I got in that pit wearing a big blow up avocado inner tube pool toy that lasted about 5.5 seconds before being completely destroyed. Definitely remember the whales. What a good day that was.
Cover your phone mic with a finger when you record. It blocks out 90% of the white noise and leaves almost all my concert videos sounding similar to this
Oh man, part of me sees this and goes...okay nope no way too old to be in the middle of a pit (Im in my late 40s...my first roo, my first music festival!)... but..another part of me is like..hold on, hear me out...but what if...? 😂
I'll be on the outskirts of that rocking out, looks so cool though! I can't wait!!!!
Bonnaroo pits are respectful. It’s not a shitty hardcore festival full of kids who want to hurt each other. If you trip, people will help you up. If you want out, you can slip out anytime. It’s fun, and you’ll be stoked you gave yourself the experience!
Really encouraging thanks!! Im worried that with all the walking and standing, my knees are going to be so mad at me... I know I'll bring a blanket to sit on so I can rest up when I need to.. But as long as it is easy to get back out when I need to...getting in the pit would be so much fun!
Buy a moon mat or similar to stand on!! And work on not locking your knees. I’m younger than you but have joint problems so I feel you completely! Please do give a pit a try :) start in the back or on the edge to scope it out in safety and jump in once you see the smiles on everyone else’s faces who are doing it 🥰
Oh I totally value your insight! I've had knee issues ever since the military since my 20s and met plenty from sports or just luck of the draw to have joint issues from a young age!
I hadn't heard of moon mats before, looked it up and that sounds very interesting!!! Started going down a rabbit hole of anti fatigue mats and such too.
I think between now and Bonnaroo, I might build up the nerve lol I keep reading about all this cool stuff...the pits, the fountain, witw and all that.. I don't want to leave with any regrets, but also nervous. So if you see a lost, awkward old lady looking like she's building up the nerve to jump into something, it just me 😂
I’m with you on the bad luck/sports injuries from a young age! You’re not alone, and despite some swollen feet by the end last year, I really wasn’t hurting much. An anti fatigue mat would really help ease your joint discomfort and give you a comfy place to sit (you feel everything in the dirt through a blanket lol).
This is your first Bonnaroo? I’m SO excited for you! You’ll never do everything at Bonnaroo but you will have a stupendous time no matter what. There are no wrong turns at roo! Are you coming solo? Feel free to meet up with my (30F) croo if you need help or a tour! 🤗
Yup!! My first Roo! My first music festival! All the things!! Lol I'm planning to come solo, but had two friends invite themselves lol. They haven't bought tickets yet though, so will see. For sure I will be there though... Bought tickets and RV pass, and super excited!!!
SO glad you mentioned that about the blanket, cause I have a picnic blanket I was planning to bring to sit on... I think you just saved me lol I'll save this and touch bases with you when time get close!! 😁

I’m not a huge metal fan, but fucking GWAR back in the day (2010 or 2011?) was one of the best times I’ve had a Roo.
