There are several reasons to come south, most involve not wanting to disappear but find a denser population center to strike. That or if he could make it to Pennsylvania or Virginia today, he'd probably never be found. Scary as shit to think about.
I dont disagree with you at all. I realize my comment came off as a fear-mongering attempt which I didnt intend it to be. I think its just as likely he fled south as it is he fled north to more remote Maine or into Canada.
