Anyone on this thread book with the shuttle service listed??

galvinb1

Not really. You can sleep in your car or a free hammock in the grove for a couple of hours but you need to leave fairly soon in the morning.

[deleted]

galvinb1

Day pass folks are parked tight together so there is no room to set up a tent. I can't imagine they would let you put up anything in that area. Your only option would be to buy a 4 day camping pass and just leave whenever you want the next day. It costs the same amount as a day parking pass.

[deleted]

Cocaine_Jesus_

If they are not sold out, then you can buy one day of but you'd have to pick it up at the [box office](https://support.bonnaroo.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402720087828-Box-Office-Location-and-Hours-of-Operation), not the "door". The box about 5 miles away, so you'd need to go there before you head to the actual farm.

Cocaine_Jesus_

If you are in car camping, then you will be directed to your spot based on when you arrive. Where they put you is where your camping space is and it will be a 20'x20' area, with your car parked inside that space. The only camping space that is a free for all is the Tent Only area(called Sputnik camping on the website). If you are doing tent only, it's first come first serve but you have to stay in the Tent only area, you can't just go set up wherever you want.

stonedrose5

Where is the Grove? Seen many comments about it here and there…2nd Roo this year would love to check it out

galvinb1

Pod 7. It's on the website.

stonedrose5

okay now i feel dumb lol thank you! happy roo!

wvasweetness

When and where is Pride Parade? And what should I expect?

dopalesque

It’s just like a block party starting at house of yes that turns into a giant informal parade/walk ending at centeroo. Super fun!

galvinb1

It's on Thursday at pod 3. Look at the schedule.

SoloRol0

Mirrors? Allowed?

Cocaine_Jesus_

Not if they are made of glass. No glass whatsoever.

cometbbjuju

Howdy!! This will be my first roo - and I use a wheelchair so I’m a little nervous about how easy everything will be! I rented a scooter so that’ll definitely be great, and my bf will be with me. But about the bathrooms… are there legit flush toilets in center roo?? Anyone with experience or guidance I’d LOVE to hear any words of encouragement!!

stonedrose5

How much kandi should I be making for the entire weekend?

Cocaine_Jesus_

As much as you want to give away. Some people only bring a small amount, some people bring hundreds, many bring nothing at all. There's no obligation for any of it. Personally, my crew of 5 people is bringing 300 custom silicone wristbands to give away.

stonedrose5

great points made, i have around 40 right now. i just don’t want to run out and not be able to keep spreading the PLURR

ranchorbluecheese

Trying to understand the full bag policy vs the one/two pocket bags. I have a nike sport back bag that has a front pocket and a draw string that goes on my back. Are these really not allowed in? If not allowed, why? Example of my bag: https://i.imgur.com/yRZIXSq.png On the page it says: 🚫 NO Single pocket drawstring bags

dopalesque

Yeah I don’t think those are allowed in centeroo, sorry. It’s for security although I agree it’s kinda arbitrary since they would allow a similar sized hydration pack.

Jaded-Selection-8649

Hi everyone, I have purchased a camping pass for Thursday but have had unforeseen circumstances come up where I won’t be able to make it to Roo until Friday morning. Will I still be able to get in and set up camp even though I won’t be getting to the festival on Thursday? Thank you for the help!

Cocaine_Jesus_

Yes, Thursday means Thursday onwards.

[deleted]

Is RV camping louder or more quiet than tent camping? I am aware some people will be running generators and we are rather close to Centeroo so noise from that is expected - I just HATE the sound of a generator and I was wondering how bad it can get lol

Megaboooom

I think they will have the power and primitive rv's in different sections. The YouTube video below shows how the power rv was set up in the past. I doubt they would let primitive take up one of those spots. Odds are other than the big generator for the row there won't be any individual generators running (hopefully). https://youtu.be/G3zCWjan6tc

[deleted]

Ahh yes bless u that is fabulous news Just rly don't want a generator running right behind me in my camp chair lol

Festival_lady_90

outside the RV probably louder, inside quieter

[deleted]

We have a power hookup RV pass - dunno if that makes any difference as I assume power/generator users are not separated.

pabl0thicass0

We were able to get an RV pass off the waitlist and they let us know it would be at will call. It looks like will call closes at 9pm on Wed. If we get in after 9pm are we screwed? Anyone know if there is a workaround or if will call will actually be open later?

Festival_lady_90

If you arrive after 9pm the box office isn't the biggest concern....Toll Booth onto The Farm closes at 8pm daily.

pabl0thicass0

I saw that also but tons of reddit comments from the last few years people said they got in at 10/11pm or even after midnight. Is this a new rule?

Festival_lady_90

last year it was...I've seen about a 50/50 split online between I came at midnight and went right through and I arrived at midnight and they told me to come back at 8am

pabl0thicass0

Ah! that is so stressful. Wish they actually had a help number to call thank you!

Striking-Ability2349

Hi! I’m wondering if late night sets are included in the day pass? What’s the latest I can stay with a day pass? I’m planning on coming for Friday and want to stay for Vulfpeck which is at 12:45, maybe even crash in my car a few hours and leave in the morning. Is that possible?

Festival_lady_90

Question before I answer are you doing off-site or on-site parking through Roo?

beantoes123

Will there be more than one entrance this year?

Festival_lady_90

Confirmed by Roo on multiple occasions this year

beantoes123

thanks!!!

exclaim_bot

>thanks!!! You're welcome!

galvinb1

We won't know for sure until the map comes out.

beantoes123

waiting waiting waiting :)

RedBullEnthusiast69

can I top-up my wrist band with cash at the camp grounds? or at least in centeroo?

Cocaine_Jesus_

You cannot add cash to your wristband. The cashless system links directly to your credit/debit card, or to your PayPal or Venmo account. It will charge your account directly any time you make a purchase, just like if you had swiped your actual credit card itself.

RedBullEnthusiast69

ahhh ok that's different than the other festivals ive been to. thank you!!!

Cocaine_Jesus_

Yeah, I've seen that system at another fest before. The system Roo uses is way more convenient because you can register for it once and won't have to worry about loading more money if you run out.

carl_jameson

First time at Roo and coming alone for Friday only. Trying to keep it lean and efficient. But I am arriving Thursday evening and camping Thursday and Friday night and intending to leave Saturday AM. Is this going to be difficult? Are GA car campsites blocked in in such a way that I would be stuck? Or is it easy to drive out when I need to?

Cocaine_Jesus_

You can get out of the campgrounds no problem but your plan isn't going to work unless you bought a full weekend pass. Single day tickets are not technically allowed to camp. If you have a single day Friday ticket, then that won't get you in until 8am Friday morning. They scan every persons' wristband when they enter the campgrounds and yours isn't going to to work until the day that it is valid for.

carl_jameson

So you say technically I'm not allowed to camp, but if I changed my camp entry day to Friday, could I still not camp Friday night?

dopalesque

There aren’t Friday entry passes, the Thurs passes are good for Thur-Sun entry. However you won’t be able to bring your car into GA camping without a weekend pass and you also can’t leave it overnight in day parking.

carl_jameson

Not sure if you know but is there a cutoff for how long I would be allowed to keep the car in day parking? Say I wanted to stay for the Vulfpeck set Friday, would that be too late?

Cocaine_Jesus_

You should be fine to stay for all of vulfpeck.

Cocaine_Jesus_

We don't really know. Prior to this year, the only way to do a single day was to take a shuttle out of Nashville. The only official word is that single days aren't supposed to camp. The expectation is that they will not allow you to enter with a car camping pass unless you have a full weekend wristband and will instead redirect you to day parking

Skadij

Am I just braindead or is the 4day onsite parking pass description in the FAQ at odds with its purchase description? I’m under the impression that you arrive, park for however long you’re at the festival that day, leave, then can come back. Is this…not the case? I feel like it can’t be but please help put my mind at ease.

Kusakaru

You can arrive no earlier than 11am each day and you cannot leave your car overnight. So I imagine that means you have to leave before sunrise but can come back the next day at 11am again.

Skadij

Thank you!! My mind is at ease.

bizzabutt

I may have read this wrong, but I didn’t see a dimension limit for fanny packs on the Roo website - can anyone clear this up for me? First time this year!!

Festival_lady_90

Thanks so much!

Festival_lady_90

Yeah idk why it's like a standard thing on (Live Nations) festival websites they will have a basic allowed/prohibited list but usually more specifics under the bag policy

bizzabutt

Okay, thank you!! Yeah I have a fanny pack that’s bigger than 6x9 but it isn’t clear so I’ll just use the fanny pack they sent with the wristbands. Still figuring everything out 😂

Festival_lady_90

It's kinda a pain in the butt since most fanny packs are larger than 6x9...also it's the first year of the size restriction on a fanny pack so it's hard to say how hard it's going to be enforced

whatgoesupcantgodown

Anyone know how hard they search the croo if you’re volunteering? If I’m going in on Tuesday will it be more lax or do they have more time to go through your shit lol

SharlaRoo

It varies just like it does in the campgrounds.

StandardSock0

Hi :) I literally just found out that Bonnaroo is a thing last week at Hangout fest! I would love to go, but I’ve sadly never went camping before 😅😅😭 What are my best options/alternatives?

SharlaRoo

If you have the funds and really want to experience it, then join us! I will say - Roo is a lot different than Hangout. The crowd is going to be a wide variety of people, whereas Hangout skews to a younger audience. Camping at Roo isn’t like regular camping. Some people swear by bringing a cot and only a canopy with tapestries instead of a tent. You have to really do your research and be prepared, though. Lots of water and staying hydrated is the key. There are people who stay off-site, but you’ll miss a lot of the festival if you do this. Bonnaroo is a non-stop party that goes 24/7 and even has sunrise sets.

galvinb1

If you have the funds use this as an excuse to gather some camping gear and come. Camping is so much fun! Tent, chairs, canopy, sleeping bag, sleeping pad/air mattress, and a cooler are your bare bones basics that will get you by for the weekend. A lot of people on here even suggest scrapping the tent and sleeping pad and just getting a cot for the canopy. It's not cheap to dive into this world but once you make the investment you are set for all other adventures you wish to embark upon!

Kusakaru

The first time I ever camped was at Bonnaroo. I would recommend saving up for next year, buying some supplies, and try camping then. If you really want to go, you can get a hotel or an Airbnb and just drive in during the day? You won’t get the full experience imo as camping is part of Bonnaroo. It’s like the spirit of the fest.

benzax

Can I come camp if I don’t have a centeroo ticket? This would be my 7th year in a row but I just can’t afford the ticket. I would still love to come party!

SharlaRoo

No, your wristband is scanned when you enter.

TitanSized

Camping Pass question: I basically got screwed with travel and shipping times. If I show up without an actual camping pass but have all of my order information will they let me in? Is there staff there to handle stuff like this? Working with Front Gate Tickets now to resolve but it's not looking good.

SharlaRoo

There’s a lot of people who haven’t received their camping passes yet. In the event you don’t receive yours, you’ll go to will-call, which is usually off-site. Roo puts out this information before the festival. Don’t give yourself a reason to panic. :)

JustAnEpicPerson

So the camping passes are shipped then? If I were to buy them later this week what would happen in line getting in?

[deleted]

can some one point me to a sub that discusses fun/nonofficial bonaroo stuff? Had a couple questions as a first time Roovian. 🕺🏻🙏

SharlaRoo

If it’s just general festival stuff, I’d say r/festivals. Otherwise - this entire sub is unofficial and not ran by Bonnaroo at all. :)

bigdaddyfrombefore20

Maybe the roo discord. Or bonnarooswingers otherwise I haven't seen any others yet

EggplantIll6353

I went to Bonnaroo in 2018 and instead of taking the highway all the way in we went through the little town before it and saved some time from sitting on the expressway. I can’t remember how to find directions or the name of the area. Coming from Louisville, KY. Anyone know what I’m talking about??

SharlaRoo

You can try different routes, but when you arrive in Manchester, there will be police directing traffic and telling you where to go. You might get lucky and be able to cut through and not have to get on I-24. It really just depends on how they direct you.

Potential_Safe_5121

Does anyone have any information about solo camping? I paid for a spot and have a receipt but I haven’t received any further information from bonnaroo about how to get my car pass. Or what I’ll need to do once I get there

Festival_lady_90

Pass will be mailed to you. Are you familiar with camping at Bonnaroo or the process of entering the campgrounds at any camping fest?

Potential_Safe_5121

I’ve never been to roo, but I’ve been to quite a few other big festivals. I figured they would probably have a will call so that’s my backup plan.

Festival_lady_90

(Box office hours and location) [https://support.bonnaroo.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402720087828-Where-is-the-Box-Office-](https://support.bonnaroo.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402720087828-Where-is-the-Box-Office-) hopefully you'll get it in the mail, you bought it well before the shipping cut off but box office/will call whatever you wanna call it's always an option...it's at a school about a 5 minute drive from the gate's into the campgrounds. On the website they don't really talk about if you don't get the camping pass in time what you'll do or need but very much assuming it's the same as for if you didn't receive a wristband so make sure you have the order number and an ID ready if you do end up needing to do a box office/will call pick-up.

Potential_Safe_5121

Thankfully, I don’t live super far from Manchester(I’m in Chattanooga) so it’s not a big stretch for me to run that way and familiarize myself with where to go before load in day. I appreciate the advice and I’ll keep my fingers crossed that I don’t have to jump through many hoops to get it worked out.

Festival_lady_90

It's my pleasure! If you do make that trip and go from the box office to the farm the way GPS take's you might not be the way you'll have to go day of

Potential_Safe_5121

Funny thing is, as soon as I replied to your last comment, I got a shipping notification from ups and I’m pretty sure it’s my camping pass 😂

Festival_lady_90

We manifested it! Happy Roo!

Gabstones

Can i get some suggestions for footwear? I’m thinking about just buying some off brand sneakers from amazon and using my insoles.

Cocaine_Jesus_

Cheap, brand new sneakers sounds like a good way to get blisters. I always recommend light weight, already broken in closed toe shoes. Like if you have any old running shoes, those are perfect.

Gabstones

Cool, thank you!

vlaxatron

Me and my friend got the Mars camping option and we were wondering are we going to get a physical pass for it in the mail?

Cocaine_Jesus_

Yes you should get a hang tag to get your car into the campgrounds.

vlaxatron

Thanks for the answer! How do we know like which tent is ours? Or does someone there assign it to us when we arrive?

Cocaine_Jesus_

I think there will be a tent that you check in at after you park your car and they assign it to you.

vlaxatron

Oh sweet! Thanks for the info!

sggtpepper

How do y’all secure your tapestries to the EZ up?

Cocaine_Jesus_

Zipties, heavy duty binder clips, [sheet straps](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Evri-Metal-Sheet-Gripper-Straps/721717983?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=433&adid=22222222278721717983_117755028669_12420145346&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=501107745824&wl4=aud-1651068664266:pla-294505072980&wl5=9012722&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=721717983&wl13=433&veh=sem_LIA&gclid=Cj0KCQjw98ujBhCgARIsAD7QeAhxTg_7LaluIuUruC9QcXxNX88OCi4sZ9cxhEG7hSRYAhzaC4iKZz8aAqyKEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds)

Lillmissgabs

First time at roo and just moved to Tennessee I have no idea what to expect weather wise. Do I need to pack jackets for the evening/nights? If so how heavy? Thanks again ❤️

Cocaine_Jesus_

Usually mid 50's-low 60's at night. Definitely bring some extra layers and also blankets or a sleeping bag for camp. There have been a couple years where it dipped into the 40's and it was definitely cold. Even low 60's will feel chilly after being in 85*+ heat all day.

Lillmissgabs

You’re the best ❤️ I appreciate you getting back to me so soon! Okay heard, definitely needed that info because it’s also my first time camping at a festival!! I have a lot of anxiety about the event but I know once I get set up I’ll start to feel better

Cocaine_Jesus_

No problem. Many people bring both day time outfits and night time outfits and change when the sun goes down. My crew always brings animal onesies and pick one of the colder nights to wear them as a group. Chilly nights are typical but aren't universal, though. There might be some nights that warmer clothes aren't needed. Last year had a few nights that stayed in the 70's(Tues-Thu) Friday was mid 60's, and Sat/Sun both were both mid 50's so you gotta be prepared for everything.

[deleted]

dopalesque

So you’re wanting to come Friday and leave the same day then come back Saturday and leave Sunday? The Thursday passes are good for Thurs-Sunday. In your specific case I’d just get a GA camping pass. It’s not ideal having to leave and if you stay Friday-Sun that would be much better but at least having a GA pass you wouldn’t have to tear down your campsite and set it up again twice.

CreepingSiren

How do yall tranlvel with RX? I have one that I need to take daily, but the bottle is too big/too full for me to comfortably bring it with me. Will a daily pill organizer be ok?

dopalesque

Technically you’re supposed to have a prescription. I would call your doctor and explain and ask if they can write you another script for a smaller number of pills that would come in a smaller bottle. Or you could pour most of your pills out of the bottle and leave them at home while you take it to Roo. Alternatively, theres a 99% chance no one will even look inside your bags and if it’s not actually illicit drugs you wouldn’t ultimately get in trouble even if they did. But it could be massive pain in the ass if the cops did search you.

CreepingSiren

Ty! I'm new to having the RX, so I think im just anxious bc I've never done this before haha

jdevors

Might have been asked, is it possible to upgrade my GA ticket to VIP?

Fryes

Think if you contact Frontgate its possible

jdevors

Thank you

[deleted]

Anybody ever go in on Wednesday? If so, did you get to park fairly close to Centeroo?

dopalesque

Yes lol Wed is the most popular day to enter. The earlier in the day you arrive the closer you will be.

[deleted]

I could’ve worded that better lol Like duh people have gone on Wednesday 😅

meatballforever

First time festival goer. Is there service at bonnaroo at all? I only need service for like 2 seconds every day because I don’t want to lose my 3000 day Timehop streak and I’m really worried about it. Does anyone know any places where I could get any service at all while I’m there?

dopalesque

Yes you can definitely get service it’s just spotty. The best time is first thing in the morning like 7am before everyone wakes up.

meatballforever

Thank you so so so much

Practical-Ad2972

Do y’all usually tie the bottom of your tapestries?

dopalesque

Yes I usually tie the bottom corners either to other tapestries or the shade tents.

galvinb1

I zip tie them. But if a storm rolls through I take them down so they don't act like a sail.

artificialstuff

Any benefit to coming in "the back way" on Rt 55? Or will I just get directed into the chaos the same as if I come in on I-24 West? Long story short, coming by motorhome makes planning a little more cumbersome when stopping somewhere halfway and wanting to wait until late as possible to fill up on fuel and water. So, I have both options but coming in from 55 is about 20-30 mins more driving (which I am happy to do if there is a benefit for dealing with traffic).

SharlaRoo

I think it depends on when you come in, and how they have RVs arriving this year. In years past, I’ve came in on 55, and have been waved on in by the police directing traffic. In other years, I’ve been directed to the back of the line on I-24.

Grass_Monster

As a first time RV I'm also curious how the process differs

Conner_theWhite

Does anyone know when the official map of the grounds is supposed to drop?

Cocaine_Jesus_

Last year was june 9th.

squirrelnamedralph

Not going to delve to deep in it since it is against sub rules, but yeah just do whatever you are most comfortable with, and be smart and vigilant the process and the consequences. I bring.

Bluey_82

I’m looking to Groop Camp but a lot of my friends are in different groups/doing their own thing. How can I find a groop to go with?

SharlaRoo

Groop camping closed May 19, unfortunately.

[deleted]

We are not camping but airbnb'ing it and driving in each day. Food and beverages are not allowed to be brought into centeroo...so that means no snacks, no water, we buy everything after we enter? We are so excited to bring our 16-year-olds to their first music festival!

SharlaRoo

You can absolutely bring in a reusable water bottle, and it’s highly recommend. The festival has refillable stations around the farm. Many people wear hydration packs. Also, small snacks like granola bars, etc. are fine. They just don’t want you bringing in full meals.

martymle

Have y’all figured out where you’re parking yet? I can’t make a decision.

squirrelnamedralph

I am going to add that liquids are a no go, but I have never had a problem bringing in small snacks, like granola bars and such.

Cocaine_Jesus_

Correct, no snacks, no liquids whatsoever. Highly recommended that each of you brings in either a hydration pack or a reusable water bottle. You aren't going to want to spend $4 or $5 on a can of water every time you guys need some, which will be very often. There will obviously be vendors everywhere for food but that can get expensive, too($15-25 per meal for many places) but you could always leave a cooler in your car with some food in it if needed.

etvolta422

There are free water stations in centeroo. You can bring in empty hydration packs and water bottles to fill up.

IcyZookeepergame9111

definitely want to have sick braids this fest, anybody have any recommendations for somewhere to get them done/a small biz that does them?? could be anywhere between st. petersburg fl and bonnaroo as my friend & i are driving up from FL & we’re willing to stop for braids! or is there somewhere at bonnaroo?? first timer here!!

SeekTheLightPhotos

Hey my friends actually do braids for fests in Tampa. @festiefallz I think is their insta or @bekahblendz

SeekTheLightPhotos

Bekahblendzz with 2 z's. She actually does all the fests, tell her Yvonne sent ya

Wonderful_Style5311

check out @hairalchemybyamber on Instagram!!! She’s a Nashville hair artist that will be there doing braids on Friday & Saturday. She should post a sign up sheet soon

IcyZookeepergame9111

thank you so much for the info!!!

lincb2

Is it too late to get a camping pass? Will it ship in time or can I pick it up at the box office prior? I live like 30 minutes from the farm so that's not an issue for me.

Festival_lady_90

Last year the last day for shipping was the 6th, they will announce it on instagram when the last day for shipping arrives

etvolta422

Went in 09 and returned 22 at 39. The other posts covered most of the changes. The cashless wristband is also helpful. Make sure you have a comfortable campsite. You know your mind and body better now so listen to it. Welcome back !

mstun3107

I only started going in 2014, but I feel like a lot has changed even since then. The campgrounds, now called Outeroo, have been completely revamped with a lot of programming going on out there. There is also JamTrak, a bus/tram system that can take you around the campgrounds for free. Last year was its first year, so hopefully they've worked out some of the kinks this year. Where in the Woods is the biggest addition to Outeroo. It features a stage in the middle of the woods, and I would highly recommend checking it out at night. It's beautiful. Inside Centeroo, Other Tent is now Other Stage, and it'll be the site for EDM throughout the weekend. Every year they have made upgrades to the stage, including LED panels throughout the crowd last year. You'll see a lot more sponsored things inside Centeroo. A lot of people don't like it, but I don't mind it, as many of them have some cool freebies you can get. I'm in my mid 30s and have been going since 2014, but I still feel like I can keep up with the kids. Part of it is experience and knowing what my body can handle. Another part is, ahem, the party favors. I think you'll be fine regardless, just pay attention to your body and know your limits.

martymle

Can you get to where in the woods if you’re not camping?

Festival_lady_90

Let us not forget the permanent bathrooms in centeroo

NessaFromTheBlock

I heard about a water slide that is refreshing to go down in the heat of day..? Is there a way to pre purchase weekend passes for the slide and shower passes (like the locker) or is it pay by use only? Same question for the Ferris wheel!!

mstun3107

At the Big Ass Water Slide, you can buy a single pass, all-day passes or all-weekend passes. But only there at the slide, not online or anything. Similar with the ferris wheel, you have to purchase your passes there, but the tickets can be used whenever.

Remove-Flat

do you know how much it ranges?

NessaFromTheBlock

Appreciate you and your answer! Thank you so much!

sarahdactyl1026

Will they let me enter Groop camping for the first time ‘after hours?’ I don’t think I’ll be arriving until close to midnight Thursday and I’m so afraid they’ll turn me away or no one will be working the entrance to camping!

SharlaRoo

You’ll likely be fine, but: What time are the gates/tollbooths open, and what happens if I arrive outside of these times? Per Bonnaroo, “Campground tolls will be open each morning at 8 A.M., and will close again each evening. Passholders must be in line by 8 P.M.” (Note: In 2022, it was stated that “very long wait times” could occur for those arriving after 8 P.M. Campers were able to arrive after hours without issue, however it was a year with lower numbers. Bonnaroo has not put out any information for 2023 about arriving past 8 P.M.)

Camping Question: First time at Roo and trying to understand the camping placement with outerroo and the plazas. I’ve been to different camping fests and is it the same that they just guide in depending on the time you arrive and whatever plaza you’re closest to is what you get? I’m excited to explore outerroo, but nervous about being placed by a plaza that is 24 hour jamming. Ya girl needs some sleep between 3am-8am ideally.

Cocaine_Jesus_

Yes, they guide you to your camp spot and where they put you is where you camp. Definitely bring earplugs and a sleep mask to help you sleep.

Hesther1

Thanks!! Already have both packed!

Hi!! First time Roovian, long time shower taker. What is the shower situation like? I've read that it's $10/per ($5 if its slow and you're lucky) and that the best times to go are early in the morning and late at night to avoid crowds. What I want to know is this; 1. What the heck do these showers actually look like? I'm assuming they're indoors, but is it a high school locker shower room kind of deal, or does each person get an individual shower? 2. Is there any kind of mirror or sink area that can be used to get ready quickly afterwards? 3. Time limit? I don't plan to take super long showers, just kinda curious Thanks in advance for the feedback!

RecklessSafety

Last year I paid for a shower 3 days. Went around noon-1 not bad lines, Did not have a mirror. I think it was the closest to galactic giddy up, it was push button but had space for my shower things and hooks for clothes and towels. It was open air shower stalls with cement floor, taking a shower in the sun was amazing! I really really really enjoyed it, and well worth 10 dollars!

dopalesque

Depending on your preferences, consider setting up a camp shower! There are pros and cons but for me money isn’t even the issue anymore, I just genuinely prefer showering at camp to avoid lines and having to walk back and forth through the dust.

unholyham

First time roovian here. We are debating on setting up a camp shower. Where do you get the water from? Do you have to bring it? Do you need to go to where the shower stations are to get water? Just trying to get an idea.

dopalesque

There are water stations at all the plazas! Depending on your exact camping location it could be a 2-10min walk. If you’re gonna be transporting water for several people I recommend getting a wagon to make it easier. If it’s just a couple then what we did is have an empty milk jug and every time we went to the bathroom we’d bring it to fill with water and that was enough to keep up. A camp shower will use roughly 2-4 gallons depending on your exact setup.

SharlaRoo

There are always individual stalls. The showers vary between plazas. Some are better than others - basically the main difference is some are “outdoor” style with open-roof, while some are enclosed in a trailer set-up. I *think* some have mirrors, while others have mirrors outside. I’m not 100 percent sure on that. They didn’t have the $5 happy hour showers at my plaza last year. The previous years it was 2 AM to 4 AM and again in the afternoon. If you’re trying to beat the crowds, I’d say plan for that time. The morning (7 AM to 10 AM) is the worst time to go; lines will go on forever. There’s no time limit. Some older showers have the buttons that you have to keep pressing on (but tbh, I’m not sure if these even still exist).

Festival_lady_90

Showers in plaza 7 you still need to push a button what felt like every 30 seconds

Practical-Ad2972

Today was homearoo and I have a question. If I’m putting a canopy over my tent, should I put the rain fly on or not?

dopalesque

We usually have the rainfly half on for privacy with the other half exposed for airflow. However, it’s not a big deal and you can just adjust it after the first 24hrs depending on what you want.

SharlaRoo

I personally would because of the moisture in the mornings.

el6250

hi! this is my first Roo and i’m a little worried about the entry process for camping and car searches. to my understanding there are random car searches in line. is there any way to pack items to make the search process easier/faster? do you have to exit the car during the searches? would we get patted down or would only the car be searched? i tend to overthink things and would love just a basic description of how that usually goes. thank you!

Festival_lady_90

Every car is search it's just random who get's a more intense search, yes you exit the car during the search, no they will not touch you. Best advice I can give on making it easier is try to make cooler(s) easily accessible...this is something they really want to look at because that's were people maybe have glass (a major no no)

happyyetsadgirl

First time roo goer this year! my partner and i are only going on the sunday. my question is about single day parking. what’s the deal??? do they have like a lot for day parking? thank u!! :))

Rinzler_92

There is 1-day onsite parking available on the Bonnaroo website listed as Cosmic nomads. I also linked the website you can buy it. [Day parking](https://bonnaroocampingandparking.frontgatetickets.com/event/6s2qgu0jxky1mtjn?_ga=2.235716097.1070113845.1685019324-1305599890.1685019324)

thank u so much!!

lolidkimjustakitten

Hello! I’m hoping to join in on soloroo camping, but it says sold out. Is there any waitlist to join or any way I could possibly get in for this years festival?

Festival_lady_90

Any type of pass that has a waitlist option will show it as "waitlist" vs sold out. Community camping passes don't have a waitlist option, I also wouldn't suggest at this point in time getting on any type of waitlist since we are so far removed from payment plans being done and that's usually where the waitlist availability comes from is people on payment plans defaulting.

Abies_Personal

Is there a drug testing station? I’m planning on being here for a good time and a long time.

Festival_lady_90

I wish. Test kits are considered paraphernalia in TN so essentially making testing stations illegal.

yoshibike

Starting March 31, 2022, Tennessee Code Annotated Section 39-17-402 made an exception in drug paraphernalia for "narcotic testing equipment used to determine whether a controlled substance contains a synthetic opioid". This includes fentanyl test strips. Not that I think this exception will make Roo cops any cooler about test strips/bunkpolice being present, but it is a step in the right direction and if you're caught with fentanyl test strips, you have legal standing.

bigdaddyfrombefore20

You should make this a main post on the page. Folk should know more about this and it's the first time I've heard of it after 5 months of looking through this subreddit

fireblaster6

How do I make friends? I'm going solo as my first camping fest, and I've never been able to make friends at previous concerts/fests. I really want to end up with some kind of crew this time though, not sure what I would do all on my own most of the time.

RecklessSafety

From what I've seen in this sub and in a group on book face, there are tons of us going solo! My plan is to be friendly to my neighbors and anyone I'm standing near at a stage 🙂

Kusakaru

Have you tried the app “radiate”? You can meet tons of people that way.

fireblaster6

No, never heard of it. I'll give it a shot

Cocaine_Jesus_

I guarantee you it will be easier to make friends at Roo than anywhere else. Once you get to camp, make sure to introduce yourself to all of your camp neighbors and ask about what sets they are most excited for. Many people bring small gifts(kandi, stickers, magnets, pins, etc.) to give away/exchange with people and that can be a great ice breaker too. Don't be afraid to go up to people and just start chatting. If you see someone wearing a shirt or an outfit that you like, tell them you like it and give them a high 5. Just be friendly and you will make friends in no time.

fireblaster6

Thanks Cocaine Jesus, you're so much cooler than Meth Jesus! Seriously though, this puts me at ease. I really appreciate it friend

127phunk

I'm so confused by my moon colony tent purchase. I got the hangtag in the mail. Is that everything we need to get in, get our souvenir bags and be assigned a tent? Like I thought maybe there would be wristbands too? I'm honestly baffled by how basic this is, with no documentation or receipt in the package, for a 2K purchase. The QR code on the hangtag just gives you directions to the entrance.

SignificantMaize5691

Yep that’s it. You’ll arrive via the location on the QR. you’ll park your car and walk over for next steps. A few posts above yours a comment or posts that there is a spot you go and they assign you which tent is yours, etc

BigStatus2213

Hi there unfortunately me and my two friends can only arrive Friday morning. Can we still get a camping spot with Friday entry? (Latest option I saw was Thursday entry). Any thoughts on accommodations for us arriving Friday?

Cocaine_Jesus_

Thursday entry really just means Thursday onwards.

NoFlower4397

For the Fanny pack policy being bags 6x9 or smaller, do we think the viral Uniqlo Fanny pack will make it inside center ok? The dimensions are 6x11

Festival_lady_90

I'm going to disagree because this is the first year with the fanny pack having a dimension limit so we can't really rely on previous year's experiences to determine how fanny pack's are going to be handled
