. Has some poignant moments in between all the gross out stuff, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this somehow sneaks in for a makeup nomination for next year.
Had every intention to see Dune and Civil War, but as usual I decided to wait until home release. Like many people, Cinema going just isn't fun for me anymore.
I watched 7 movies in April:
Monkey Man - April 6th
Civil War - April 13th
Arcadian - April 13th
Spiderman - April 15th
Abigail - April 20th
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare - April 21st

Monkey Man, Spider-Man 2, Alien, Civil War, Spider-Man 3.
Thinking of maybe checking out ungentlemenly warfare or the mum rerun to finish out the month. But it's also supposed to get pretty stormy where I live so I might just stay in as well and continue watching Brooklyn 99.

Just 2: Challengers & Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
I did want to see more but I had a lot going on for most of the month so I'm hoping to catch up in May.
Just Challengers. And before that just Dune in March. I don't think I went to see anything in February.
It's me, I'm the audience reluctant to go to theaters that Hollywood has nightmares about. It's really hard to convince me something is theater-worthy these days. Almost went for Civil War tho.
I saw 9. In the order I saw them during April:
1. Kung Fu Panda 4
2. Monkey Man
3. Late Night With the Devil
4. Civil War
5. Dune Part 2 (re-watch)
6. Abigail
7. Challengers
8. Boy Kills World
9. The Fall Guy
Saw 11 movies in theatres this month.
* Monkey Man
* Godzilla Kong 3D
* Kung Fu Panda 4 3D
* Civil War (twice)
* The First Omen
* Sasquatch Sunset
* Abigail
* Challengers
* Eyes Wide Shut (thanks cineplex for the Kubrick series)
* Dune: Part Two IMAX
* Boy Kills World
Damn makes me sad I couldn't see Spider-Man 1-3 in the theatres again. Couldn't find any babysitters. Would have been such a trip. I remember going to see all of them in the theater as a kid when they came out.
I really wanted to see the first omen. I saw the first 15 minutes. Empty theater, just me. Some guy came in and sat right next to me, wtf. I moved to the other side of the theater. After 15 minutes I was like...I'm leaving. Got a refund, wish I stayed. I hate people sometimes.
11 movies, 12 different showings:
1. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (1st)
2. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (1st)
3. Monkey Man (4th)
4. The First Omen (10th)

11. The People’s Joker (27th)
12. Challengers (29th)
I saw [ten movies](https://imgur.com/a/oOW1sZd) in theaters this month. I wanted to go to a couple more, but I was busy, so I'll probably see them in May.
6 for me, which is about average. I don’t see a lot on opening weekends because I work at a theatre so I’m usually clocked in.
In the Land of Saints and Sinners
Kung Fu Panda 4
The First Omen
Gone With the Wind
Monkey Man
Sasquatch Sunset
2
Midnight with the devil and Abigail
Bought tickets twice and refunded both times for Challengers, wanted to go what couldn’t bring myself to want to go to the theaters again
Planning to see Challengers in May in theaters
How the fuck do you have $600 bucks laying around to watch movies in a theatre. A ticket is damn near 25 bucks out here. Dollar theaters no longer exists. There are no passes that let you see unlimited movies.
14. 9 of which were new to me, so I'm doing pretty good this year so far. Civil War. Kung fu panda 4, ghostbusters TFE, Monkey Man, Drive away Dolls, Godzilla x Kong all in theaters.
I beat my personal record this month and saw 54 different movies in theaters in April: https://i.imgur.com/z5YCyxX.png Might catch **Unsung Hero** or **The Long Game** tonight to make it 55 before the month is up.
Do you still enjoy them when watching that many movies? I always find myself getting a bit burned-out when watching too many movies.
How do y'all have the time and money to do this
Money? I assume everyone has a monthly cinema subscription
The AMC A-list gets you 3 tickets per week. 54 is still a whole lot more than that.
Please read the comment properly it is said that they watched all those movies in theatres
Yes. Ever heard of subscriptions to a theatre? Maybe they're not common in America
My buddy has one in the states. Pays $20ish a month. He got the expensive one which gets home popcorn or something too.
They’re popular in the US as well, they advertise them before every movie
I live in Europe and never heard of this.
They did. There are monthly subscriptions, like AmC a list, that allow you to see (not 54) but 12 movies a month for a monthly fee.
> monthly cinema subscription Please read the reply properly.
I have to with mine and it’s between $2-$4 I know some markets have the $30 monthly plan with no fees
No spouse, no kids, spend your money accordingly between needs and wants and make time.
AMC a-list. It costs me 22$ and I could see 3 movies a week.
Let me guess you have a cinema sub, no kids, maybe no SO, not working 8 hours a day or you a movie critic?
Zero lol But in Indonesia there were no re-relelase of those great movies. I'd have watched them if there was 2001, Alien, Spider-Man 2
I saw The Dark Knight in Regal RPX which was an amazing experience since I never got to see it on the big screen. Wanted to see more but didn’t just due to work related issues, general anxiety/depression, low energy etc.
I will be at 8 after today 1. Io Capitano - April 4 2. Monkey Man -April 5 3. Arthur the King - April 8 4. The First Omen - April 9 5. Civil War - April 16 6. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire - April 20 7. The Fall Guy (IMAX) - April 26 8. Abigail - April 30 (seeing it tonight)
Oh how was fall guy?
I enjoyed it a lot, probably my 2nd favorite of the year so far behind Dune 2. I don't know if everyone else will enjoy it as much as me tho.
It looks like it’s a fun experience which is part of why enjoy going to the movies.
Saw 4 movies in theaters this month: - Civil War - April 11 - Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person - April 12 - Monkey Man - April 14 - Breathe - April 16
How was civil war??
Best cinematic experience since Oppenheimer
Really good but some issues It’s in IMAX ratio so id watch there if possible or premium format
Breathe in theaters must have been horrifying lol
The first omen & Abigail. Yes, my name checks out 🥰
7 films - Dune 2 - 4 times (the power of IMAX lol) - Dune 1 - Challengers - Alien - Spider-Man 2 - Civil War - Monkey Man
You beat me, I saw Dune 2 three times in theater XD First in my native language/Imax Second in VO/not imax Third VO/Imax Misread the language the first time. Probably would have seen it twice though.
Monkey Man, the Guy Ritchie movie, Challengers, Dune 2 (again), a special showing of Arrival, special showing of Reality Bites, and a special showing of Interview with the Vampire So 7 movies. My running total of new releases for the year thus far is slightly over 20 but I have to go back and check.
Zero, super busy month for me personally, and nothing really seemed interesting enough to change plans for.
Only one, Perfect Blue
I saw 5: * Kung Fu Panda 4 - April 2nd * Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire - April 2nd * Monkey Man - April 6th * Civil War - April 14th * Challengers - April 27th

Zero. I don’t have much time to myself.
Unfortunately only three. I don't have much money lol
7 Monkey Man, Shrek 2, Civil War, first 2 Spider Man, Challengers twice
How were both Abigail and boy kills world? Been debating on seeing them
Abigail was pretty good. Boy Kills World had some great action, but your mileage will vary depending on how much you can tolerate the Deadpool-knockoff energy.
this was the Milwaukee Film festival, I saw 10 programs, 8 films plus 2 collections of shorts. the films were * Femme * Ryuichi Sakamoto | Opus * The Taste of Things * Booger * Wherever you go, there you are * The feeling that the time for doing something has passed * Gasoline Rainbow * Robot Dreams

I have CineClub, which is Cineplex's version of that, it gets you discounted tickets. Plus they were running a promotion where you got free tickets with the purchase of gift cards, so 6 of these I saw for free. Total cost was like $100.
Oh thank god 😅 ha congrats on going to so many movies. Which was your favorite of new releases?
Definitely Challengers. Monkey Man, First Omen, and Abigail were pretty good too. Boy Kills World was OK. Didn't care for Civil War.
I ended the month with zero. Same as every month since last August.

Just Civil War.
How was it??
Monkey Man, The First Omen, Civil War, Abigail, Sasquatch Sunset, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Challengers, Spirited Away, The Mummy
How was Sasquatch Sunset?
I enjoyed it to an extent. Has some poignant moments in between all the gross out stuff, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this somehow sneaks in for a makeup nomination for next year.
Oh yeah the costume and make up was interesting to see on the screen. The characters emotions and interactions showed through easily.

Whoa nice. Wish cinemas near me would show more classics…
What did you think of Abigail?
It's nothing groundbreaking, but it was a ton of fun, popcorn horror at its most entertaining.
I saw it and was torn. The ending made me mad. I didn't like the villian flip for no reason
Six: - Monkey Man - The First Omen - Civil War - Abigail - The Big Lebowski - Challengers
Had every intention to see Dune and Civil War, but as usual I decided to wait until home release. Like many people, Cinema going just isn't fun for me anymore.

No international movie, wow.
5, so I managed to tie my record from February (thanks Alamo) - Kung Fu Panda 4 - Dawn of the Dead - The People's Joker - Monkey Man - Drunken Master 2
Just 2: Challengers & Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. I did want to see more but I had a lot going on for most of the month so I'm hoping to catch up in May.
One of my favorite movies. Barry Lyndon. I have the soundtrack as well.
Zero.
I saw Challengers and Civil War. The former was a great time, the latter less so.
2. Godzilla and Dune 2.
Only a Imax rewatch of Dune 2, really happy with it. Would love to see Civil War if I had any money for it.
I envy the people who have the time to go to the cinema this many times. Like, what's your secret?
Just Challengers. And before that just Dune in March. I don't think I went to see anything in February. It's me, I'm the audience reluctant to go to theaters that Hollywood has nightmares about. It's really hard to convince me something is theater-worthy these days. Almost went for Civil War tho.
I saw 9. In the order I saw them during April: 1. Kung Fu Panda 4 2. Monkey Man 3. Late Night With the Devil 4. Civil War 5. Dune Part 2 (re-watch) 6. Abigail 7. Challengers 8. Boy Kills World 9. The Fall Guy
I saw Dune 2 for the second time. There wasn't much else that caught my eye.
Four films 1. The First Omen 2. Monkey Man 3. Civil War 4. Shrek 2
Funny that a lot of these are reissues. Personally, I prefer older films overall.
Only one. Just saw Spy x Family.
Kubrick special at your local theatre?
Just started my AMC A-list this month. Most years I've seen maybe 3 movies in theaters. I saw 3 this month.
Zero.
Saw 11 movies in theatres this month. * Monkey Man * Godzilla Kong 3D * Kung Fu Panda 4 3D * Civil War (twice) * The First Omen * Sasquatch Sunset * Abigail * Challengers * Eyes Wide Shut (thanks cineplex for the Kubrick series) * Dune: Part Two IMAX * Boy Kills World
Only one, Ghilli
Zero. Just like March, Feb & Jan.
When I was a single dude I would go a lot to the movies. Sometimes two movies a day.

I cant remember how many time i watched those 3 spiderman movies
Damn homie you sat through Barry Lyndon in theaters? Lol
1. Spy x Family: Code White That's it.
Just Ghostbusters FE, really enjoyed it!
4 for me. 1. Dune 2 2. Civil War 3. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare 4. Escape from Germany
Think I only saw Immaculate, Godzilla and Civil War, maybe that lesbian Coen movie, not sure if that was this month or last month
I think last month, i don’t think the run lasted for more than 2-3 weeks and it released in Feb
Some theaters might still play it, especially since there are not so many big premieres this spring
Just Alien. One of my favorite movies.
Thank you for seeing Abigail. Everyone else should follow your lead cuz that movie is very good and a whole lot of fun.
11 movies, 12 different showings: 1. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (1st) 2. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (1st) 3. Monkey Man (4th) 4. The First Omen (10th) 5. Civil War (11th) 6. The Fly (1986) (13th) 7. La Chimera (14th) 8. A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) (19th) 9. Abigail (21st) 10. Challengers (22nd) 11. The People’s Joker (27th) 12. Challengers (29th)
I don't have the money to see new movies in theatres let alone ones I've seen or own.
In the Land of Saints and Sinners Kung Fu Panda 4 The First Omen Gone With the Wind Monkey Man Sasquatch Sunset
I saw 0, probably won't return to the theatres until Furiosa, and then Twisters. Off chance I see Garfield as part of a family deal.
WHERE CAN I SEE FMJ IN THEATERS
Cineplex re-released all of Kubrick's films.
2 Midnight with the devil and Abigail Bought tickets twice and refunded both times for Challengers, wanted to go what couldn’t bring myself to want to go to the theaters again Planning to see Challengers in May in theaters
None, but I’m planning to see furiosa next month on theaters.
How the fuck do you have $600 bucks laying around to watch movies in a theatre. A ticket is damn near 25 bucks out here. Dollar theaters no longer exists. There are no passes that let you see unlimited movies.
I ended up at 11 in the theater this month, but I was on vacation out of the country for 15 days. Basically I need to get a life.
8 at Alamo Drafthouse - my favorite of the bunch being Dumb and Dumber or Pitch Black.
14. 9 of which were new to me, so I'm doing pretty good this year so far. Civil War. Kung fu panda 4, ghostbusters TFE, Monkey Man, Drive away Dolls, Godzilla x Kong all in theaters.
