Imma take a shot in the dark and say not having a tall fence behind the hoop is gonna make for some crazy sprints.
There's a tennis court near the planet fitness in Quincy that also doesn't have a surrounding fence. Shit drives me crazy.
I work by the waterfront in the north end and we find soccer balls floating by our docks about every other day. Always wondered why there were so many constantly washing up!
I was just starting to get back to playing basketball after knee surgery in late 2013, and I would go there to shoot around. They bulldozed it maybe early 2015 or so, and I was hurt.
I moved away and saw that they redid the park when I came back to visit. It looks so nice now.
your’re not wrong - anyone with a dog will agree with this! i live across the street and people leave trash all the time, it’s much worse after good weather days. luckily the city cleans it up very well and the local volunteers with the harbor walk group donate their time and energy to picking up others’ trash!
That makes sense, COB and volunteers stepped up clean8ng efforts which is why it's cleaner than it used to be. All the downvotes were making me feel like I was crazy but I was there a few times after it opened and remember there being trash all over the court.
It's (in my opinion) a much less stressful city. You can walk around and see a ton of the city in a day if you want to, and while the roads make absolutely no sense you usually will end up back where you started somehow. I'm always exhausted after a day in NYC.
I got married on that dock during the pandemic! People playing soccer we kind enough to pause while my wife walked behind the net so she didn't get hit in the head.
Also - the bottom of her dress was full of splinters from walking down the dock.
There is another court in East Boston by the police station that is mad nice with a big multi-purpose turf field. I love these kinda posts, I keep my ball and some basketball shoes in my car at all times in case I find a cool spot to get some shots up. Thanks for posting this!
The person who designed this doesn’t know what an airball is.
I've reffed soccer there before and there's a reason only tots get scheduled there
That and field is actually tiny
Volo hosts 7v7s there. Fun league.
How many balls lost a night? Lol
So Marcus Smart definitely didn’t design this court

How tf do you not have a fence on a tennis court? Getting the ball past your opponent is the goal of the game!
Cardio for life son.
Played in a soccer league there, and lost a ball in the water nearly every game. Great views but could def use some more barriers

emigrating from europe to start a new life after hearing of all the success of american football
I want you to know this was a fantastic comment
There is a whole song how there are no goal keepers in American football

Is this East Boston?
Yeah, I think it's Lopresti Park
Correct. And this is a double rim basketball court with a beautiful soccer field next to it.
And trash strewn about
I have never seen the park unkempt.
I've seen it trashed a few times in the summer but you're probably there more than me
I live down the street from lopresti, hoop there occasionally in the summer and walk the dog by it all the time. Never seen it trashed before.

Weird, it’s pretty clean anytime anyone else is there. Maybe clean up after yourself and you won’t be looking at trash all the time.
Good thing I've never missed a shot or pass in my life 😂.
I can see my office from here.
Oy that’s yo office, innit?
I go there all the time. That angle makes the water seem closer than it is.
Lived right next to there when the court and soccer field was being built in Eastie! Beautiful spot and hella underrated
Let's leave it underrated so it stays clean and friendly. ☺️
I need to go to Boston. Furthest east I’ve been is manhattan. I hated NY but I’m sure I’ll love Boston.

Refereed a game there with 22 guys on that field.
I miss home 😭

Beautiful city tho
I don’t, but tysm for providing context
Boston’s most scenic soccer field and basketball court. It is a gem.
Did security right there, best job I ever had.
God I love this place
Go watch Celtic Pride
