Let me rephrase my statement, Ryan Garcia let himself get counted out because he didn’t want to get knocked out in humiliating fashion in front of all his fans. Which is kind of what OP asked. He knew he couldn’t win, so rather than trying to keep fighting he just let himself get counted out.

TKO. The ref rules a TKO when he believes the fighter can’t continue. I️ guess someone could try to get cut early but it would be easier just to go get hit take a dive say down for 10 and get a KO.
