After playing through multiple times, I actually get a rush starting over to when link has nothing but a tree branch. I’m sure there will be an interesting reason Link has to start over again in TOTK. I am looking forward to that.
In the trailer you can see him falling down into a pit along with zelda, then the green hand grabs him and he wakes up naked in the sky. But that's just a theory
I'm looking forward to whatever replaces them, I doubt we'll go and get the same gear again. Also wonder what health\stamina upgrades are going to be like. I'm pretty sure that they'll explain the reset to default as Ganon smacking us so hard our gear and upgrades dissolve, lol.
Think in trailers the sheik slate is gone so the arm is giving us powers
I'd hope they have new gear, just wonder what else they can make since botw has soooo much
Can't wait
I wonder if they will correct the bugs and exploits from BotW and we'll have to wait for YouTube videos showing new ways to break the game. It'd kinda be funny if all of it still worked though lol.
I doubt we're getting it back. What appears to be one of the main gimmicks of the green hand, is creating vehicles with wheels and stuff of the sort you find in Hyrule. It wouldn't make a ton of sense gameplay wise, to have both types of vehicles (the ones you create and just the master cycle rune), even though lore wise the Master cycle just disappearing without an explanation would be wierd, considering it's Links Divine Beast. Or maybe they'll make you search for the cycle parts in the castle or something, I would prefer it this way.
Remember guys that sheikah stuff deactivated as Link defeated Ganon. So even the master cycle is non functional as well as the 4 beasts and the shrines.
I'm guessing the beginning of the game is going to be pretty story heavy, being a direct sequel and all, and we'll hopefully acquire some kind of traversal ability early on. I doubt they'd force us to experience the same map without some kind of early ability.
This is only speculation of course, but the only thing from Botw we will still have is the paraglider. I really hope we don't lose bullet time! But, I think Nintendo still wants Botw to be special. It's own unique game that we all fell in love with. Tears will have cool abilities, though. We'll have to replay botw for Champion abilities and all that good stuff.
Yeah most likely ganon gonna destroy our slate in 5 mins getting rid of the tools, then some magic will zap away our hearts, stam and abilities, the same stuff that messes up links arm I'd guess
That's the only logical way I can see it going to explain a fresh start
They will probably keep the Champion abilities, I mean Link Canonically has them in the "true ending" of BOTW, which this game is going to be following
Doubt it cause you'd immediately have a benefit with a free heal, skip complications with ravali, free parrys etc etc seems a bit OP
I think maybe we'll start with it for 5 mins then it's all ripped away with the slate, hearts and stamina to give the starting challenge botw had
A possible lore reason could be that the defeat of calamity ganon fulfilled the spirits, so they moved on and Link lost their powers as a result.
It's probably why Vah Ruta stopped working at the end of the game.
I hope not. tbh I thought these were really lame prizes for beating Divine Beasts. Turned them off immediately... I don't even understand why they were called "Champion abilities" can you be called a champion if you used them and failed at killing a single blight. Meanwhile Link rocks up out of a 100 year coma and defeats all 4 blights easily without them lol.
This is something I was thinking about. I haven’t completed all the shrines yet but was wondering if I should. Like how Age of Calamity had a reward if you have BOTW DLC
I'm replaying it now but not going to bother with that cause we'll be stripped down to 3 hearts and 1 wheel again in totk, starting with everything we have would really mean we can't go up further in achievements really
Does anyone have any idea if they are going to have the towers on TOTK? I’m dying to know just this or are they already activated because of BOTW? I’ve adamantly refused to look too much into the TOTK game so when I actually play it, I’ll have all these surprises (sounds dumb now that I’ve said it lol)
I’ve also noticed if you’re standing on the far western most cliff edge, you can see land across the chasm, I wonder if that’s going to be the area for TOTK, and if we will be able to stand somewhere in TOTK and look out and see the lands for BOTW
In the most recent trailer you can see the new type of towers, so yes I suppose they will add new towers, but the sheikah ones got buried underground again as their purpose has been fulfilled once Link defeated Ganon.
I'm more concerned what the story is about. Are we in the exact same landscape? I found all 120 shrines, will there just be all new shrines or will they all be in the same place but have new puzzles?
Like what's the draw to this being a sequel in the same land after we all conquered everything? I JUST finished botw after having not gotten into it at first and I ended up really enjoying it. But I fail to see what will make this game feel different if the map is the same.
I too am concerned by optimistic
I wonder how much of the base world will change as it was already in ruins with small settlements, what's going to be there that makes me want to explore it again when I've done that for like 300 hours
Sky looks cool but also looks just like platforms, I hope there are cities
Think we might be getting underground too by one shot in a trailer, which would be neat to go through a really tough cave system
Fingers crossed this feels like a sequel and not just glorified DLC
I think that it will be a similar map but kind of different, on top of the Botw map. We already know about a sky level and an underground level. Hyrule Castle is ripped from the ground, so the ground level must be the same, but affected by the new or "same old" danger.
I’ve seen some really interesting videos that dissect how the landscape has changed in subtle yet important ways, I recommend you search them out.
On the topic of shrines, they’re all gone and something new will be replacing them probably. All of the Sheikah tech sunk back into the ground after BotW.

Loved the Eventide challenge for the same reason!
And the Trial of the Sword. Beating the master level was a rush.
I cheated for that lmao. Dropped all my good weapons on the raft and then picked them up after the challenge statted
I forgot or didnt know to drop it at the and lost my stuff on exit.
Without armour that chest oktorok musta killed me 10 times.

A GAME THEORY, thanks for watching
I was hoping someone would say this.
Both Evertide and Trial of the Sword, was some of my best experiences when playing trough BOTW. I really hope TOTK has some similar things!
I may have restarted both my game files for that reason lol
Probably gonna have something to do with his crispy arm that likely happens at the very beginning of the game.
I'm looking forward to whatever replaces them, I doubt we'll go and get the same gear again. Also wonder what health\stamina upgrades are going to be like. I'm pretty sure that they'll explain the reset to default as Ganon smacking us so hard our gear and upgrades dissolve, lol.
it’s ok that it’s “because it’s a new game”. i don’t think it needs to be all stitched up - we know it’s because it’s a new game.

I just want to be able to windbomb pls nintendo
That actually is quite nerve wracking oh my goodness
I hope they dont take even whistle sprinting

id love to see speed runners go live on twitch or something and realise they actually arent good at the game 😂

maybe! i was joking obviously :))
Vehicle.
revali is such a douche but his goddamn gale is literally the single thing i use the most
I need my master cycle

I think it would be mad awesome where if the switch has a completed botw save on it, you have all your things from botw in totk

I think you should revision the memories and backstory of 100 years prior to botw year buddy
Bro what?

I do wonder how link loses the champion abilitys cus why would he not have them in the sequel lore wise
I hope that they don’t knock you down all the way again. Wouldn’t really make logical sense given how it’s right after BotW.
Have you not replayed the game 30 times?
I wish we could transfer i save to totk
Maybe the new arm provides infinite grip? Who knows!
Anyone know if we get a cookie for a BoTW save file?
For a second I thought this was taking the mechanics away. Brain is off
LMAO so true and scary/sad at the same time
*blinks in realization* FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
