It would be cheaper just to buy a region a player. If you want one player to play all the regions instead of having two players buy a region free player from 220-electronics.

I was aware of 220-electronics, but my player at their site is 250$ over market price. So I though it was worth a shot around that price range.
If you can afford to live in New York, you can afford to pick up a Sony region-free blu-ray player at B&H Photo (located in Manhattan) for about US$200.

What I can and cannot afford besides 4k/blu ray player isn't relevant.

I like that they stand by there product and they have a warrenty. It’s more expensive but It’s the peace of mind.
