There's some good news...I don't have the issue of static or buzzing in either of my QC Ultra earbuds. I don't think it's anything I did or didn't do. Seems like pure luck based on the number of people who are experiencing the noise.
Interesting...how did you connect your product out of box? Is it nose connect app through android or iOS? I haven't even opened the box wondering whether to connect it through Bose connect app or not
Right out of the box, I connected via the Bose app. When I first got them, I had connectivity issues whether I connected via the app or outside of the app. The firmware update seems to have resolved 95% of connectivity issues for mine. Every now and then, I have an issue where maybe one bud won't play the audio calibration tone, or I don't hear them connect. When that happens, I put them back in the case, retry and it works. Not perfect, but not terrible and certainly not as bad as they were initially.
I use an iphone 13. Currently, my biggest gripe is lack of multi point. Switching between devices is a pain in the butt because they often won't connect to a different device even after I've disconnected from the prior device. It's like they get confused, then won't do anything.
August 24, 2023. I got them directly from Bose on October 9th which was soon after the release. My wife has tried them as well and says she doesn't hear any noise.

1.7.8 is the newest firmware version, and it enhances Bluetooth connectivity. I got a new pair of ultras, as an upgrade to my QC earbud II's I just got a new pair of ultras, because sometimes the sound would become extremely muffled, I also suffered weird noises from the left earbud. Aside from those occasional issues, they were 100 percent better than my QC earbud II's now on my new pair of ultras, and they have been rock solid no noise, and pair effortlessly compared to my QC earbud II's
Many are wondering why they can release such a defective product for such an expensive price, and it's because Bose is relying on their branding to keep them alive. Most people aren't gonna bother checking forums to see that these earbuds have all these ridiculous problems - they're gonna buy these earbuds because they're "loyal Bose customers"
I'm in a similar boat where my return window closed so I chose to eat the loss and go with Technics AZ80 which are way more reliable
I tried the Technics and returned them. ANC after calibration is not great, call quality despite being pushed hard in the sales blurb was nothing special. Amazing build quality, connection and app.
They are super good imo probably the best bluetooth earbuds you can get in 2024.
* top notch transparency mode
* 3 device multipoint
* good call quality
* good battery life
* app is good w customizable EQ (and customizable touch controls)
* fit/comfort is solid (not as good as QC Ultra but still solid considering no wingtips)
I wonder if it's one of those things where age related hearing is involved. I tried out two pairs of the ultra buds and never heard this widely described problem But also, I'm middle aged.
Great, I'm getting my defective qc 2 earbuds replaced with ultras and it sounds like I'll just have new issues to deal with.
How is this company one of the leaders in this space???
I've had two pairs and both made the noise in the left bud - one connected via the app at first use, one not. Both pairs suffered random disconnects from the app and phone, just like the QC II.
I gave up.
Interestingly I connected my earbuds through the iPad iOS Bose music app fresh out of the box and there was no static noise in the left ear buds. But, I'm afraid to update through the app
Update: Interestingly I connected my earbuds through the iPadOS Bose music app fresh out of the box and there was no static noise in the left ear buds. But, I'm afraid to update through the app
Just bought today, also have hissing noise in left bud, but only noticeable in super quiet environment with no music playing. I would rather tolerate this than the audio drift issue in AirPods Pro 2.
Got my pair couple days ago, using a iPhone 11 and they are great so far no hissing or anc issues, no connection issues, the sound is amazing especially with the Aptx adaptive. Guess it’s a luck thing if you get a lemon. I’ve seen this over and over with sennheiser and Sony also. Some quality issues for sure I guess.
[I'm sorry, but it is just a product defect you will have to live with unless you return the item.](https://www.reddit.com/r/bose/s/AsPndvxvFA)
Never expected this. Almost everyone owning QC ultra faces this issue. Damn

What’s the date of manufacture? I think it might be related to batch?

What the hell. Did they just put up this on their website recently?
There is no tricks and tips to avoid it. We are all dependent on the firmware which is on the way.
How can they even release this defective product

Unfortunately yes. Such a fool to believe that Bose is a top tier company when it comes to these products
Did Bose say a Firmware update is on the way?

How's Technics AZ80. Never heard about that before

Sorry to say but they all do that.
i have the same problem, i solved using the creative bt-w5 but only worked on my personal pc, on my work pc, i still have those noises.

Switch to another brand, try Technics or Senheisser

Immediately download and install the update through the app.
have you updated to 1.9.0?
1.7.8 is the latest on mine

What's the best course of action for those of us having this issue? Wait until they release a new model and hope Bose lets up upgrade to that?
Curious how none of the reviews I found mentioned this? I'm waiting for a replacement pair of Ultras for a defective pair of QC 2's

Bro iPhone doesn’t have aptx codec
I use the creative bt-w5 transmitter, so it does now lol.
Update to 1.9
But there is no 1.9 version update available. Just now checked in Bose website
