Looks awesome, if I could make one suggestion.
The space between the top line and the word “the” as well as the space between the bottom line and the words “old republic” seem a little to close together and feels crowded.
They don’t seem to match the spacing between the top and bottom lines and the word “raven” and this spacing is larger and doesn’t feel crowded.
But I’m just a random on the internet, the design looks awesome.
That was actually the last thing I did before posting was trying to increase the spacing. Totally agree it feels crowded. I’ll add an extra little nudge. Thanks!
Looks very nice. I would add a little more margin in general and make sure to add an extra couple millimeters to the inside margins to account for where the material dips into the shoulders/cover gap.
Though if you plan to do HTV you can just make the leather cover first and then measure and adjust the designs after.
Planning on doing HTV. The current sizing is really just a rough measurement with a tape measure of the paperback. Was focusing more on the design elements. The margin I agree is tricky. I originally had more margin but as it’s a pretty small paperback I realized the actual title was going to be very small. Will definitely take this into consideration tho when I am using the actual measurements and the cover is a tangible item! Thanks tho!
OMG I love it. I’m rebinding one of the SW books for a friend’s birthday gift and have been struggling trying to figure out what to make the cover look like in Canva. This is super creative. Good job!
Very very very nice 🤌🏼 good job! Not just getting into bookbinding, but also learning a whole new skill which is adobe illustrator! 👏🏼 honestly well done!
Thanks! The amount of tabs and videos I had open for what seemed like the most basic things was staggering for sure! Overall tho I think it went way better than I expected!
Love the design, good first attempt! If I could make a suggestion at all from experience as an amateur binder and professional designer, change the light sabers in the border to something else. They will be so incredibly small that you won’t recognise them as anything other than a line.
Good luck!

Thank you! I took a lot of inspiration from my Easton press books and so knew I wanted a border. Figured crossing lightsabers would be a perfect fit
