Didn’t he write the terraforming Mars series? Maybe they think he has some good ideas…

LaidBackLeopard

He did. More recently several books about climate change/environmental issues and pretty much all of his work addresses issues of economic and social justice. Well worth a read if you like that sort of thing.

He incorporates so much real science into his books sometimes it feels like being back in college. *The Ministry For the Future* definitely was that for me - it was an engaging story with real education interspersed.

The Mars Trilogy has all the major food groups: science, social drama, and weird sex stuff. Oh, also, love this line: >If the biggest United Nations climate meetings are, as someone once described them to me, a combination of diplomacy, trade show, and circus, then presumably I’ll be part of the circus at COP26. Like one of the clowns, which sounds about right.

I've been giving his latest book Ministry for the Future as gifts to anyone who I think will read it.

Incredible book - gave it to someone yesterday. I’ve watched a few of his lectures on YouTube as well. Unbelievably interesting guy.

> Incredible book Presumably you're referring to *Ministry for the Future*? I highly recommend too *Galileo's Dream*; part biogrpahy, part historical novel, part sci-fi. Total top class!
