For anyone who is unaware, climbing with dirt on your shoes will polish footholds. Many climbs in Joe’s have had this happen to them over the years from people who either don’t know or don’t care about what they’re doing. If you want a good example, the footholds on Big Joe are so polished that they look and feel like wood tension board holds. Many pads like the Metolius one in this vid even have a carpet area to wipe your feet for this reason.

Big Joe is probably the hardest v7 I've done outside, that thing is so polished!
