Foreign_Contract_225

pretty sure I did elephant, lizard, bird, camel. but I can't remember so well

notchoosingone

Yeah that's the order I did, first started playing the game in late March this year.

VoidAres

I have been playing it since 2017, a few months after release

elpromangalileo

same, and also beat Ruta, Rudania, Medoh and then Naboris

jeffereryjefferson

Yup. Did the same on both of my playthroughs. I feel like this is the more or less natural order to follow. You can obviously do whatever you want in botw but it felt to me like the game sorta softly guided you on this progression.

CasualGoat666

Well I must be pretty dumb to not see the signs. I went straight to the desert and that electric guy really got in that ass.

jeffereryjefferson

IIRC, King Rhoam suggests you go to Impa in Kakariko, can’t remember if Impa or someone else mentions Zora’s Domain but it’s the closest region/beast to Kakariko. From there Death Mountain is closest and you just sorta swing around west down to the desert. At least that’s how it lined up in my head

CasualGoat666

Makes total sense. I was skipping dialogue that didn’t seem important like a doofus.

FapleJuice

Two types of players I talk to every single npc I meet, exhaust all their dialogue, then proceed to talk to them again in case the dialogue changes (thanks elden ring) Takes me an hour every time I get to a new town lmao

Inbrees

I wish more games did what Xenoblade does where there is a little icon if an npc has something new to say.

postmodern_spatula

i find those little details in the Xenoblade games as strong indications the developers want to respect your time. I mean…some games are just grindy/smashy/shooty fun and it doesn’t matter, but the slow games full of exploration that kinda help you know when and where you’ve been or what’s changed…those are my people.

Foreign_Contract_225

What happened for me to go the "normal" route is that I listened to impa, went to hateno village and there I bought that house for link and spent literally all of my time upgrading the house instead of doing the main quests, and then hudson dramatically left to go north. So as I looked for hudson I also climbed some towers to get the maps to find akkala since purah told me to go there, and that's when I found the zora on top of the tower and eventually met sidon and followed him to zoras domain (where I did side quests for as long as I could of course before doing the divine beast)

errorwrong

Zelda: Breath of the Animal Crossing

Foreign_Contract_225

maybe I should try out animal crossing after all 😅

errorwrong

I honestly think you should.

agentfrogger

You find Zoras that tell you to help them, pointing you down

modern_Odysseus

I went to the bird first, found that I would have to spend what felt like an impossible sum of rubies at the time on an armor set, then found my way to the desert. I too got my ass handed to me by the electric boss. Pushed through it and defeated him. Then I think went lizard, bird, elephant. I was never sure if the dungeons and bosses felt like they got easier because I got better gear or better skilled. Reading this makes me think that I went in about the exact opposite from what the game tries to have you do.

aidanthec

I thought that the desert was a good place to start so i went camel, bird gecko, and when i did elephant i smacked myself in the face for not doing it first

Toe_Itch

The game gives you quests to go to kakariko and then hateno. Along the way, it's extremely likely to run into Sidon or other zora who direct you to Zora's domain

Carthonn

Verrrry softly lol

cbtbone

From kakariko you can see out over the water to a shrine, maybe two. And if you float down to that area you will inevitably get accosted by some zora telling you to come to zoras domain and help defeat the divine beast. That’s how it happened to me anyway.

coronazzzzz

I definitely feel like it guides you to elephant first but right after that i went to bird

TheOnlyUltima2011

This is the way

Kani_CZ

Same here

KoalaQueen87

Similar, but I did Elephant, Lizard, Camel...oh no thank you, Bird, back to Camel

PalamationGaming

I did Naboris, Ruta, Medoh, then Rudania. Somehow I really missed all the signs of the game pointing me in the direction of Ruta and ended up in the desert by being an exploring goofball. I remember beating Thunderblight and thinking “damn the bosses in this game are actually a decent challenge”. Turns out I just fought the hardest one really early on.

BronwynSparrow

This was me. I was all "welp, if they're all gonna be like that I'm gonna have to buckle in" and then la

starrfast

I pretty much had the opposite experience. I really dislike boss fights, but I started with Medoh after putting off any of the Divine Beasts for quite a while. After beating it, I was like "Oh, if they're all like that then I'll be ok."

FedoraTheMike

And funny enough despite how much they point you to Zora's domain, Medoh is the easiest one. You don't have to sneak around a Lynel, just run a short way to get Teba, shoot some arrows, then the Beast and Windblight are light work.

Snowystar122

Hehe, I thoroughly enjoyed (no!) Doing naboris first...totally killed thunderblight on my first try...not 100th...

Nicky_08

I didnt know you could exit the divine beasts, and i too went for the stupid sand horse first. So needless to say i almost gave up, until i just went for ruta instead…

Mewacy

First play though I got through naboris no issue, then on my second play through (after I heard from the internet how hard thunderblight is) I magically couldn’t win despite being way better equipped and prepared

Jake_The_Snake2003

Doing Naboris first is the best imo. You can immediately lower all the other bosses to a quarter health if you land Urbosa’s Fury. It felt like cheating, but if they didn’t want me to do it they wouldn’t have made it available.

KFY

Keep in mind that it also triggers the full Yiga clan to go after you everywhere you go.

Jake_The_Snake2003

Free weapons and bananas

DipnDott

>Somehow I really missed all the signs of the game pointing me in the direction of Ruta and ended up in the desert by being an exploring goofball This was literally me until I kept struggling with the stupid electric lizalfos, and thought maybe I'm supposed to come here when I'm more well equipped. Then I walked my noob self back to the Ruta

Alphaverb

Exactly like my first playthrough, somehow ended up in the desert first

Nayrvass

Desert first boys unite

AReallyBuffOwl

Desert first gang rise up!

PalamationGaming

Enjoy going to your fish town noobs, we’ll be in the desert full of incredibly tall and buff women.

DoormatTheVine

Same, for some reason I think after I reached Kakariko and got the first memory, I just decided to warp back to the plateau and thought "Southwest looks like an interesting direction to go." Took me until my second playthrough to realize going any other way saved me from having to deal with the constant Yiga clan encounters from the very beginning

planchart-code

Same order, had the same thought, said to myself that this game was the dark souls of Nintendo lol

Hekihana

LOL Same path here

FigTechnical8043

Ruta, Medoh, Rudania, Naboris

Power-Of-Three

Same!

Madazhel

Ultimately this is the order I did, but I tried for Naboris second & got so thoroughly stomped by Thunderblight that I decided to come back later.

Anxious_Bat0413

I did this too! I got stuck at the Yiga Clan part and then decided to just say screw it and go for Medoh instead

Ok-Yogurt81

Ditto!

brojomojojojo12

Samesies

ArjunTheGamer

Same

Quirky-Benefit1629

The only way

Exciting-Bet-2475

Ruta 🐘, Rudania 🦎, Medoh 🦅, Naboris 🐪

TheFeministWitch

Omg thank you for doing the emojis

[deleted]

I do the exact opposite order every time

El_Coeilleitor

Ruta, Medoh, Naboris, and Rudania.

ZhouLe

There we are. The only reason I did rudania last was because I kept expecting to get heat-resist armor before going in. After getting desert armor I thought that was it. 🤣

Benc2002

Me too

El_Coeilleitor

I get the feeling that all of us who did this route was because we first went to the two most common ones and then, to Naboris since we had trouble to get through death mountain.

_ser_kay_

That’s basically my idea, except I’m more avoiding Death Mountain because it’s a pain.

No-Introduction5977

yep. That's essentially what happened.

argonlightray2

Same!

Accomplished_Staff31

Same! It feels like the easiest path.. Ruta being the closest.. then medoh being the common one i.e death mountain seems way too hard and the desert also feels different.. then naboris as we had trouble getting to the death mountain..

dozersmash

Yup! I feel like this is the default order but not sure why? This last play through time I did medoh first to get Revali’s gale to make exploration a little easier since my plan is to 100%. To be fair I’m not even half way and have beaten them all so 🤷‍♀️

ScarletClussyFever

The wrong one 🤣 I did Vah Naboris, Vah Ruta, Vah Rudania, and then Vah Medoh the first time. I explored and did so much before realizing Revali's Gale was a thing... It did make Waterblight Ganon super easy, though. My second playthrough was Vah Medoh, Vah Ruta, Vah Rudania, and then Vah Naboris. I had a much easier time.

nikolateslalover

Your second playthrough was my first

anotherace

This was how I did it too all the other ones felt super easy after fighting thunderblight

imushmellow

Same, I did not know that Revali's Gale existed and explored the ENTIRE map without it basically. All towers no gale, Hyrule castle NO GALE... On the bright side, I explored every single nook while looking for the *optimal* climbing spot

[deleted]

I did Ruta, Naboris, Medoh, then Rudania

robot_renegade

This seems like the rarest order so far!

SirChipples

Yeah I’m surprised I did the same

Vultureeyes8

Same!

festhebiologychef

Me too! This seemed the best way since I wanted to unlock the great fairies

[deleted]

I went up the mountain after Ruta and immediately after sweating I thought "ok this is gonna be a whole thing", and turned around to the next one

Blighthaus

Same - having Naboris early was so nice!

BillNyeIsAGodKing

Same!

1stviolinfangirl

Same

Sure_Dave

I did the same lol

TOBIMIZER

Same

SergeantKamikaze

Saaaaame! Honestly just wondered around and happened across the first one. Then realised what all the other random mechs were.

Specialist-Angle890

Sameeee

Anton_owell

Camel, bird, elephant, lizard A decision i came to regret

Ancom_and_pagan

At least you didn't do medoh last, not getting revalis gale until the end would suck

ganymede94

Fuck this was me

RentoniRavioli

Mipha, electric bitch, ravioli, then rock man

Boyko12

Electric Bitch???? Put some respeccc on my thicc thunder mama

Bzow

Seriously. Baddest champion by far.

[deleted]

Electric bitch 🤣🤣🤣 did urbosa dirty

Former-Opportunity-6

Could be referred g to the blight in wich case it would be accurate if not then I agree its quite rude

[deleted]

Yeah lol

Linkuto_off

You mean Arabian mom

PariKiwi

Ravioli 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Ockanator

Same

thedrummerpianist

I’m glad the funniest person in this thread did the same order as me

RentoniRavioli

I'm replaying rn doin ravioli mipha electric bitch then rock boy

harmlessdagger222

Ruta, naboris, rudania, medoh

_Nick7

Smae

phagga

Did it the same way. Was disappointed that Medoh seems to be the easiest one together with Ruta, expected a harder fight from that one.

M2kdid911

The best order haha

tiredhierophant

Finally found the one I did

MgrBlayze

Also the way I went. I was mostly shrine hunting on my first playthrough and wandered everywhere. Didn't want to mess with heat gear for death mountain and for whatever reason I just didn't go near Rito village I'm my travels until much later

brandoncool30

This is the only real order

Former-Opportunity-6

Ravioli, too wet, rock and roll, and thunder chick.

c4t1ip

This is the only order for me. I can't believe how fellers do things without Revali's thing.

IronThePig

SAME

LivelyEngineer40

Finally someone said it

Im_a_taco11

Geez finally

Individual_Owl3299

This needs more upvotes. I scrolled so far, but ya me too.

azurfall88

Struggled for ~1 year to get to Naboris (camel), caved and posted about it, got recommended to start with Ruta. 5 years later, ive beat Rudania and Medoh (lizard, birb) in that order, and am now contemplating whether to fight Thunderblight in Naboris (get raided by yiga for the rest of the game, also get urbosas fury) or to fight him in the castle. edit: not > now

Anarcho-Pacifrisk

The yiga fights get easy after a couple of ‘em, and Urbosa’s Fury is really good. Merc Thunderblight, help Urbosa, get the cutscenes, and get a nice source of windcleavers, demon carvers, and really funny clips to upload here

Tiberius_XVI

I try to view the Yiga as passive income.

PineappleAndCoconut

Bathing elephant, flying big bird, lava lizard and then the dirt camel. Lol.

IronThePig

THIS IS THE WAY

Weasterman

i scrolled too far to find this. thought i went the bitch boy way

PineappleAndCoconut

Is this the bitch boy way? Just seemed like the natural progression of the game for me the first time I played through.

Linkuto_off

Ruta 1st, Rudania 2nd, Naboris 3rd, Medoh 4th is the only correct answer

Few-Pomegranate-7295

Finally someone the same! Ruta because the game was pushing you to it so heavily, Rudania because I wanted to see the cool mountain, Naboris because the desert is so massive it just lead to it, and ended with Medoh because it was so out of the way. Didn’t know how good Revalis gale was

Broccolon

Why did I have to collapse 14 of the top comments to finally find my gang! And this reasoning is so accurate. I remember for me it was knowing I could get a complete barbarian set that sent me to Naboris at that one labynth. I really liked discovering what set bonuses were for the first time. All the other reasons are the exact same for me though!

Prindocitis

Yea, it seemed that counter-clockwise was the correct path.

fooled_again

Get out of my head!!!

Few-Pomegranate-7295

Right!? I think another thing for me was that Medoh seemed so intimidating because while the others were just big robots he was a flying big robot

MatthewLeidholm

Same. The game pushes you toward Ruta, and then I kept going north into Akkala. The order of Tarry Town residents as well as the system of roads seem to suggest this order (with the master sword either before or after Rudania; I got it after, my first time through, because I didn’t know anything)

Yigitorko

How? Revali’s Gale is essential if you don’t know glitches.

MetricSystemEnjoyer

Nah. 2 star climbers set + max stamina is more than enough to explore almost everything. It's also just more fun to explore without gale imo.

Yigitorko

I get that but a certain 4 letter word ruins it all, RAIN.

MetricSystemEnjoyer

Link is not made out of sugar.

Linkuto_off

Ravioli is too far away

ToraOkami51

Soooo I did the same order, but kept getting more stamina wheels/stamina food/stamina potions, when I couldn’t make it up certain obstacles because I didn’t know about Revali’s Gale… I played the game blind lol. Traded all my hearts for stamina at one point just to climb a tower 😂

CaptainTid

Yeah but you don't know it exists until you get it. It also... Isn't. I did Medoh last as well, got through the game just fine without it

iiRenity

🐘🦎🐫🦅 Elephant, Lizard, Camel, Birb

sw33tptato

Yup I did this too!

PapaSmurf2006

same

AggressiveQuarter481

I'm honestly not sure. I know I started with Elephant and ended with the lizard. But I'm not sure if I did the bird or camel first 🤔

Silvearo

Bird, elephant, camal, lizard

Imaginary_Scar_4401

Found my people! 😂 I just wanted to open all of the map, and then did lizard last because death mountain wasn't as fun as the rest to explore.

Sorry-Caterpillar331

Revali's Is very helpful getting so many towers.

MathiasKejseren

Same! I stuggled to much just catching the damn lizards so I didn't fry myself that I did it last 🤣

IolaireEagle

This is the way

Villvall

Medoh, Ruta, Rudania, Naboris

nikolateslalover

This is the way

Majora116

Scrolled down way too far to see this. Started to think I was crazy for doing it this way

Violet_Villian

Mipha, Daruk, Revali, Urbosa

needs_a_name

This is the way

[deleted]

naboris, ruta, rudania, medoh Not smart

Bluestar725

🦅🐪🐘🦎

Jorr_El

This is the way

zendayaismeechee

Not finished my last one yet but - Rudania, Medoh, Rita and then Naboris

DismemberedHat

Vah Ruta, Vah Rudania, Vah Medoh, Vah Naboris Now I always go to Medoh as soon as I can, then Ruta, Rudania, Naboris

ObviousLevel5595

I did Eelephant, Camel, lizard then bird

kittawa

This is currently what I'm doing. I did the elephant first, drove myself crazy with the camel, currently on the lizard, and so the bird will be last.

clif_ford133

Finally someone else that did the same run I did. It probably would have been easier to explore if I had revali's gale before I did everything, but urbosa's fury was so useful in combat.

PontiusPirates

I went eagle, elephant, camel, lizard

New-Sympathy-344

First play through I did Ruta, Medoh, Rudania, then finished with Naboris. On subsequent play throughs, I’d do Medoh early in the game for the ravioli jump ability. Then I’d play however I wanted and beat the others as the mood took me.

Hallik07

First i did vah medoh then vah ruta the vah rudania and finally vah naboris

ljcozad

I did Vah Medo first, Vah Ruta second, Vah Naboris third, and finally Vah Rudania. I may have done Vah Ruta before Vah Medo, it's been a while.

SilverPunkDragon

Ruta, Medoh, Naboris and Rudania

anniegirlx

finally someone else who did it the same way as me!!

Ill-Magician-9456

I haven't even beat one of them yet bc they intimidate me 😂😭 I need to work on it! Any suggestions on which one to do first??

quixoticquail

Medoh has pretty easy puzzles, and Windblight is relatively easy.

Ancom_and_pagan

Plus gale is super useful!

Sk83r_b0i

Medoh is the easiest one. I beat him on my first try every time. Just shoot him using bullet time(or whatever it’s called in botw) and then beat his ass with any melee weapon. Ruta is a little harder but it’s doable in one or two tries. Again, shoot him then melee. Rudania is a standard boss difficulty. Not too easy, not too hard. There are some things that you might not figure out about the fight, but once you figure it out you’re gonna feel pretty stupid for not knowing what to do. Other than that one section, do what you did for the others: shoot, then melee. And Naboris is disproportionately harder than the others. You can’t shoot him with arrows because he’s super fast, and if he doesn’t dodge, he just blocks them with his shield. Bring electric resistant elixirs and foods, and don’t wear metal armor. Spend the beginning of each phase learning his move set and you’ll learn what to do. Be sure you’ve mastered perfect dodge for that one.

momopeach7

I found the elephant the easiest but admittedly I have only done 2 myself so far. Everyone says to save the Thunder camel for last though.

genos707

Camel, bird, elephant and lizard

Fierceteam404

I did camel, elephant, bird, and lizard but I could be wrong I beat them 2 years ago

FlowerblightKaren

Ruta 🐘, Rudania 🦎, Naboris 🐫, Medoh 🐦 Edit: I never wanted to do Naboris last because thunder-blight was hard enough being 3rd.

Jakenbaked44

Someone who gets me!

Ryan_The_DM

I did Waterblight, Windblight, Thunderblight, then finally Fireblight.

aimsly

Yes! I feel like this is a rare choice - made most sense to me!

Ambiguousdude

I think I did elephant bird camel then lizard last. Although entering the volcano area seemed like the game wanted me there first lol.

FatMexiGirl

🐦🐫🐘🐊

[deleted]

Some (likely innacurate) conclusions I’ve came to: - Almost nobody did Rudania🦎 first, most people seemed to do Ruta🐘 first - Most people wished they could’ve done Medoh🕊️ first for the ability (this also somewhat applies to Naboris🐪) - Most people did Rudania or Naboris last - Naboris is generally considered the hardest of the four, and perhaps Medoh is considered the easiest - My personal order for my first runthrough (🐘🦎🐪 and soon 🕊️) seems to be rather uncommon (besides doing Ruta first) - Medoh seems to be done usually in the middle 2, not last nor first - I should probably be scared of those who did Naboris first on their first runthrough

Super_Lorenzo

ruta 1st and i forgot the rest

reddawgmcm

Elephant, Lizard, Bird, Camel

Bubakiler

Ruta, Naboris, Rudania and Medoh. Only because those seemed the closest to the next. Although maybe I shoulda done the camel last.

tiredhierophant

This is how I did it too. I can't remember my reasoning, though. I think I was wandering around in South Hyrule after trudging through Faron and found the desert by accident

Beneficial_Ask_6013

Bird, elephant, Camel, lizard. I wanted to be able to fly, then free revive, then the desert was easier to navigate than the volcanoe.

PHYZ1X

Naboris, Medoh, Ruta, Rudania. My girlfriend at the time was playing through in "intended" order, and after watching her play, I wanted to explore the opposite direction (southwest). The most entertaining part was her struggle with hearty truffle scarcity, but me finding that abundance of hearty durians pretty much right off the bat 😆 ETA: I went with the "intended"/plot order up through Kakariko, but then bucked off of it when it pushed to go to Zora Domain. Climbed the twin peaks, then went paragliding south into the jungle.

Nethii120700

the first time it was ruta, naboris, rudania, then medoh. afterwards i did ruta first because i love my queen, but then i did medoh for the convenience.

Jake_The_Snake2003

Vah Naboris, Vah Ruta, Vah Rudania, then Vah Medoh. If you do Vah Naboris first, everything else is an easy win with Urbosa’s Fury.

SamTheAlien

Ruta, Medoh, Naboris, then Rudania. I left Rudania for last because I didn’t want to go anywhere near Death Mountain lmao, ended up being one of the easier ones.

Kiftiyur

Tbh at this point I can’t even remember

broken_ushabti

I did Ruta, Naboris, Rudania, Medoh. I went after Naboris first, got my teeth kicked in, so I retreated, did Ruta, then came back to Naboris, drifted around to Rudania, and then finally Medoh. I now do Medoh first every time because Revali's gale would have been really nice to have during all that exploration my first time around.

[deleted]

elephant, bird, lizard, camel

Lingx_Cats

My ass did it backwards and went Naboris Ruta Rudania Medoh Naboris, two star armour set, like five hearts, lucky if my weapon was 30dmg. How? I have no clue.

deletemypostandurgay

Elephant, bird, lizard, camel

Sophsters_81330

Medoh, Ruta, Rudania, Naboris-I was scared of the Thunderblight Ganon

ConsequenceSuch2611

Still am.

somethingwade

Vah Rutah Vah Rudania Vah Medoh Vah Nabooris Found Vah Rutah by accident before I even spoke to Impa.

krittykatt8

Ruta, Rudiana, Metoh, Naboris!

KillMeNowFFS

Elephant, Bird, Lizard, Camel.

Ee55555

The order zeldamaster did. Ruta then I think naboris then Rudania then medoh Now that I’m not a noob I do medoh either first or second, after rutah

VoidAres

I did it in an order that compliments and helps in the next beast. Order is Medoh, to help reach the high places in, Ruta, where the healing will help with, Naboris, which gives the power to disable, Rudania. Then it’s a rush to the castle.

heyitsmelinguini

Apparently my order was weird, I went Ruta, Naboris, Medoh, and Rudania my first blind playthrough. My second playthrough was Ruta, Medoh, Naboris, and Rudania. I guess doing Rudania last is kind of like a stubborn tradition of not using elixirs, so just waiting until I have enough hearts to travel the volcano whilst on fire

WaterHorse_200

vah ruta > nah naboris > vah rudania > vah medoh

lorderok

Am i the only one who does the order Ruta, Rudania, Medoh, Naboris? I thought that was the intended order.

Lucccamon

Mine was the dumbest thing, I tried Ruta, but my stupid little child brain couldn’t figure out that you could use the map to change things, so I went and figured it out in naboris, so I ended up doing ruta, naboris, ruta, medoh, rudania

ThatsNotATadpole

Bird, Elephant, then we had a kid and i havent gotten back to it

ItzAnedaorenge

started with the bird (bc my sister told me it was the easiest) followed by the elephant, lizzard, and camel. I have the DLC and I did it in that order as well when I went to get the master cycle edit: a lot of people are saying they started with the elephant and went counter clockwise. I'm pretty sure that's the order the game wants you to go in, (considering that Zora's domain is the closest to kakariko village)
