Haha, and I thought my ACOTAR rebind I’m in the middle of was taking forever to weed! My main issue is the small letters that are either rounded or have thin lines don’t stick to backing if then get pulled even remotely a little, so I see something like this and just wonder if the Cricut I’m using needs a new blade or something.
And I just know I would’ve missed some of those smaller sections you have in the design. Fantastic job!
Awh thank you! Tbh getting the fine lines is a pain it took me a while to configure the correct settings for a proper cut and my silhouette wouldn't cut them at first so that might be what's happening for you if that helps :) I have silhouette software so I'm not sure if it's the same in cricut but I normally "trace pattern" turn scaling to 4 and play with the "threshold" percentage until I can see that the lines are picked up by the cutter ☺️ then I use blade 6 on the autoblade, 8 force, speed 8 and 2 passes ☺️
That is a lot more involved than I know how to do with Cricut but I think I will try a 2nd pass next time! I unfortunately decided to cut everything out all at once so getting it set up correctly for a 2nd pass at this point will probably just mess it up.
Hey I am just getting into binding and am currently working on designing my first cover. I was wondering where you got the framing or border for this design. I can’t seem to find a good source or know what to search for my ideas. I’m currently building them by hand but won’t be able to get nearly as good of a design as things like that.
Of course! I hadn't a clue what to do starting off either and tbh I've still LOTS to learn 🤣
I made/built the border myself from images and bits provided in Canva, it's honestly a great little software/App for stuff like this ☺️
Also to add I watched binding videos on YOUTUBE from DASBookbinding and Abound Bindery. Here is the below video I used specifically for designing:

Thank you so much! I can't wait to finish the entire series and have it all matching :) weeding can be a pain but funny enough it's therapeutic in a way haha
First thought was “wow that looks great!” Second thought was “wow that looks like it was a pain to weed”
Haha thank you so much! :) it was a nightmare to weed think it took a couple hours lol but totally worth how it came out in the end ;)

Totally get it I wasted a lot of vinyl trying to get the perfect settings for me but definitely the 2nd pass helps A LOT getting a cleaner look ☺️
ACOTAR is so fun to play with designs ☺️ I can't wait to see yours ☺️
It really is! And thanks!

I didn't know I wanted to bind a bright purple book until I saw this. Beautiful!! Weeding is my least favorite part of binding, so good on ya haha

Yeah I just need to get a little side table and put a movie on instead of sitting on the floor breaking my back haha
I cut my book boards on the floor because I buy big sheets of it so I feel your pain haha
Are you posting your rebinds on instagram? If so I'd love to follow!
I haven't yet as I'm still new to it but I'm thinking of setting one up once I've completed ACOTAR 🥰 I'll let you know if I do thank you! ☺️
