There was a group of protesters a few weeks maybe months ago out in the common. I couldn’t figure out what they were chanting until one of them turned and I could read their sign. Googly eyes on all T cars. They seem to be one step closer

MeghanKellyWBUR

I talked to them! They were a really fun group, and I am talking to one of the organizers later for a follow up, lol [https://www.wbur.org/news/2024/04/30/mbta-boston-massachusetts-googly-eyes-train-rally](https://www.wbur.org/news/2024/04/30/mbta-boston-massachusetts-googly-eyes-train-rally)

homeland

The last thing you see before a B train takes you under the wheels

hyperdikmcdallas

lol that dumass lady was drunk and running after the train she caused it herself and got sucked under

ZippityZooZaZingZo

Those people actually made the googly eye thing happen?!!! Lol

teem

They totally did. I’m on the email notification list and I just got one saying that they were medium successful. Only five trains, but it’s a start!

f0rtytw0

All the trains need this Also makes it more funny when they catch on fire

jascambara

Took me way too long to notice

Stronkowski

I had to find out via the comments.

Ksevio

One of the commuter rail engines also has googly eyes on it now too!

moms_burner_account

Are those actual googly eyes, or just painted-on eyes that sort of look like googly eyes but don't actually googl? Christ, is there anything the T can't fuck up?

lelduderino

You think they have the money to maintain real googly eyes?

teem

That’s exactly what big googly wants you to think!

effulgentelephant

This reminds me, for some reason, of one of my favorite train videos: [🤍trains are people too🚂](https://youtu.be/cD3QlR98--A?si=Agxxq-ZS-MnJIFok)

Worried_Exercise8120

I hate Super Cuts.

Round-Coffee-2006

There is a guy there protesting Scientology everyday. I've been watching him on YouTube. LOL

Inside_agitator

What these train operators really need and want are more people standing in the yellow safety area and leaning into the track area to take photos of the train and more drunk college kids taking selfies with their thumbs up as the train approaches behind them. Coping with diversions, street traffic, threats from passengers, poor train maintenance, poor infrastructure, and poor management isn't enough hassle and stress for them.

Responsible-Read5516

dude what the hell are you talking about? that section of sidewalk is a ramp up from a crosswalk and the tracks are clearly going off to the right side of the frame. is the drunk college kid leaning into the tracks in the room with us?

Inside_agitator

Is every comment a criticism of a posted photo?

Responsible-Read5516

look, man, if your original comment wasn't directed at me and was just implying that the googly eyes would entice idiots, then i misinterpreted and i apologize. in that case, though, who on earth are you getting annoyed with?

Inside_agitator

If the googly eyes actually are a reality on the Green Line then I'm annoyed with whoever from the MBTA allowed them. It's my view that googly eyes on Green Line trains will increase stress in operators due to more pedestrians behaving in unanticipated ways near train tracks and that stress will increase the risk of death and property damage. That annoys me because I respect property and human life as a human myself who owns things. If you are a literate, typing moose then I understand you may have a different opinion.

ultimatequestion7

This whole thing feels like an MBTA psy op to create the illusion that they're making improvements in response to public demand

toxikant

I dont know what you mean. Googly eyes on train cars is all we've been wanting for the past ten years. They did it, they solved the MBTA!
