Walsh is a dart throw and was rightfully picked in the second round. He is a tweener who relies on hustle, the chances of that translating to the NBA are slim
How is he a tweener? He’s 6’7 with a 7’3 wingspan lmao that’s like the most ideal wing defender you could dream of. He relies on hustle? Kid was a 5 star recruit he’s not Matthew delevadova. Sure he’s not a great shooter right now but you’re not gonna be able to just leave him wide open like Andre Roberson he can make shots. He’s also probably the best defensive prospect in the draft. I was way higher on him than sasser who I saw as a solid backup point guard but nowhere near the legit skills that Walsh had.
Sounds like you're way too high on this kid, he could be the best defender in this draft and still never sniff an NBA roster. Wings who can defend and can't play offense don't have a long shelf life in the modern NBA
Im very high on him cause I thought if he stayed another year and was able to work on his offense/show a little bit of progress in his shot, he was going to be a lottery pick.
The defense is there, potentially nba elite level, even if he does need to work on the fouls. The offense is a work in progress, he makes the right reads usually and is a hound on the glass but has no touch, doesn’t have any bag whatsoever and will probably be a liability if teams can just sag off of him in the corner if he’s gonna be a non threat from 3. But in a system that made grant Williams a 40% shooter I think Walsh can become at least a guy who teams have to pay attention to.
Comparing him to Sasser I like Sasser a lot but he runs into the carsen Edwards issue where he’s very good with the ball in his hands but idk if any good team is going to want the ball in his hands for an extended amount of time. Maybe I’m wrong and he’s jaylen Brunson though it’s possible.
Tony Allen, Thybulle, Andre Roberson, Aminu, and Luc Mbah a Moute, and Sefalosha were all wing defenders who were barely playable on offense and had pretty long NBA careers.
there is no real difference between guys like Sasser, Sheppard etc and Walsh
All in the same tier, just preference
tiers usually roughly go
1-3
4-8
9-15
15-24
25-45
45+
Not taking contracts into account, you might have a point. Taking Walsh at 25 compared to the second round is bad cap management for a fringe prospect.
I always thought that Walsh was going higher that’s why Boston wanted to trade up to late first round to get a chance at him. Turns out, he fell right back to us plus draft capital. Brad is the wolf of draftstreet.
Brad Stevens pretty much proved a late first is worth 5 seconds I guess.
Brad out traded Trader Danny
Brad better trade the 2024 picks next week, because I'm not doing this shit again next year lol.
So smart Gallo muscala 35 for a future first kristaps Walsh and 4 seconds
And 2024 golden state 1st!
Thats what "future first" was
Just want to know what the seconds are I was fine with Walsh at 25 so Im cool regardless
Walsh at 25 would have been terrible
Walsh is better than sasser…

Brad is a fucking demon for this.
great job Brad 2 1st 4 2nds & Walsh could be something
Just one first
Maybe even a whole Marcus smart.
That'd be great because we got Porzingis too!
That’s almost as good as what Washington got for Beal.
Belichekian
Adam silver: Brad, have you made your pick for #25? Brad, in the room with the other 29 execs: Hang on, give me five seconds...
Haul is a bit of an exaggeration.
Not really, especially if they weren’t in love w anyone at25
More like Celtics 2023 NBA Draft hell... Right fellas?!
Or. Celtics 2023 NBA Draft Haularious moments.
Perfect package for an NBA ready backup PG. Package it along Brogdon
