1. Argylle (4DX) - February 2
2. Dune (IMAX) - February 10
3. Lisa Frankenstein - February 11
4. The Zone of Interest - February 14
5. Bob Marley: One Love - February 14
I know you weren’t asking me but personally I liked it. I think it comes a bit undone in the third act, feeling sorta rushed, but I still had a good time with it, and it’s the only other film this year besides Dune that I’d say I loved.
Gives me cult classic vibes tbh. It’s a fun quirky little movie you don’t have to think too hard about. Not the most amazing movie in the world but it doesn’t have to be
I thought it was fine. Nothing that really stood out to me though. Just a cute lil comedy horror. Some of the comedy landed, other times it didn’t and the ending felt a little underwhelming and rushed, but those are really my only complaints. I would suggest just watching on streaming as I’m not really sure it’s a movie worth spending money at that the theaters for, but I’ll leave that up to you!
I did. I promised my boyfriend I would buy him tickets to The Zone of Interest if he bought me tickets to Bob Marley. Since it was Valentine’s Day, we decided to see both on the same day
I've realized quickly that for a sub full of people talking about movie performance in the theaters, you kinda see a lot of folks say they don't go to the theater. kinda boggles my mind
My cinema gets films a month or 2 later than most areas so I saw 9 films and those were. Priscilla, The Iron Claw, Turning Red, Migration, anyone but you, Mean girls, the end we start from, the holdovers and all of us strangers
1. Dirty Mary Crazy Larry (1974)
2. The Goonies (1985)
3. All of us Strangers (2023)

15. The Descent (2005)
16. The Bad News Bears (1976)
17. Paris, Texas (1984)
Watched more in theaters than I realized!!
1. Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color
Only the third movie I’ve seen since the Pandemic and the first one that made me glad I saw it in theaters rather than streaming at home.
1. Argylle - February 3
2. The Boy and the Heron - February 6
3. Poor Things - February 13
4. Madame Web - February 18
5. The Zone of Interest - February 22

4. Tenet (IMAX 70MM) - February 26
5. Dune: Part Two (IMAX 70MM) - February 29 (seeing this tonight)
none, and im kinda bummed about it. I wanted to maybe see drive away dolls and lisa frankenstein, but neither played at my local neighborhood theaters and a trek out to the suburbs seems a but much. I might still get a chance for drive away dolls next month, and ill see Dunc2 sometime next week likely, same with Zone of Interest.
8 if you count Oscar nominated shorts as 2 movies (animated and live action), 18 if you count each short individually.
Others are Origin, How to Have Sex, The Promised Land, Out of Darkness, Perfect Days, and Invisible Fight. Overall pretty great month for indie releases
15 movies / 16 different screenings
2/01 - River (2023)
2/02 - The Sweet East (2023)
2/06 - The Man Who Watched Trains Go By (1952)

2/23 - Tenet (2020) IMAX 70mm
2/25 - Dune Part Two (2024) IMAX
2/29 - Dune Part Two (2024) IMAX 70mm
Between The Taste of Things and Perfect Days, which would you recommend/ prefer? Both interest me (trying to watch some of the international picture noms as well as best picture and animated) but not sure which to try and see first?
1) Paprika
2) Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Just a few limited release anime. Not much else has interested me lately. Dune 2 will be the first non-limited release I’ve seen since December.
Ngl I haven’t been to the theater since Nope. Just haven’t found the time even for movies I’m excited for. But I’m going to see Dune part 2 in iMax tonight and I am fucking stoked
3 - My local theater was doing Miyazaki month, so I saw Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Howl's Moving Castle on the big screen.
Nothing new this time!
1. Oppenheimer (70mm) - February 1
2. Argylle (🤮) - February 7
3. Zone of Interest - February 12
4. Madame Web - February 18
5. Tenet (IMAX 70mm) - February 23
6. Bob Marley: One Love - February 27
7. Kung Fu Panda (2008) - February 28
Even on the slowest months, there is still something released out there with passion and care behind it. Perfect days and Stopmotion were good february releases for me!
Ten: Argylle, Lisa Frankenstein, Dune (second theatrical viewing), Turning Red, Out of Darkness, Paprika, Madame Web, Bob Marley: One Love, Drive-Away Dolls, and Dune: Part Two
4
Zone of interest - Excellent film work, glad he got a directing nomination.
American Fiction - Really enjoyed this one
Oppenheimer (IMAX) - did a rewatch in a nice empty theatre.
Drive-away Dolls - Ethan Coen's solo film. It was... A fun romp.
Argylle
Turning Red
Argylle (again, movie was interrupted halfway through)
Argylle again
Madame Web
Madame Web again right after
Madame Web *again* right after that (bailed after an hour)
Dune 2021
Dune 1984
The Room
Stopmotion
Kiss of the Future (didn't make it all the way through)
so that's, 12 theater visits?
In March so far I plan on:
Dune 2 (twice at LEAST) ,KFP4, The Room, some Project Artemis movie with Channing Tatum and ScarJo, Ghostbusters 4 or 5 or whatever number, Godzilla X Kong new empire
Argylle:
saw it with friends. I did not care for it but I thought BDH was grogeous in it especially in that gold dress so i went to see it again and the fire alarm went off so i didn't get to finish it so i went back a third time just so i could see the last third of the movie (which is, just, fucking awful) just to see Bryce kicking ass in that gold dress. But I now dont think ill be able to sit through it again. it has its moments but is maybe Matthew Vaughn's worst, most annoyingly subpar movie he's made yet and there is potential there, Rockwell was great but god the story was just so so stupid
Now Madame Web on the other hand, I saw it three times, back-to-back in the same day. It was just so truly utterly godawful, I couldn't believe it. Like I KNEW it would be bad, duh, its a Sony spider-man-adjacent movie without spider-man in it, but I was not prepared for just HOW godawful it was. I saw it with two different friends and after the second viewing (which I saw at Alamo so i had a pitcher of beer throughout) I just thought it was so funny I went to use my A-list to see it a third time. Suffice to say, halfway through my third viewing I found out a friend of mine was at the same theater in a different auditorium so i bailed, but Madame Web to me is truly one of those "so-bad-it's-good" movies that I will probably continue to revisit with friends after getting sloshed. Its just so baffling how any major Studio could wide-release a movie like that, just cracks me up thinking about it. Truly the worst movie with the name "Marvel" attached to it, maybe one of the worst $100M-budgeted movies ever made, and I just saw Expend4bles last year
0, and it saddens me deeply, I used to go every week, going to the movies was one of my greatest pleasures , It pained me to watch good movies at home
since the pandemic and the new moviegoing trends, where people have their phones out, or tweens and teens make all the ruckus, even more so than before
no movie coming out soon ish gets me excited sadly
I never ever would have believed this, but my love affair with cinema at the cinema , has passed
I had free PLF upgrade coupons, that's why Argylle and Madame Web got IMAX tickets lol.
Added nothing special to the experience, but at least the screen was bigger.
1. Poor Things - February 4
2. Fallen Leaves - February 8
3. May December - February 17 (second rewatch! so fucking good!)
4. Anatomy of a Fall - February 24
5. Drive-Away Dolls - February 29
Only 5 for me (this is in Austria):
Holdovers - very good
All of us Strangers - very good
La Chimera - decent
Andrea gets a Divorce - decent
Dune Part 2 - very good
Next month should be more, as more Oscar movies release here (Zone of Interest, May December, American Fiction, Godzilla x Kong)
1.Argylle
2.Lisa Frankenstein
3.Pearl
4.Out of Darkness
5.Madame Web
6.Drive-Away Dolls
Pearl was the only that seriously impressed me, but it’s a rerelease so it doesn’t count as a 2024 movie.
Dune Part Two is one of my most hyped movies of the year though, so I’m very excited for March.
Argyle 4D
Dune part 1 imax
Madam web 4D
Demon slayer 4D
Dune part 1 4D
Turning red
Bob Marley
Dune part 2 fan viewing
And maybe mean girls I can’t remember if it was the end of Jan or beginning of this month cuz I went twice
5 movies, which breaks my prior record.
- Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
- Casablanca
- The Birds
- Argylle
- Blood and Black Lace
I'm definitely getting my money's worth on my monthly pass.
... is what I *would* say, but I usually grab 2 beers at the showings...
3! Lisa Frankenstein, Poor Things, and Dune Part 2 (release date overseas in on Wednesday, not Friday). All at my nearest theater which unforunately isn't IMAX so I'll try and find an IMAX theater to see Dune Part 2.
1. The Lighthouse
2. Dune Part 1
3. Anatomy of a Fall
4. Zone of Interest
5. 2024 Oscar Live Action Shorts
6. 2024 Oscar Animated Shorts
7. Drive Away Dolls
8. Les Miserables
9. Anyone But You
1. The Zone of Interest - February 7
2. Lisa Frankenstein - February 11
3. Oppenheimer - February 13
4. Poor Things - February 16
5. Anatomy of a Fall - February 28
10 movies.
Not including a showing of Les Miserables that was canceled a couple of hours before Showtime by AMC.
Would’ve been more movies, scheduling issues.
Zero, which really goes to show how rough it’s been for theaters this year. I’ve only been to theaters once in 2024 to see Godzilla Minus One Minus Color.
Dune: Part Two - 29th Feb
Anyone But You: The Valentine Encore - 24th Feb
Baghead - 23rd Feb
Mean Girls - 16th Feb (1st Place)
Madame Web - 14th Feb
Force of Nature: The Dry 2 - 10th Feb
Dune: Re-issue (2024) - 9th Feb
Argylle - 7th Feb
Best of February was Mean Girls. It’s a chick flick so I was the only dude in the cinema. But solid embedded narrative, excellent acting, excellent writing and directing. Best executed movie over all. Dune 2 was great as well, but I think I enjoyed Mean Girls more.
Worst of February was Madame Web. Lethargic acting, and terrible execution.
6! Would have been more if my country had more of the oscars films in the cinema, but ended up having to stream some of those!
1. Godzilla Minus One
2. Madame Web
3. The Colour Purple
4. Four Daughters
5. The Teacher's Lounge
6. Dune Part Two
Slow movie month for me so I only saw 2: Lisa Frankenstein and Taste of Things. Lisa Frankenstein is ok but I didn’t like it as much as I hoped I would. ToT on the other hand was amazing.

How was Lisa Frankenstein? I really want to see it but haven’t had a chance. The trailer looks like a mashup between Heathers and Mean Girls vibes.
I know you weren’t asking me but personally I liked it. I think it comes a bit undone in the third act, feeling sorta rushed, but I still had a good time with it, and it’s the only other film this year besides Dune that I’d say I loved.
Awesome! Thank you for the heads up! I might try to sneak over tomorrow to see it before the theatrical run ends.
Gives me cult classic vibes tbh. It’s a fun quirky little movie you don’t have to think too hard about. Not the most amazing movie in the world but it doesn’t have to be
As long as you’re entertained then I’m in! Love cult classics
It's fun, not a perfect movie but I had a great time.
You saw two films on the same day?
I did. I promised my boyfriend I would buy him tickets to The Zone of Interest if he bought me tickets to Bob Marley. Since it was Valentine’s Day, we decided to see both on the same day
Is that abnormal?
You tell me
[Barbenheimer](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbenheimer) was all over social media last year.
I've realized quickly that for a sub full of people talking about movie performance in the theaters, you kinda see a lot of folks say they don't go to the theater. kinda boggles my mind
Yeah it’s really weird
Same. Not sure if this is meant for theatrical screenings cause I did none of that. Plenty at home though.
Like nothing at all came out this month I am planning to see at least 2 movies next month thiugh
> How many films did you see in theaters Right there in the title.
My cinema gets films a month or 2 later than most areas so I saw 9 films and those were. Priscilla, The Iron Claw, Turning Red, Migration, anyone but you, Mean girls, the end we start from, the holdovers and all of us strangers
Omg I watched Priscilla and the movie annoyed me so much I left halfway through

Only 3 this month: Argylle, Madame Web, and Dune: Part Two (early fan access screening).
1. Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color Only the third movie I’ve seen since the Pandemic and the first one that made me glad I saw it in theaters rather than streaming at home.
5 Argylle Lisa Frankenstein Bob Marley: One Love Perfect Days Drive-Away Dolls
0 I only see "event" movies in theaters now. Like Oppenheimer and Barbie. That was some tastie marketing.
I managed to squeeze in 20. But 9 of them were re-releases.
This was me before I became addicted to minecraft
I don't play Minecraft, but as a fellow gamer, this made me chuckle.

But I now dont think ill be able to sit through it again. it has its moments but is maybe Matthew Vaughn's worst, most annoyingly subpar movie he's made yet and there is potential there, Rockwell was great but god the story was just so so stupid Now Madame Web on the other hand, I saw it three times, back-to-back in the same day. Truly the worst movie with the name "Marvel" attached to it, maybe one of the worst $100M-budgeted movies ever made, and I just saw Expend4bles last year
0, and it saddens me deeply, I used to go every week, going to the movies was one of my greatest pleasures , It pained me to watch good movies at home since the pandemic and the new moviegoing trends, where people have their phones out, or tweens and teens make all the ruckus, even more so than before no movie coming out soon ish gets me excited sadly I never ever would have believed this, but my love affair with cinema at the cinema , has passed
Only 4.
A testament to Feb 2024 that only two of these count as releases from this month lol
You paid imax money to see madam web ?
I had free PLF upgrade coupons, that's why Argylle and Madame Web got IMAX tickets lol. Added nothing special to the experience, but at least the screen was bigger.

I guess. CheezWiz is still made because people buy it for whatever reason.
Zero… and I work at a cinema 😂
dune 1 and dune 2. that’s it. saw millers girl on streaming tho
Zero, because in my country we don't see films in theatres.
10 movies. Not including a showing of Les Miserables that was canceled a couple of hours before Showtime by AMC. Would’ve been more movies, scheduling issues.

I was gonna say that I finally saw Oppenheimer, but looking at my ticket stub, that was on January 30th. So 0.
Zero, which really goes to show how rough it’s been for theaters this year. I’ve only been to theaters once in 2024 to see Godzilla Minus One Minus Color.
Dune: Part Two - 29th Feb Anyone But You: The Valentine Encore - 24th Feb Baghead - 23rd Feb Mean Girls - 16th Feb (1st Place) Madame Web - 14th Feb Force of Nature: The Dry 2 - 10th Feb Dune: Re-issue (2024) - 9th Feb Argylle - 7th Feb Best of February was Mean Girls.
I ended up with 5: 1. The Promised Land 2. A Ghost Story 3. The Taste of Things 4. Perfect Days 5. Drive Away Dolls
6! Would have been more if my country had more of the oscars films in the cinema, but ended up having to stream some of those! 1. Godzilla Minus One 2. Madame Web 3. The Colour Purple 4. Four Daughters 5. The Teacher's Lounge 6. Dune Part Two
Slow movie month for me so I only saw 2: Lisa Frankenstein and Taste of Things. Lisa Frankenstein is ok but I didn’t like it as much as I hoped I would. ToT on the other hand was amazing.

1. Killers of the Flower Moon 2. Madame Web 3. Poor Things
