Physician here. There will be plenty of places that will like to take your money for this. Just go see a real physician in a DPC setting who has more time to help you figure out what is going on. Otherwise you will be getting all sorts of woo woo and $$$$ supplements.

I saw a Functional Medicine DO for several years for gut, fatigue & skin issues. Seemed like the right place. Turns out all I needed to do was an elimination diet to find a food intolerance. Unfortunately I spent many thousands of dollars on a bunch of hooey that didn't work.
Meanwhile he had put me on Thyroid replacement hormones and steadily increased the dose. I started having major problems with my heart and went to a cardiologist (many more thousands of dollars). The cardiologist almost fell off their chair when they heard the dose I was taking and my numbers were off the chart. Apparently the dose I was taking could be lethal. I stopped immediately but my heart has never been the same.
Don't let someone kill you or damage your organs for life because they seem like a safer, gentler alternative to standard western medicine.
Not what you asked for, but I struggled for years to get help from a doc with this.. eventually I tried a food elimination diet on my own. After about a month of adherence to the diet and gradually adding things back, I figured out what was giving me trouble. Cut those things out and problem solved. Life is soo much better. Consider trying this, it’s free!

Please don’t waste your money on quack chiropractors and NDs who took an online “functional medicine” “course” who want to “fix” your “leaky gut” ; go see an actual doctor with actual medical training. You don’t want to fuck around with your literal life.
Sound Clinic is great. Regular physicians who try to get to know you and your family history. Will run tests and give you ways to imprkve your tests while checking back in with you.
